His form is very concerning. That being said, he did play a 5 AM game on Wednesday and then flew back from Brazil.

It's a failure of the club for not having anyone to fill in for him during times like these. Though I suppose some might say it's even a bigger failure to start a supposed reset with an 80 million 30-year-old player. We will see.

Every time we are linked with one of these Veteran stars those who are concerned are often shouted down. Real Madrid were busy retooling their midfield to take on the next decade while Utd are trying to squeeze the last out of stars on the way down. I understand the fans can lack perspective but FFS how many times before the club learns.

He should sit, been terrible to start the season defensively.

He's a big reason we've started as poorly as we have. He's been terrible this season.

Absolutely shocking, can’t run and loses the ball if anyone is within 5 yards of him. A wreck less and indulgent signing that can only be salvaged by shipping him off to Saudi Arabia in January.

On merit, he should not be starting games. Only reason he's in the team is because of injuries. At a serious club, he would be for sale as early as January. But we are Manchester United. He will see out his massive 4 year contract and then leave for nothing.

Cartman isn't the doing the job he was brought in to do. He looks out of shape, he looks tired, and he looks like he is doing everything in slow motion. A huge liability right now. We've conceded 10 goals already this season. Only Wolves and Burnley have let in more.

Just strolling about again, losing track of players as teams just play around him with quick passes, runners you name it.

Big liability at the moment, going into the summer we needed an upgrade for Eriksen but now we need one for him. Amrabat alone wont solve anything as he likes players playing close to him as well. We need a tactical turnaround to make that midfield work

Casemiro's use of the ball was, again, disappointing today. He plays such a pivotal role for us. We really can't afford for him to be so flat footed. The only thing he can say is we looked even worse without him.

Not a good game... Really worried that he can't turn it around, don't know if it was energy but he looks off. The fire of last season is gone? We really have a disadvantage if we have a midfield that consists of so many slow players, McTom, Casemiro, Eriksen, Bruno is ineffective but at least covers a bit of ground.

He's not regressed. This is the same standard as always.

The only difference is he hasn't got the new signing shield anymore. Or he's not scoring a big goal to mask his general performance.

Wouldn't surprise me if he's realising this season that the club really haven't progressed, and his job/responsibility in the middle of the park is made harder by the bunch of inept donkeys around him.

Feck off.

We bought him for big money in his 30s. That is never a good idea, as players can be past it very quickly after that.

How many times are we going to get burned by these players over 30 before we learn our lesson.

Players decline. Build a squad of players in their prime or approaching their peak, not players on the decline.

I still think he has been more bad than good for us. He had a purple patch or two last season but even then I thought he looked off of it way too much. This season has been even worse

This was my worry before we signed him, 30+ players can decline rapidly at any point. Hopefully Amrabat and a few of the youngsters can step up, or else we are in for a long and frustrating season.

Matic 2.0

Yeah, definitely looks like it. They both seemed to like attacking than defending in their last year for us too for some reason, probably sick of defending for years so they decided single handedly they should switch their position just for fun.

Casemiro has been incredibly poor at the start of this season. I'm still holding out some hope that he'll come good (he's always been a bit of a slow starter), but I'm very worried. It's not just what he's doing on the ball; just watching him move it almost looks like he thinks he's going to pull a hamstring if he breaks into a sprint. Strong vibes of being utterly physically finished.

His very poor effort on the first goal played a big part in us conceding, and that goal changed the match.

He’s in his Fabinho era. Saudi next summer

That and the constant lunging in. Can't help himself, 2/3 times a game he goes flying in when he could just track his man, often taking himself out of the game.

Might need the Saudi's to come knocking early than we'd hope. He's so slow it's painful and then when you've got Eriksen and Caspar as partners it's only amplified.

Yep. We need to ban the signings of players over 26. It just doesn't work for us. When was the last time City signed an old player?

He was fantastic for us most of last season.

Unfortunately, he now looks finished. It isn’t even lack of match fitness. He’s done.

Useless this season. Real sold at the right time - like most clubs selling to us.

No chance, he was clearly one of our best players last season and it was quite clear how much worse we were without him. This year he’s been shocking though

He’s had a great career but he’s an old man in this position really. Look at Kante for example

Very slow this season, very very slow reactions

Agree to disagree. Think he started slow, had a good patch, then once he started getting reds he finished horribly. Think people just remember his goals and think higher cause of that. Thought he looked old and slow last season but def not looking any better this

He's done.

Another signing that was short term gain only.

City signed Kovacic this summer, hes only a year younger than Casemiro when we signed him.

So can we now start listning to older guys like Souness?

Casemiro last year was breath of fresh air. This year he is so dissapointing.
