Inter should have scored, will probably tire a bit second half.

Does Laturo Martinez start usually or is it Lukaku? Guy looks class on the counter.

Valverde doesn't have authority there. Hecis afraid to do some things which would change everything. Replace Suarez with Dembele and play with Griezmann in attack. Replace Busquets with Rakitic and play de Jong on his position.

El Clasico in the Europa League final should bring more prestige to the competition

Some people still seem to think it's purely down to a lack of quality though, and that more spending would fix the issues.
The way Inter are using Sanchez seems wise. At United he was being put on the wing, no real attacking patterns to the team so he had to wing it. Here he's central, little touches, movement, harrying and energetic even though he's not as quick as before. Very good.

You can no longer play Suarez-Messi together 100%.

And I don't even think Messi-Griezmann are that compatible either.

Both of them are best playing off a number 9.

Their team is extremely unbalanced.
You can see why they tried to sign Neymar. It was a much needed signing along with a defender. Instead they ended up with Griezmann who looks an absolute waste of space and money on that left wing.

I think they're were definitely issues within the club, much like Spurs at the moment, hence Lukaku and Sanchez being moved on. That said he never produced for us so can't say I'm disappointed to see him move on. He genuinely looked shot.

I think we all underestimate a true managerial skill can be managing an ego filled dressing room. Not easy to do at all.

I think Sanchez has maybe lost some of what he had at Arsenal, but in the right system he's still a player who has quality and can be an asset. Lukaku is the same, not a world class striker but a great goalscorer in the right side who can do damage, but he's not going to bail you out on his own if the team around him is dysfunctional.

Conte is definitely a great manager, no doubt about it. His Chelsea team first season were ruthlessly efficient and even second season they won a trophy. Not a huge fan of his style but you can't argue with the results he gets.

Their midfield tonight cost 230m!
Yet theyre forever being brought forwsrd on here ad an example to follow.
Liverpool killed this Baca side, the character is gone.
De Jong looks much better than his first games in a Barca shirt, he's going to be excellent for them for years. A lot of the others, character is the key word, they really lack it. Barca's superfluid football looked effortless, almost pre-ordained, but at its core were players of great character and talent working furiously hard, and this team completely lacks leaders.

They 1000% needed Neymar.

I know it's a delicate situation for Barcelona fans, but he'd be a massive upgrade for their team.

He's miles better than Griezmann and actually fits their team.

That makes far too much sense for Valverde to try. Carlos Perez/Dembele need to replace Suarez if they're to salvage anything from this match. Busquets too makes way too many mistakes these days and yet keeps starting.

Barcelona in 2011: dominate games through the superior midfield quality, control possession and shred teams through quick team accelerations. Occasionally rely on messi to fly solo

Barcelona in 2015: dominate games through the deathstar that is their forward line. Shred teams through accelerations of the front 3. Occasionally rely on anyone of those 3 to fly solo

Barcelona in 2019: rely on Ter Stegen to be the best player on the pitch. Also hope Messi can fly solo

This Barcelona-Inter game is solid proof that just looking at stats don't tell you the whole story. Take the score away, Barcelona are dominating every statistics of this encounter yet they look like Inter's victims so far in this game.

Why Barcelona don’t play Messi centrally as a “false 9” like the good old days, and move Griezmann to the right and Suarez to the bench?
Griezmann is not a wide player full stop.

He can't play there.

You'd have to play him behind a number 9 to get the best out of him.

Given that Barca weren't ALL that far away in their valuation for Neymar, it's going to hurt them even more they wasted 100m of their transfer kitty on Griezmann knowing full well that they'd not play him in his best position anyway. That left wing has been saved only by Alba for the last two years and you can see how much they're missing him today.

Argentinian club. Can't think of the name. Was cheap though. You wonder why no one else has a go at that price?
Dortmund was very interested in him and close to a deal (confirmed by the player himself).

so, is Umtiti finished or what? they gave him that massive contract a year ago after all, but he's not playing at all.

I don't think they'd have bought Griezmann if they knew Neymar wanted to leave, but you'd think they would have done some homework on that regard.

Alba is a huge miss too whenever he doesn't play.

Didn't he play wide at Sociedad? Or did he end up being at his best when he was moved centrally there too?

Messi can barely run, and Suarez doesn’t even look like a footballer anymore.

He truly shined once he was the 'second striker' at Atleti.

I think he started out wide at Atletico too before Simeone moved him.
