I can't wait to see this lineup below

James Ronaldo Greenwood

Lingard

Will be a sight for sore eyes.

How much would he likely cost IF we sign him? He's not a free agent like Cavani was is he? Hopefully we don't, but will we include Pogba in the deal?

Sorry, but I think we are second choice after he couldn’t extort the money out of City. Hope I’m wrong and perhaps SAF called him and bollocked him. Still, we may get a season out of him in one half cameo’s. Also still believe the salary will cause unrest in the dressing room. Just hope he doesn’t make a fool of himself.

Love it.......away cry elsewhere

it's a fun signing for United fans, probably would have been a fun signing for us just for the banter, but 2 year deal at £300k per week is still a bloody lot of money for a 36 year old. Anyone any idea what his transfer cost is, we were apparently fudging over £25m, what are United paying?

 talking about money, that's cute.
Oil club with bottomless pit of money doesn't care about money.

POGBA STAYING CONFIRMED.

Although this City PR is embarassing

5. Violett 179
6. Best 179
7. Spence 168
8. Giggs 168
9. Hughes 163
10. Scholes 155
11. Van Nistlerooy 150
12. Pearson 148
13. Herd 145
14. Taylor 131
15. McClair 127
16. Solskjaer 126
17. Cole 121
18. Ronaldo 118

So where does he end up. Over two seasons should sneak into the top 10? Maybe around Giggs?

Medical in Lisbon. Then when he lands in Manchester he'll be quarantined for 2 weeks. On top of that Ole will protect him by not playing him for another 5 weeks, we'll see him playing in October and that's when Rashford comes back so he's being put back on the bench. We'll see Ronaldo playing regularly in 2022.

By the time Ronaldo makes his first appearance at OT, we’ll have to bring him out in a wheelchair!

I can’t believe this is really happening, completely surreal 24 hours ago. Fear factor is back... and we are firmly in a title race. Ronaldo is a cnut, but at least he will be our cnut again

Guys, every reputable source is saying he's joining City. One Rio tweet doesn't change that.
Probably attention seeking promoting his new channel
Exactly and that's the point. When Ronaldo inevitably signs for City, he'll just say his tweet wasn't about denying the move. He's just being an attention seeking prick, at a time he knows that united fans will cling on to any hope.
Nah he is going to City.

United fortunately can’t afford him.
I hope we don't sign him. Don't want a season with Ronnie constantly flapping his hands in frustration.
I don't really want him back, but I don't really want him at City either. Meh.
he’s not coming here; we don’t want him and he doesn’t want us. Just bittersweet that he’s going to city; personally my love for him is now gone- but that’s life. Think what he does for them off the pitch is more damaging than what he will do for them on it- this is a huge signing for them statement wise. Winning the title will be all the more sweet now. Lets hope we can get it done !
Nothing credible
Don't worry lads, we are getting Haaland next season. Let City sign the grandpa.
Ronaldo wants one more Champions League. Guardiola can win the Champions League. Discussion over.
Rumours doing the rounds that we turned him down. If true, just sums up what I've been saying for at least two years now: there is something very wrong at the heart of the club...
Doubters

I can't deny that I'm buzzing, but I'm not that surprised, it's why I didn't jump off the deep end when it looked like he was going to City, I think Mendes and Ronnie smoked us out. He'll instantly be the best striker at the club, but the teams issues will continue due to the midfield dross.

Would be iconic if he made to the 7th spot.

Whether this happens or not, if you hate the thought of Ronaldo returning it then you really don't get how football used to be more than just money and trophies and actually had some romanticism.

He's one of us.

You lot can be really deluded, just yesterday he was offering himself to Manchester City ffs

"Well, there he is, Pep III. Cristiano Ronaldo. 17 caps for the Vatican over 75s. Looks after himself, drinks only very, very fine wine. Can climb two flights of stairs unassisted, needs only one nun to help him get out of a chair. You haven’t a chance."

A Kenwood juicer would be nice :D
But I'm just relieved that there's such a turnaround to this story today, Ronaldo joining City will ruin the entire season. Football will be unbearable.

I almost abandoned United for City, just because of Ronaldo. Not.

Seriously, i felt kinda devastated with that City move also. I always think he's one of us.

Does anybody know what are the squad rules? If he does join, don't we have to get rid of at least 1 or 2 senior players?

People get caught up over his age while not recognizing he still scored basically a goal a game for Juventus last year and was top scorer in Serie A despite of Juventus struggles. He’s a machine and probably in better condition at 36 than most footballers are going to be at 30.

Of course he isn’t a long term option, that’s why we are signing him on a 2-year deal and with fairly small amounts involved reportedly. He will no doubt get us goals, he will increase our brand and will make us better. After those two years we will no doubt be in the market for a new striker - possibly even next year - but this should not impact that pursuit at all. We knew we would need a new forward, financially it won’t matter that we are getting Ronaldo now as a stop gap signing. In terms of having someone to finish the chances that we create he’s just about perfect. With the set pieces we executed on Sunday against Southampton we would have won that game 4-1 with him on the pitch.

I am sort of excited. He will bring some allure back to United.
But he would expect to START every game.
How is that going to work? Whose place will he take? Cavani? Rashford? Greenwood?

How much would he likely cost IF we sign him? He's not a free agent like Cavani was is he? Hopefully we don't, but will we include Pogba in the deal?
He will pay for himself in shirt sales and other sponsorship deals so it's a no brainer signing him. If numbers about PSG making €140m from Messi shirt sales are to be believed then we could make a killing with Ronaldo both on and off the pitch.

haha but honestly there really isn't, time will tell but I'm not convinced he's perfect for either team at the moment.

Of course he isn't mate. But it's about the romance of it all, football can be more about just money and trophies and this is a great story.

You'll get a story like this one day, and when you do enjoy it for being what it's all about rather than all the exaggerated fluff that goes on these days my friend ;)
