From the Muppetiers, to Nick on Speed to some 18 year old girl.

This thread is…interesting but never news worthy.

This is why the dodgy source tweets are so fecking annoying. We get loads of replies to the shit and it derails the thread.

Yep. Agreed

A lot worse than the usual posts where people pretend they have a clue what’s going on, we get loads of replies to the shit and it derails the thread

Even on this insanely obsessive thread the comments are slowing down. It is just a complete bore at this stage.

At this stage, chances of us getting a new owner is equal to Glazers staying.

Wouldn’t put it past it happening because I think the Glazers are too greedy and are over valuing the club

But I think now that it’s dragged on so long, their intention is to sell. I’m sure if it was minority or they weren’t intending on leaving that we’d know by now

Maybe don't tweet out garbage if you are uncomfortable with the backlash from it
Even the Reuters Tweet last week turned out to be nothing so people might as well post any old shit at this stage. This takeover won't be done for a while yet I reckon.

The Glazers already have the 2 bids. There's nothing more they need from Jassim and Ratcliffe to decide who wins. That's been the situation for weeks now.

Whatever the delay is, they must be waiting for something specific to happen. Maybe a sponsorship deal or the shirt release or a particular player signing or something. I can't believe they're still going over the same old number over and over again. There has to be a trigger point coming soon, hopefully.

They're probably dragging it out and not naming a preferred bidder to try to get the bids upped. It seems to have worked a few times so far, Qatar has reportedly made 5 bids by this stage. You'd have to assume Jim has made a similar amount.

They'll keep it going as long as they can.

I really think the auction process is over now. Looking doubtful, imo, that Ineos can up their bid - and if they do then Jassim will just trump it. There could be something that Raine/Glazer’s aren’t comfortable with Jassim’s bid though. Clearly neither bid is as high as they wanted, but that’s their own fault as a lot of money still needs to be spent to restore the club. Maybe they don’t want Jassim to turn the club around and make it clear to everyone just how bad they have been.

This has crossed my mind many times.

As I’ve said before, I think they have a very weird and toxic relationship with Man Utd and I think on some level they do actually resent the club and the fans.

Behave. Things are moving, it’s just because us fans are desperate for news, we shit ourselves when we don’t get any news. Reuteurs don’t post bollocks.

I really used to try to give them the benefit of the doubt, but more and more, they've been going out of their way to act like your typical one-dimensional cartoon villains.

Perhaps Ineos can't up their bid but the Glazers could be dragging it out on the off chance they can and they'll then in turn wait again to see if Qatar will trump it.

If that's the pattern this takeover has taken and it appears that it has. Then it would explain why a process that everyone thought would be over by March/April is looking like it will drag on into July/August and maybe beyond.

I never said it was bollocks, what they reported was true but it meant very little. What they reported amounted to Jassim/Qatar were negotiating with the Glazers. Well yeah no shit, everyone knows that.

Check out the Stretford Paddock interview with the journalist that broke that story. Confirms it wasn't the bombshell breaking news many made it out to be.

Its been 10 days since the guy from Reuters said something, which ended up being closer to nothing. I wouldn't hold my breath.
fecking hell, has it been 10 days since then…

If / when a proper sale were to be announced how busy do you reckon the caf will be Raoul? Cuz it seems like it’s gonna come out of the blue with the ‘no exclusivity’ stuff etc.

What’s the busiest it’s been before? Fergie’s retirement announcement?

If there's a sale, it will happen pretty suddenly imo. As in, a release will come out of nowhere that the Glazers have reached agreement to sell the club to one of the two bidders. If I had to guess, its going to happen sooner rather than later.

Clearly the calm before the storm.
Yeah there’s a reason it’s all gone quiet. When bids were going in and negotiations were happening there was loads of tactical leaks.

Will the share price fall off a cliff when the accounts are published tomorrow? Will the accounts have any bearing on the club valuation?

I'm aware that the buyers are already in possession of the numbers about to be published, so it shouldn't make any difference to them - but would a terrible quarter automatically reduce the value of the club on the stock exchange? Already down $0.50 over the weekend on pre-market opening - this week has the potential to go horribly wrong in terms of bad publicity from the published accounts, a poor shirt launch and potentially missing out to others on players we've been linked to.

I've no idea if share price is linked to trading activity or actual club valuation.

The longer this goes on, the more I think the extremely complicated Ineos deal is being favoured over the relatively simple buy-out option offered by Qatar. The former would take an inordinately long period to finalise.

The third and "final" round of bidding took place on 28 April - that we are still here more than 8 weeks later with no clearer idea of what is happening, is a bit farcical.

Both will take long.

If its Qatar then they need thorough checks and balances too.

This is a business transactions with NDAs, so being left in the dark isn't a sign of one party over another.
