Some pretty damning stories on Martial that I'd never heard before
"You know, Martial sulks for different teams he played for, you know." Unbelievable amount of "you know" in the video, i was done after 10 minutes.Any summary? 50 minutes is a long listen.
Or it pushes him to try harder to keep the centre forward slot? If he doesn't have the drive and determination to face competition he will fail at every top club.Said in another thread, getting a new first choice striker in the summer and continuing with the 4-2-3-1 will probably push Martial back onto the left which will bring up all those old arguments about him again. Also, Rashford plays best from the left.
The Martial chat finishes roughly around the 20 minute mark but the whole video is worth a watchAny summary? 50 minutes is a long listen.
Then he can bloody go. He'd have to take a step down, because no top club is going to gamble on him being their number 9, and we shouldn't be either. If United were to bring in Halaand and Martial is either placed back onto the left-side or put into a situation where he has to compete for a role in the starting 11 then, soon enough, you'll be hearing murmurs in the press of him looking elsewhere being leaked from his agent.
He played the rotation role for Jose for 2 seasons straight and he clearly didn't enjoy it. There's no way he'd do it for a future campaign.
Then he should leave. If mister doesn't want to compete or rotate, he has nothing to do in a team that want to reach the top....If United were to bring in Halaand and Martial is either placed back onto the left-side or put into a situation where he has to compete for a role in the starting 11 then, soon enough, you'll be hearing murmurs in the press of him looking elsewhere being leaked from his agent.

Started like HenryHe's 24 in a few weeks, I'm not saying he's an OAP before people jump on me, but he's not 20 anymore. There's only so long we can point to the moments of brilliance. He's barely progressed since he's got here. I desperately want him to fulfil he's clear potential, but I'd be lying if I said I believe he will, at least at Utd.
People who talk like we shouldn't bring in another striker because we have him are quite frankly mad.
Many on here in love with the idea of what Martial could be, and not what he currently is. He's got all the materials to be very good, but is unbelievably frustrating.
I hope it can click for him, maybe with more quality around him, some better coaching, we'll see more from him.
If he can't handle that, why should we accommodate him (in any way)? He isn't a player who has established himself in any shape or form at the highest level. If United were to bring in Halaand and Martial is either placed back onto the left-side or put into a situation where he has to compete for a role in the starting 11 then, soon enough, you'll be hearing murmurs in the press of him looking elsewhere being leaked from his agent.
Haven't watched the video but Daniel Taylor did an article in the Athletic about him where he claims that one of his teammates in the LVG era told him that he was convinced Martial ducked a game because he couldn't be bothered. He trained properly shortly after. Please give us the gist.
Also a situation with Jardim where Martial was subbed on and 20 minutes later subbed off due to a lack of influence in the game.Haven't watched the video but Daniel Taylor did an article in the Athletic about him where he claims that one of his teammates in the LVG era told him that he was convinced Martial ducked a game because he couldn't be bothered. Also quotes Ranieri who said he had a poor mentality whilst at Monaco, broadly that he wasn't driven enough.
Who's going to pay him 200k a week elsewhere? If United were to bring in Halaand and Martial is either placed back onto the left-side or put into a situation where he has to compete for a role in the starting 11 then, soon enough, you'll be hearing murmurs in the press of him looking elsewhere being leaked from his agent.

I think it all depends on Martial, doesn't it? If he performs well, and plays at his best, there's no reason he can't force his way into the starting lineup. But do I believe he's got that about him? Probably not, didn't see up for it when we signed Sanchez. When I think of our current front three of Rashford, James & Martial....a BIG if, but if we were to sign Haaland and Sancho, then surely Martial would be the odd man out...?
Lots of discussion about a club called Manchester United. Please give us the gist.

That's nearly 20 appearances less, almost a seasons worth of opportunity considering he has hardly played centrally too. Not too bad.Martials premier league stats:
Appearances121Goals37Assists20
random other average rated striker stats: i promise i picked a random striker, not at a top 6 club ( to make a point - so there was some bias there)
Appearances139Goals37Assists18 (Troy Deeney)
and another random one:
Appearances104Goals38Assists11 (Callum Wilson)
would either of them be described as World Class or having world class potential? and yet their output over the last 5 years matches that of our Antony.
To be fair Martial has played largely on the left and I’d also like to know how many of those appearances were full games he’s made a lot of sub appearances etc.Martials premier league stats:
