He was great this game. Would like to see more of that. This guy really wants it.

He had 1.87 xGOT from 0.84 xG. His shooting was objectively very good today and was only denied a second goal due to very good saves from Muric. The rest of the team combined has only 0.38 xGOT for comparison. He had twice as many shots on target as Hojlund completed passes. Was easily the best of the front three today.

Maybe some tiny bit of positivity we can take from today? Just a smidge?

Could see the desire in him today. Contrary to whiny Rashford, he seems to take in the criticism and attempt to be better and prove himself better. Hope we'll keep seeing more positives, but for now would not make too much conclusions, still very poor season overall.

He was good for the first 25 against Sheff and decent for much of the game today.

Fans are really bad for taking a standing opinion of a player and applying it to every performance regardless of what happens. Add to this the Diallo factor and Antony is an easy choice for the brainless criticism, especially with Maguire making a lot of people look like idiots and McT not starting.

Awful season, but did ok today and was far from the worst Utd player.

Happy for him. Overall think we gotta move him on based on two seasons overall but hopefully he contributes well until the end of the season especially the cup final

He's not a bad player at all, but he's reached the point now where if he doesn't score or assist people think he's had a shite game. Because people are incredibly thick and don't understand football beyond looking at G/A numbers. Which is exactly why someone like Rashford has survived here for so long.

For the amount we paid for Antony, of course the expectations are high. Unfortunately, he hasnt justified it at all.

what we ended up paying isn’t Antony fault though. I’m sure he knows himself he isn’t a 90million player but he can’t help the back room staff clowns we have that paid that much.

Yeah, people expecting forward playing for Manchester United to actually score or assist at least 10 goals in over 60 games over season season, those are some ridiculous expectations! Fecking idiots all of them!

He's got zero pace to beat/get away from a man.
He has more pace than people give him credit for, probably more pace than even he realises. I've seen him beat full backs for pace, today included. He can do it, but too often takes the safe option of cutting back.

He probably doesn't have a lot of pace from a standing start like you'd see from a Vini or Mbappé, but when he hits his stride he's well capable of beating his man.

He doesn’t half make hard work of every single attack, but happy to see him break his duck. The most frustrating thing is even when he ends up on the left, he still never wants to beat his man on the outside for a cross.

I suspect he only stayed on as Kobbie and Rasmus were probably mandated subs in respect of sport science, managing their minutes.

Took his goal really well....

not a great or even good performance otherwise though. Found himself in some good situations but like our other attackers didnt produce

He reminds me of ETH and I dislike that man as a coach viscerally, so I might not be objective

Shame he was robbed out of his winning goal moment. (Similar to Mount a few weeks ago)

Antony is never going to win a Premier League medal, but today he had a decent game, by his standards at least.

Credit where it's due., He was better than usual today.

Never in a lifetime is he good enough to be a winger for a top team.
Since we probably won't be a top team for the fecking foreseeable future, the lad might as well stay with us.

His pace is negated by his onefootedness. Ive seen him beat players with quick acceleration but the defender always has a yard on him due to his inability to threaten on his right.

Didn't see that match, watched the highlights. He could have scored 3 or 4 goals. He has very good positional awareness, gets himself in good places a lot but his shots are always so soft, unconvincing, mishit. Good that he at least offered a threat.

It was against one of the worst teams in the league, mind.

Beast mode second half. Showed a great turn of pace for his goal.

As has always been the case this season, these players don’t get the reward they deserve for moments like this. I’ve watched footy enough to know that young players have turning point moments and games, whereas this season, every time one of ours has had one, we have conspired to snatch it away from them. 2 Hojlund goals against Galatasaray that really deserved to win the game, but instead got buried under the cloud and disappointment of a loss. A Garnacho ‘winner’ away At Emirates snatched from him. A breakout 2 goal performance from him at Stamford Bridge taken away from him by defensive stupidity. Mainoo had his moment at Wolves, but the denial of a winner against Liverpool by a mistake.

Antony has been under huge pressure and a winning goal in a PL game could have been a real boost for him. Sometimes, these moments are what finally makes a young player believe it. They have rarely gotten to enjoy their moment so far. Even Mason Mount at Brentford. All the difficulties he has had, a 96th minute winner is just what he’d have needed. But no, no nice things for us again.

It's great to see Antony redeeming himself by scoring a goal through his own effort and strength.

Far from his greatest fan but rather astonished by the vitriol spewed at a player who gave his best in the match and nearly won us the game.

His runs created quite a few good opportunities and I felt our wingers actually posed a threat today. Worked much harder than we usually see from his direct competitor Rashford

How is Rashford his direct competitor?
