At the end of the film the little kid says "I see dead people" and then Bruce Willis realises that he's been a robot the entire time.
No, no, you’ve got your films mixed up there mate.

At the end of the film the little kid says “Yippee-Ki-Ya, motherfecker” and Bruce Willis realises that Vincent Vega is taking a shit.

Mitten said it was the non-execs holding up the takeover with their review of the details of the deal. Also said there's no plans for INEOS to do anything in January even if they came in today.
They couldn't do anything anyway once its announced it takes another 6 weeks or so before its ratified by the Premier League and becomes official

NYSE is closed during xmas. So there goes our hope of getting an announcement. And god helps us if the stocks start plumetting at the start of the year, we might see 29 years bear market where glazers are reluctant to sell and instead buying more stocks from the public for their grandsons to sell 100 years later.

Yeah it's a shame they won't be able to have any impact until the summer, however that became obvious when no announcement in November international break

It’s closed on Christmas Day only, and announcements regarding company restructuring are only allowed when the market is closed anyway. So you can expect an announcement to happen either over a weekend or before the market opens in the morning or after it closes in the evening.

I disagree. The super league wasn't scrapped because of legal impediments, it was more to do with the fan outrage.
It was scrapped because of the outrage from English football as a whole and the promise that the government would simply make it illegal for English clubs to join if they followed through with it. Welcome to Britain that’s outside of these EU laws.
It’s dead in the water mate.

The European Super League will happen, in one shape or form - It's inevitable and ultimately they don't give a feck about what the fans think.
Especially if other big clubs are in. FOMO.

Plus considering how inconsistent we are with the CL, the owners are bound to sign on

said it in another thread there.... with the Super League potentially back.. expect Glazers to ride this one out as long as they can now.

Dont be surprised if they somehow attempt to alter the INEOS deal. be that changing the proceedings of a staged buyout so they can stay, or raising the value of the club due to the potential ££ of the super league.

Without some kind of investment the club will eventually crumble financially, possibly into administration. Now they have 2 options on their hand, INEOS / Super League. The ideal scenario for them is both, with the option of staying (I doubt INEOS would agree to that though)

The new format UCL from next year is basically the ESL anyway.

To make the ESL “interesting” they need to have promotion and relegation. Otherwise it has the same issues or before of it being closed off and for the big boys.

ESL as far as I can remember was never a replacement for the domestic leagues anyway, it was a separate competition.

I have a much easier time believing the Glazers have dragged their heels in anticipation of this court ruling, as opposed to the Rat Pack having trouble with UEFA because of Nice (something they would have been aware of when they launched their bid).

On top of whatever inflated revenues the Glazers think the Super League would bring, the Super League could potentially be a huge barrier to entry for anyone thinking they can spend their money more wisely by purchasing a tinpot for peanuts and then pouring money into building the club.

United were the first team to come out and support UEFA competitions and in so dismissing the ESL, so what does that really mean?

We know the glazers are greedy cnuts, so do they mean it or are they just waiting for a more palatable alternative?

They don't want to be the first to take the hit. If there is momentum I feel them might join.

I agree but once the UK government have set up an independent regulator to stop such a thing, how will this happen? I think the ESL needs the premier league clubs on board for it to work surely.

Those statements should be treated as completely meaningless in the long term. Everyone should fully expect that if they will ever get an oppportunity to get more money from this they will immidiately do a complete 180.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s deal to buy 25 per cent of Manchester United was in final negotiations on Thursday night. The Ineos team and Glazer family are understood to have been working all week to try to complete the paperwork in order to start the process of approvals though, even if concluded on Friday, it will be weeks into the New Year before it can be fully ratified by the Premier League and other regulators.

The complications of how to split authority between the sporting side and commercial business are thought to be among the reasons why talks have taken so long, with staff battling to tie up countless details and legalities.

There had been suggestions of a three-man board of Ratcliffe, Joel Glazer and Sir Dave Brailsford on the footballing side, giving Ineos a CASTING VOTE, but the final settlement is likely to give the petrochemicals billionaire FULL SAY on any major football decisions such as transfers and the future of Erik ten Hag, the manager.

Approval for the deal, with the Premier League needing to ratify and Uefa also involved in discussions given that Ineos also own OGC Nice, could take another four to six weeks so Ineos would not be taking formal control of transfers until after the January transfer window. [Times Sport]

Is everyone asleep lol?

When a deal is announced, it is expected to offer clarity on how a new board will be split and also confirmation that Ratcliffe is willing to put around £245 million of his fortune into infrastructure projects, notably to upgrade the Carrington training ground and improvements to Old Trafford. The long-term plan is to expand the stadium from its 74,000 capacity to 90,000.

It's good, but still weeks away. Come back when it's next week I guess. Also, it's yet to be determined how sloped the Times journalist forehead is, which seems to be an important factor.

Too many false dawns. We all know that nothing will get announced tomorrow, or any time soon.

Feels weird here now though. Remember it here months ago? You could pop to the toilet, come back and then there would be 3 more pages.

It now feels like visiting a beach in November. Once so full of life, now it’s just a few lonely bastards scattered about walking their dogs

Everyone will be back when something does eventually get announced

Joel remains on the footballing side.
Probably. But the article is saying the opposite

So no 3 man board? If Ratcliffe is indeed given that much control this has to be a structured full takeover masquerading as a a minority bid, surely?
I also suspect there is more to this than has been reported, but we will only know for sure when there is an official announcement.
