I understand people criticizing him here for the performance, but he is clearly our biggest threat in attack in games like today and he obviously knows that just about any counter attack needs to come from him the way we are set up. People say that he cannot play in a possession based system, but I would rather see him fail with us trying to do that rather than not even bother to attempt it. It would be one thing if we were consistently creating chances through structured link up play and he was needlessly giving the ball away taking risks, but most of the time we do attempt to keep it it ends up being 2 or 3 sideways passes ending up with an aimless hoof.
I honestly and respectfully don't understand that type of argument.
He's our biggest threat because he plays in every match in his favoured position. If he didn't play (or wasn't in our club) then someone else would be in that position and they too would probably be the "biggest threat in attack".
It's all hypothetical arguments. If we have a different #8 with a different skill set to Bruno then maybe the team will play better as a whole.
United should not be the "Bruno team". He should be there to make us play better as a whole and I honestly don't think he does.
He has an unbreakable habit of preferring to moan to the referee or writhe around on the ground after a soft challenge during open play, ignoring the fact that him not being engaged in the passage of play is leaving us a player down for that moment (Rashford does the same thing BTW).
His Captain Chaos performances do not help us.
