Looks like Everton are winning a competitive game before Liverpool.

Villa are playing a pretty much full strength side aside from Cash and they look pretty poor.

Routine win in the end from Villa, 4-1. They needed that! So did we, even if it is just 1-0, to get the feeling of winning a fecking game is crucial. The need for a striker was once again well and truly emphasised tonight.

Gordon on the bench but didn’t come on (not that he needed to), telling that.

Can’t believe I don’t know the answer to this but how low down the PL table do you need to finish to have to play an extra round in this?

Bottom 13. Non-European teams.

We played it in 2014 and got dicked 4-0.

Nah didn't he play that entire season with us? Could swear he got banned for months for spitting and we never saw him again after that.

I was thinking of the MK Dons match under Van Gaal? He did last the rest of the season but was out of favour from that horror show onwards. Which felt unfair after playing such a big part in our amazing run of clean sheets the season before.

What round are we to be joining the competition?

We did clean sheets under Moyes? Honestly the only CS I can remember from that year was Mourinho coming to OT early in the season and parking the double decker.

United away to someone like Arsenal, Spurs or Chelsea and Dippers and Citeh to get a handy one at home. Nothing surer.

EDIT: 2 ex Dippers doing the draw

Chelsea to get some Sunday League team no one has ever heard of.

Another year, another Aston Villa cup fixture.

Slippy G at Home (who may not be in charge by the time it comes around). Could have been worse I suppose

FFS what a surprise handy home draw for the Dippers

City v Chelsea

EDIT: Arsenal v Brighton will be a cracking game

Well, that's City and Chelsea's bad cup draw used up for this century then.
