Traore is a lot more than just a pace merchant. He's a brilliant dribbler in pretty much every way and has plenty of tricks of his own (probably more than Saint-Maximin). He's just so ridiculously fast and has so little end product that it's easy to fall into the trap of him being just about the pace.
It's crazy that people have put him down as just a pace merchant
Spot on. The old "Traore has no end product" is just a lazy old cliche!
He has 5 goals and 10 assists from 36 games so far this season, in a team that doesn't score a huge amount of goals. That's better than players like Grealish and Maddison, who are applauded for their creativity.
Traore can be utterly devastating at times. Easily the most exciting player I've seen at Wolves for many, many years. You've not seen too much of it in the games against you, but more consistency will come in time.
Watching Saint-Maximin now, is like watching Traore last season. He clearly has ability, but it only really comes to something once in a blue moon.
He needs someone to harness that raw ability. Whether Steve Bruce is the man to do that I'm not so sure.
But it may all soon fall into place like it has for Traore, at which point he will be a scary proposition to face.
