Don't feed the troll ... Or something
You won't get a good faith response on this forum as could be seen by the disappearing act after the west ham game and then the return once ddg had nothing to do against wolves

De Gea's clean sheet stats

1-0 win @ Southampton 5 saves
1-0 win @Leicester 2 saves
0-0 vs Newcastle 2 saves
2-0 win vs Tottenham 2 saves
1-0 win vs West Ham 5 saves
3-0 win vs Forrest 3 saves
1-0 win @ Wolves 3 saves
3-0 win vs Bournemouth 4 saves
2-0 win @ Leeds 6 saves
3-0 vs Leicester 3 saves
0-0 vs Southampton 4 saves
1-0 win vs Brentford 1 save
2-0 win vs Everton 1 save
2-0 win @ Forrest 0 saves
1-0 win vs Villa 1 save
2-0 win vs Wolves 0 saves

total of 42 saves in 13 games, or 3 saves per game. Most of which were saves any keeper would be expected to make. This award is because of our defense, not because of our keeper. But good on him for "winning" the golden glove this year. Hopefully it's a nice "good-bye" gift that will make his value go up a little when we hopefully sell him

Some other interesting stats

4-0 loss to Brentford on only 7 shots
6-3 loss to City on only 10 shots
7-0 loss to Liverpool on only 8 shots
3-2 loss to Arsenal on only 5 shots
3-1 loss to Villa on only 4 shots

So in these matches where we had our most goals against of the year, on only 34 shots De Gea saved 11 shots and allowed 23 goals
Very damning for someone who makes saves that other keepers can't

Bournemouth 0:1 Man Utd
Well done on the golden glove.

Bet the haters must be conflicted? Or is this the only stat that doesn't really mean anything?

1 very good save in first half and then crucial one in second half. And well done on golden glove!

Nah, not conflicted. Its still an easy decision for me to let him go on a free. He made some good saves and the one near the end was vital. However, if we want to play further up the pitch than he isn't the goalkeeper for United.

The xG percentile of the pythagorean theorem clearly states that when we get battered it's on Dave and if it's a clean sheet, it's thanks to our defenders.

Well said. Well done on DDG and a good game today. But he isn’t at the standard that we need to get to the next level.

He did his job and he'll get an award for it. It's not that complicated.

Sure we need a keeper, but a new addition in this team won't help much without overall club improvements in multiple areas.

Superb saves & cool nerves from Dave today.

It's not in any way difficult to downplay clean sheet stats as a measure of goalkeeper performance, it is and always has been poor in that regard. For many reasons, the main one being evident in the fact that Joe Hart won the golden gloves four seasons in five at one point.

That said, I like De Gea and I like players I like getting awards, so it's all good. If I was him I'd take a lot more pride in having overtaken Stepney for appearances this season though, that's a much bigger achievement.

In a dream world he'd bow out of the club at the end of the season with all of that to go with the Carabao cup and FA cup winner medals in his back pocket. But unfortunately I suspect he'll be kept around for a less neat exit.

Happy for him, congrats on the award.
Hopefully hopefully one more medal in our last game of the season

Well done. Deserves a dignified send-off, and hopefully he gets it with an FA Cup winner's medal.

We need to improve on more than ddg if we want to play further up the pitch.

Congratulations on winning the Golden Glove David. Didnt put a foot wrong today. kept us in the lead with a couple of great stops , distribution was far better too..

Good game and well done on the golden glove award. Hopefully we can either find a good ball playing replacement or a young gk to challenge him in the summer.

I am sure a new GK able to play further up the pitch will make our two 80m wingers better and our striker options not fall on their arse.

There can be more than one problem at the club at a time. DDG, wingers, strikers (or lack thereof) are the issues that need to be upgraded on. A controlling midfielder too would be nice.
