Bit annoying he didn't get even 10 minutes.
The thing is he can't do worse than VDB. He should be getting atleast some minutes.I hope he’s not used as an excuse to not buy a winger this summer if he’s not even deemed ready enough to get minutes in games like these.
Blame Ole man. VDB played a 0/10 on the wing for the entire game.I blame this post.
Yep, I've seen people mention him as a reason not to buy a winger in other threads but you can't be pinning that much hope on a guy who I don't think has ever started a professional football match and who clearly the manager and his staff don't think is ready to be consistently involved even in less pressurised situations.I hope he’s not used as an excuse to not buy a winger this summer if he’s not even deemed ready enough to get minutes in games like these.
You’d think so but the fact he’s not getting any minutes at all suggests that he’s a long time away from breaking into our line up. It’s strange as he looks a level above U23 but Ole seems very reluctant to play him so I’m assuming there must be a reason. The thing is he can't do worse than VDB. I doubt it man. With some managers pecking order just reigns supreme more times than not. You’d think so but the fact he’s not getting any minutes at all suggests that he’s a long time away from breaking into our line up. Not sure what value there was to bringing on Mata, he has no business being here and he's in his 30s.Bit annoying he didn't get even 10 minutes.
Exactly, unless something dramatically changes between now and next season then right wing remains a priority for me.Yep, I've seen people mention him as a reason not to buy a winger in other threads but you can't be pinning that much hope on a guy who I don't think has ever started a professional football match and who clearly the manager and his staff don't think is ready to be consistently involved even in less pressurised situations.
As I have said several times, he is the most cautious manager we have had. He's so scared of losing that he can't risk it. Do people still think he gives youth a chance? You’d think so but the fact he’s not getting any minutes at all suggests that he’s a long time away from breaking into our line up. It’s strange as he looks a level above U23 but Ole seems very reluctant to play him so I’m assuming there must be a reason.
You'd think the Milan goal was worth a decent chunk of EL minutes.Blame Ole man. VDB played a 0/10 on the wing for the entire game.
I don't get the obsession with playing a CM who isn't good enough to play there out wide just to fit him in.
Just play a winger out wide FFS.
It’s annoying because surely there’s no harm in giving him a 15 minute run out when Martial and Janes are out injured, Rashford’s only 50% fit and VDB is dropping a stinker. He’s 19 in 2 months so he’s hardly a baby.I doubt it man. With some managers pecking order just reigns supreme more times than not.
Yeah it's actually mad he hasn't got a minute since. Clear Ole is a pecking order manager. That said I doubt Dony sees another minute in the wing after that shitshowYou'd think the Milan goal was worth a decent chunk of EL minutes.
10 minutes at the end of a dead end game isn't going to mean much.Cant believe he didnt get some minutes, rubbish from ole imo
This 100%.unfortunate he didn't get minutes, i think Matic should have started and Pogba at LW to allow us to finish off Roma so we can bring in subs to rest key players and Amad gets 30+ mins on the pitch
You could probably make a decent-sized wig out of all the hair we've torn out waiting to see him play.Bit annoying he didn't get even 10 minutes.
Good point. Potential young signings could see this and go: 'There's no way I'm getting minutes if Amad freaking Diallo isn't.'We could have Bellingham and he would get zero minutes.
Think its pretty clear oles taking his time with him, thats the problem, you'd think he was 14 and never kicked a football before the way posts like this make out...30 minutes tonight would of been good for him, and we'd still be in the final if he got them, despite the 2 donkeys ole brought on at fullbacks best efforts.10 minutes at the end of a dead end game isn't going to mean much.
Ole is taking his time with him, this season is just about bedding in... Next season we'll see a lot more sub appearances from him.
I don't think so, he probably doesn't play certain people because they aren't good enough yet. Greenwood at age 17 or 18 was ready to start for him. Diallo may simply not be as good as hyped - as of now anyway.Ole is a coward, that much is obvious. The fact he dares not change the team, rest Bruno, make early subs, give unused players a run out in dead rubber games etc. I actually laughed when I saw Rashford ready to come on tonight at the first sign of trouble.
Ole has nobody else to blame for the lack of progress for some players, other than himself.
I don't think there is a legitimate reason why he's not getting more minutes. Solskjaer is just a risk adverse and overly pragmatic manager in the Mourinho mould who simply won't trust kids in the league and CL. Saka over at Arsenal wouldn't get the same chances under Solskjaer for instance IMO. I mention Saka because I feel Amad is at a similar level talent wiseYou’d think so but the fact he’s not getting any minutes at all suggests that he’s a long time away from breaking into our line up. It’s strange as he looks a level above U23 but Ole seems very reluctant to play him so I’m assuming there must be a reason.
I think ole would've rested more players if the game against Liverpool wouldn't have been canceled.Ole is a coward, that much is obvious. The fact he dares not change the team, rest Bruno, make early subs, give unused players a run out in dead rubber games etc. I actually laughed when I saw Rashford ready to come on tonight at the first sign of trouble.

It's a semi final not a dead rubber game and despite having a healthy lead we nearly blew it. It wasn't the game to play Amad.Ole is a coward, that much is obvious. Anything to have a pop at Ole, right?Ole is a coward, that much is obvious. The fact he dares not change the team, rest Bruno, make early subs, give unused players a run out in dead rubber games etc. I actually laughed when I saw Rashford ready to come on tonight at the first sign of trouble.

have a word with yourselfOle is a coward, that much is obvious. The fact he dares not change the team, rest Bruno, make early subs, give unused players a run out in dead rubber games etc. I actually laughed when I saw Rashford ready to come on tonight at the first sign of trouble.

It's a reasonable stance because VDB is certainly not a winger. We are playing him out there just for the sake of it. Not because anyone thinks it will be particularly useful.A lot of people in here making out Amad is a star player already and deserves his spot. He's barely played any football, even abroad, claiming he's the same level as Dana? Based on what?
Ole sees him every day in training, the kid is apparently fasting currently too, and weren't he supposed to have been on loan this season originally had he been signed in the summer?
People saying he should have started ahead of VDB when everyone has been crying for VDB to finally get a full game too.
Ok say now you're arguing that VdB isn't good enough, before the game people were desperate for him to start to show if he's good enough. It's a reasonable stance because VDB is certainly not a winger. We are playing him out there just for the sake of it. Not because anyone thinks it will be particularly useful.
If it was a different winger or Pogba playing on the wing over him then we can have no arguments but VDB is awful out wide.
It's not a high bar to beat. VDB was very lucky to stay on. Games just pass him by.
Pep must be a big coward too then, see how long it took him to play a star, who was already used to being here, in Foden? Struggle to see much youth between the rest of his team or Klopps.Ole is a coward, that much is obvious. The fact he dares not change the team, rest Bruno, make early subs, give unused players a run out in dead rubber games etc. I actually laughed when I saw Rashford ready to come on tonight at the first sign of trouble.
