Gaming Cyberpunk 2077 (PC, PS4/5, Xbox One)

I keep getting the informational boxes just sticking on the screen, for example I've had Muzzle info just stuck on the screen for about 10 minutes with no way of getting rid of it.

Played for an hour, done the tutorial.

The frame rate seems to randomly drop occasionally.

Anyone got a graphics card similar to a 5700 XT? Hoping I can run medium settings at 1440p okay

Enjoying it so far but the city does feel very dead. Hardly any cars and I’m just running along the water in Japantown and it’s deserted. Barely a person or a car. I never see any crowds of people.

The amount of side jobs I have already is mad  had some random woman calling me with jobs since the start of the game and now random people telling me about cars for sale.

Playing on the ps5 the performance seems decent but the graphics are mediocre at best, feels like I’m playing at 720p or something. I’m just a couple of hours in but it’s not grabbing me yet.

I don't get the argument that the game looks bad. Sure, rather than next gen it's a straight up PS4 game that has been in development for 7 years and was never intended to launch after the new consoles. But even for a PS4 game I honestly think it looks good for an open world game with so many NPCs etc.

Though I tried the HDR10 mode or w.e it's called in the settings, but didn't think it made much difference

These glitches man  I wanted to see what happened if I did something to some NPCs. When I go back over to him at the end

It's a GTX 970. It runs OK on low to medium settings but the framerate is similar to the PS4 version. Looks better but not by that much, at least not to my unsophisticated eye.

My PS5 is set to arrive in a couple of days though.
I use to run a 970 lovely card, it’s the VRAM, it would run so much more if it had more than 3.5gb. What res are you running?

1080p. Not going lower than that because, well, what's the point then?

PS5 is coming tomorrow so looking forward to 60 fps at 4k.

Just feels a bit cheap and old hat with stuff like that. Like it’s ps2 or something.

Thought I was paying some guy for entrance to a strip club or something... nope. Cutscene of me fecking him

I have that exact card and it runs like a dream in 1080p, most settings max so you should be fine I think.

I'm 7.5 hours into the game now and honestly, this is one of the best games I've played. It's over-delivered for me (although I did avoid all the previews and only really got interested in the weeks leading up to release!)

I found it quite overwhelming with all the mechanics at first but it didn't take me long to get used to them and start to enjoy how they worked.

Seems like I got lucky as I've only had one crash and I think it was to do with old graphics drivers.

Love cutting motherfeckers up left right and fecking centre

Is that PS5? The graphics look so... linear. Reminds me of old GTA games.

Yeah. I think the upload makes it lower in quality a bit. They are basically PS4 graphics but it’s not terrible in the slightest IMO.

It's weird how some things look all shiny and nice and some textures look PS3 to feck

It sounds counterintuitive but sometimes running at a higher res helps. So maybe try running at 1440p on low settings (the gpu will downscale that to 1080p) it may mean better frame rates and better image quality.

Is it 4k60?

I'm on performance mode but could switch to quality. If the only diff is 4k though I'm not arsed. Average graphics don't look better with sharper edges.

On my 3070 it looks amazing. I think a couple of patches and you’ll see performing better at higher resolutions on the consoles
Yeah, fingers crossed. How do NPCs look? They seem to be the worst looking thing in the game at the mo.

Ew just tried quality mode. It's deffo 30fps and it makes my eyes hurt now.

This is my biggest battle, I just havent yet got the controls as muscle memory yet so its slowing me down a fair bit. Add in the fact the game is so overwhelming with the amount of detail in it and it reminds me of my first few days of GTA5 online, I was completely lost then. I think I may restart with a new character so I can work my way through learning whats going on as there is a lot to take in at the beginning

Not convinced on this game tbh. Plus, I had a game crash and error show up within first 30 minutes of playing on PS4, never had that before. Have requested a refund from PSN. This game is a flop compared to the amount of hype it had.

10 hours in, I’ve had the game crash three times, seen my fair share of bugs, and framerate drops and low graphical textures and stuff.

Still loving it, though. So much to do in terms of upgrading yourself, and I can imagine feeling like quite a bad-ass towards the end. I just got me a katana, and if you can rush people it is super effective in taking people down.

Can’t wait to see it patched some more. Or better still, getting me a PS5 to play it on!

Feel like NIght City is a sign of what's to come in Berlin once it gets ruined.

I’m about 10 hours in I think. Initially while I was enjoying it, it wasn’t quite hooking me, but tonight that’s changed. I’ve played for 6 hours and haven’t even touched a main story. I just stuck to a really small area doing quests, clearing hideouts. Managed to get myself about £60,000 and bought a new car and some ripperdoc enhancements. Some of the mini bosses are really fun too. The game is actually now beginning to hit my expectations. Once that next gen patch hits, there’s nothing to stop it for me.

I have had about 3/4 hard crashes but the bugs have been fine, certainly recall Skyrim being far worse back on the PS3 but even so I hope the patches and updates on PS5 will help smooth it out further

I actually really enjoy the stealth, go in and use my hacks to blind enemies then sneak in and take them out. It’s made me want to focus more on my net running skills now after initially kind of being average at everything.

Also it’s worth repeating, the verticality and density they have managed to get into the city is probably the best I’ve seen in an open world game. Not without issues clearly but they have nailed that element.

It looks pretty shit let's be honest

On PC with Ray tracing it's still a mixed bag. One minute it can look stunning (far better than anything you've seen or will see on the consoles with this game), the next plastic and old when the rtx isn't doing much and you get up close to some of the characters in corridors. The main thing though is that it doesn't have it's own style, you've seen this all before. There's literally nothing new, nothing that stands out as "cyberpunk" in it's own right so far, but maybe that changes down the line.

Also I'm not sure why some think the character creation is amazingly detailed, it's really not. You are set in a style and can't really change your body/face shape, there's about 4 tattoo options, you can't even custom colour. I think being able to give yourself a bigger dick seems enough to convince people it's deep

On the other hand, as I said before, the shooting/fighting are actually ok and even though it's clearly taken a lot from Riddick/Syndicate, it's managed to at least get those bits working well enough. It has potential, but it's clearly unfinished and not in the "it needs patches to stabilise way", but more in the Bioshock: Infinite debacle of having to reign in ideas kind of way. Hopefully we get it fixed, then DLC to expand the game to it's full potential much like Blood and Wine.

The world is so cool. Blade Runner style to a tee. Right up my street. Love all the nooks and crannies. Would be great to explore a city like this in real life.

Yeah I thought the character creation was a bit limited. Particularly the piercings and tattoo parts. Hopefully that will improve, although it's not a huge deal, as I'd still be able to make 3 very different looking people, for each background. Still slightly annoyed the hair colours looked so different in the creation part. My guy now has grey/blonde hair instead of the green it showed. Still looks quite cool though.

Yeah it's not bad as such, but clearly they wanted to do more. I just wonder what games people have been playing to think it's deep in any way.

Still think it's the dick thing, or even people seeing a vagina for the first time even if it's on a 3d model

I'm on about 7 hours in and I'm not going to lie its been a very "meh" experience. I guess 8 years of hype will do that.

For me it's because I've played this game before. And in better versions.

And I'm really trying to love it, but when it has clearly borrowed so much of it's parts and misses what made the Witcher 3 great (unique story, setting, characters), I think meh does kinda sum it up at the moment.
