I think if you're in Pot 1 you can't complain about the group being tough if you dodge Valencia/Leverkusen and perhaps Leipzig. Pot 1 and Pot 2 are simply stronger bar Zenit, Shakhtar, Ajax and maybe Benfica.

No real group of death possible imo for the top clubs in Pot 1 or 2. A group of death would look something like Zenit, Benfica, Lyon, Leipzig where there would be fierce competition for every spot.
