To be fair Merino has really done as well as we could have hoped, but we need a proper forward.

Little worried about that ice pack on Saka's ankle.

Ridiculous tackle, nowhere near the ball.
Merino has better G/A/90 contribution than Jesus.

I am not sure that is much of an achievement. Although, Jesus was doing a bit better just before he did his knee in.

Not easy to do what Merino is doing. All the credit to him and Arteta on that one.

Timber is pretty Solid at RB, great footballer.
But White is just Awesome. White Saka Odegaard this trio is just great in that Right wing. Pretty spoilt for options in that RB position.

Timber is far more than “solid”. He completely shut down Vini Jr across two legs. He’s the best 1v1 full back in our squad. In fact, he’s one of the best in Europe at it.

I agree with you that White is different gravy going forward. Not only is he very technically proficient, but his style suits Saka and Odegaard like a glove. Despite starting as a CB, he loves to stay wide and offer an option on the outside. Whereas Timber naturally wants to underlap and this can lead to him occupying the same spaces as Saka and Odegaard. White is also a much better crosser of the ball.

I would still prefer Timber considering how unreal his defending is

I wish we would let him go. There is a sick feeling about him that stains the club. I thought we were pretty confident on Zubimendi...maybe not. I assume Jorginho is gone but I would have still thought with MLS able to fill in as well, that would be enough.

That yellow too by Partey was such a dozy moment.

Did Harry Kane ever win the Kings of the Capital trophy? If so, maybe we have been maligning him unfairly for years

16 London mini league wins in the the Premier League era, you'll never sing that!

Arteta is running out of excuses. 15 points behind Liverpool and a very poor performance against PSG. No trophies in 5 years and he's a definition of a serial bottler. He's clearly not good enough to win major trophies and Arsenal should hire a better coach who is a serial winner.

Keep him there forever, I say.

Arsenal being forever in the 'this is our year' mentality and it forever failing is amongst my favourite things.

Just gotta say Lewis Skelly is a bloody player and a half. Best Arsenal player on the pitch tonight. Martinelli the Garnacho clone robbed him of a motm performance.

Arteta is at least good at pressing the ball when it goes down his side.

The arm waving to the crowd  my god they're awful. When the commentator is getting annoyed by it you know its excessive. The seem to have no emotional control and I sense it all comes from the manager.

It's because they kept Arteta for so long. If their coach was Conte or Ancelotti this would be a completely different story. They haven't a trophy in 5 years despite having a very good squad.

They have a blind faith in Arteta and that will cost them trophies.

Their blind faith is justified to be fair. 5 years ago you wouldn't even imagine Arsenal in a title race or competing for a spot in the CL final. That is what he has overseen and why he's backed by their board. Sure, his style of play and the antics are horrendous to watch but he's backed for a reason.

And not once did it work

The crowd did not care.

Hoping they can get a proper striker this Summer instead of scraping down their pecking order with Vlahovic or Moise Kean.

Another semi final defeat. However the Newcastle one felt more one-sided than this tonight.

They'll need to rely on some good fortune to turn this around.

They're linked to Huijsen, might be the perfect option to rotate with Merino up top. He's very tall and excellent at set pieces.

Tell you what, if our new stadium ends up being as silent and soulless as the Emirates then I think I'll just pack in football all together.

Really? I don't see it really. Pretty sound defensively but seemed to treat the ball like a hot potato and always passed sideways or back. Also, I'm probably imagining it but it felt like his teammates were avoiding passing to him pretty regularly, like they don't trust him on the ball. I think he's fine but will wind up somewhere like Southampton or palace.

I am not saying that he is a bad coach. He did a great job at reviving Arsenal but they are clearly regressing as a team. 2 seasons ago they were 8 points ahead of City and bottled the title. All of the sudden city falls apart and instead of Arsenal winning the title, Liverpool with a new coach dominates the league.

In Europe, he's clearly better but why was he playing like a coward for the first 35 minutes? After all, PSG are also known as serial bottlers. It's clear to me that he isn't good enough to win the major trophies. He is more suited for clubs like Villa or Newcastle.

Arsenal have been less successful than us since Arteta took over. Pure bridesmaids and the football is getting less entertaining with each passing year.

Arsenal's biggest chance of the game was him receiving the ball with a tight marker on his back, spun him beautifully, carried the ball forward then played a perfect through ball for Martinelli to squander. I think he's amazing personally.

It's actually funny. Arteta is good enough to keep them close to winning something every year, but not good enough to actually win it for them.

Most of the new stadiums are so I wouldn't buy into the hype about the new Old Trafford.

The main design priority is always revenue from the posh seats...

Arsenal had no bench today pretty much, they've done well to get this far without Havertz and Jesus.
