According to that BBC article posted here, from Wednesday fans will need to show a negative test result or proof of vaccination. Not sure how united will/if they will implement it mind.
It’s more interesting why on earth they hadn't needed to beforehand.

What's the chances of Brighton being called off? I'm travelling up from London and rushing around for Covid tests specifically for it.
What are the covid tests for?
Double Jabbed and NHS cert good enough?

Asking as I’m going and only have the latter sorted.

There's been nothing confirmed on either being a requirement yet. There may be the odd spot check but I doubt they'd enforce it.
Then football will end up back behind closed doors and no football club wants that, nor do the match day fans. We'll see how it goes.

Pull the offer. He isn't Tom Brady where he is going to continue to improve with age. He breaks down yearly, misses numerous games and can't be relied on to be healthy for a full season. Take the money elsewhere.

Just saying there’s a strong possibility. When in doubt, caution must prevail.
It wouldn’t surprise me, but from the information we have right now I would have thought it would go ahead unless there’s more positives before the weekend

If there were only 4 tests positive im amazed the game got postponed
Apparently the reason for the postponement is not that we didn't have enough players or anything like that - it's because we had to shut Carrington down for a day and "couldn't prepare for the game"

The PL seem to have tried to force us play the match, and we've dug our heels in.

It might suck for our away fans but why can't we play Wednesday or even Thursday if it was just that lack of training?

It feels a bit of an abuse of the system and even if we benefitted this time, what if Brighton say, they're not playing?

You can still get Covid even after being vaccinated. Apparently.
Well, yeah. Just cause you're vaccinated doesn't mean covid19 sees a flashing sign above your head saying "do not enter" or you have a forcefield. It'll still enter your lungs and start to replicate. Your body will recognize it due to the vaccines and start to destroy it. The time between those events is hard to guage I guess, but for 19/20 people you'll have minor symptoms while your body fights it. For 5% of people it isn't as effective. Which is why everyone should get the shot, to protect those 5%.

Where the grass is greener.
There's no apparently about it. This is a well known and well publicised fact?

Amazed people still don't know this shit two years in.
It's terrifying how people still don't know simple basic things like that, I give up with how many seem to be happily living in the dark when it comes to something that has changed our lives probably forever.

Bit of a weak excuse given the time between games, I doubt we've have done anything too intensive training wise.

Carrington was closed again today so tomorrow is not a option and Thursday isn’t a option as we play early Saturday.

Is that your own point of view or is there a source ?

Yup! Breakthrough case is likely the name you'll hear for those cases. Thankfully not as severe...so far as we know .
I thought a breakthrough case was one that put you in the hospital even if vaccinated but as you state it's just one that gets infected.

I'm travelling in from overseas the day before so I need the test to get out of isolation.

This postponement held us. We have not yet purged Oleism out of our system but another week of even studying video of nothing else will help the players immensely.

afaik there's nothing official on numbers/names.

Ronaldo already tested positive for CoVid at Juve. Not sure if it means anything though.

It could also simply be that we actually have a few cases with key players testing positive. Sounds more logic to me than just a lack of training, as we probably could have ask for a day or two more training.

No it doesn't help us. Watching videos isn't going to help as much as actually training and playing out what's required.

We're not even talking about the side effects of covid even after recovery which has people complaining about fatigue and shortness of breath.

Id assume if the infected people have been sent home and the rest of the squad have been regularly tested since, there shouldn't be an issue with playing Brighton. So long as we've had zero positive tests since then.

Talking about those side effects, we need to acknowledge them into our criticism of players if they do not play well (for instance Pogba kept getting destroyed last season after having returned from Covid). As a fanbase, we need to be more understanding
