Never got a response. A shame, as I was genuinely interested.I was watching the game (not this thread) so I would be interested in these too.

You rarely get a response when you ask someone to back up those kind of claims sadly.Never got a response. A shame, as I was genuinely interested.
Per google, it wasn’t.Yeah I'm muslim and pray and know the times here but no idea about there.
All the people I saw walking off did so simultaneously and were dressed the same. I just wondered if it was simply a case of walking off because they were bored or something else. My first thought, based on those walking off, was is it prayer time?
To be fair the media over drive on Qatar has really damaged peoples ability to think rationally about the whole thing. How stupid do you think Qatar is?
I’ve you can’t understand why wearing a short skirt at night is a bad idea….if you can’t understand why standing up and making a bribery sign with your hands surrounded by angry locals is a bad idea…
They've blown their budget so extras only go to games for one half or as soon as the game is beyond reach, whichever comes first. All the people I saw walking off did so simultaneously and were dressed the same. Not worth bring out quotes but there were glib remarks about Qatari players being executed for their first half performance, bone saws being used on Ecuadorians, stonnings, beheadings. Best to just call them out when they happen than let them become a thing on the forum.Never got a response. A shame, as I was genuinely interested.
Yes indeed. To be fair the media over drive on Qatar has really damaged peoples ability to think rationally about the whole thing.
and yet you didTry to entertain 2 thoughts at the same time. The ultimate victim here would be the daughter. To be fair, I don't believe anything is going to happen to him, but it is at best reckless in such a country. You don't need to bring your kid along when you intend to provoke people, knowing very well there might be risk for repression. This is of course no excuse for that possible violence...
The game kicked off 7pm local time.Yeah I'm muslim and pray and know the times here but no idea about there.

Mate, it's there for everyone to see. You'd think you'd have read the thread which you have been active on instead of trying to dismiss people. You rarely get a response when you ask someone to back up those kind of claims sadly.
Unfortunately, in my view, the whole situation has become extremely divisive, emotional and political. Any negative comment about anything is seen as an attack on the entire Arab community and all things Qatar, Arab, and Muslim. No doubt that there will be some posters here, though, with an inappropriate dislike to all those things too. That’s why I was keen to see who and what was posted. Not even to challenge his view as such, but to see which of the two above was potentially the case. You rarely get a response when you ask someone to back up those kind of claims sadly.
Actually, yeah, that was 90 mins so ~270 deadWatching. Paint. Dry. Scummy FIFA. May the dead RIP.
You what? How much do you want to bet that will happen?I can see Qatar throwing their toys out the pram and trying to cancel the WC when they're officially knocked out the group stage
the implication is that it will. Do try and keep up, luvHas unnecessary violence occurred in this situation?
And of course such comments are not appropriate. Not worth bring out quotes but there were glib remarks about Qatari players being executed for their first half performance, bone saws being used on Ecuadorians, stonnings, beheadings. I just googled and Isha (the last prayer of the day was 6.15). Truth is they just didn't want to stick around. The game kicked off 7pm local time.
Qatar specifically asked for this game to be today and at this time. Surely there's no way they'd want it to clash with a time to pray.
It kind of is imo. I mean man city struggle to fill their ground and they play amazing football. Having people go in a Qatar and Ecuador match isn't a Biggie. Of course if it was prayer time then good on them.nit picking
Qatar didn't look overly defensive or anything like that, I don't expect them to play like City. I don't think it's too much to ask for to have a shot on target though.
They were fecking awful and the stadium looked half empty by the 2nd half.
That's not nit picking.
Mate, it's there for everyone to see. Maybe read the thread instead of trying to dismiss people.
What on earth are you about? It kind of is imo. I mean man city struggle to fill their ground and they play amazing football. Having people go in a Qatar and Ecuador match isn't a Biggie. Of course if it was prayer time then good on them.
As for games, first half was ok and second half crap. But as a utd fan having a poor display is nothing new. Similarly with the players available England are boring as feck in tournaments (bar the odd game).
As I said I find international football is often boring and tedious. Slower paced and defensive. A lot of games a borefest. Don't think that's something to beat Qatar with.
Just my opinion of course

He is a lad.Goly, you are a snitch?
Dude it’s 9:45 in Qatar now. So the game finished at what, around 9?You may well be right and thanks for looking it up.
One thing I will say is if Isha enters at 6.15 the mosques won't be reading at that time. That would be the earliest time you can read it. So in England for example Isha entering is about an hour and a half after Maghrib (which is prayed quickly) but not unusual to be an hour or two after it's entered
Yeha I wouldn't expect the jamat to start at 6.15. But personally I don't think this is the reason they left early. It's a shame they didn't stick around for their team. You may well be right and thanks for looking it up.

To be fair, rather than elusive “the media pushing their agenda”, Qatar’s own decisions and backtracking on their own promises have damaged how people perceive them and their PR stunt. You might try to spin it whatever way youTo be fair the media over drive on Qatar has really damaged peoples ability to think rationally about the whole thing.
I said that. And it has nothing to do with Islam, or Muslims, or the people around that guy. And everything to do with how absolute power operates with impunity and cruelty. Which is what the royal family and those close to it possess. If this World Cup was in China, which wouldn't surprise me in the slightest by this point, I'd be saying they'd send the secret police after him and put him in a camp. If mocking authoritarian regimes who trample callously on innocent lives is enough to get me banned, then get it over with. Not worth bring out quotes but there were glib remarks about Qatari players being executed for their first half performance, bone saws being used on Ecuadorians, stonnings, beheadings. As I have witnessed many other times re racist/sexist remarks, there have now been about 5x as many posts discussing "the issue" than the number of posts that you could even remotely take issue with. None of these get brought up either, because the longer it snowballs for the more ridiculous a strawman it turns into.Unfortunately, in my view, the whole situation has become extremely divisive, emotional and political. Yes, there is a big difference between Saudi and Qatar. Same as there is difference, for example, between Germany and Poland.I got no doubts most Arab people are warm and friendly. I think most people are generally warm and friendly. There's been a lot of noise about Qatar's human rights record and the LGBT thing around this world cup. Weren't there a lot of workers who died constructing the stadiums for this world cup? If there's a big difference between the state of Qatar and that of Saudi Arabia then i do apologise to anyone sincerely offended..
In either case my jokes were about the state not the people in general. Just ridiculous to have a whole set of attitudes and beliefs ascribed to one admittedly slightly tasteless joke.
people who left, left because they gave up on their team. That’s sad. It’s Qatar’s first world cup game and as a host. People should’ve stayed till the end.You may well be right and thanks for looking it up.

want and try to convince yourself it’s the racist media hating on this particular country, but vast majority of football fans are disgusted by their blood money ruining the game.
With a Red Bull six packI'm working for most games
How do I watch replays?
That one was bullshit and should have stood, because it was actually Fabinho who played the ball to Benzema. Is this similar scenario to CL final this year where Madrid had goal ruled out v pool?
Thank you.Try this one.

I'm not saying I'm right fellas. Just something I thought of when it happened.Yeha I wouldn't expect the jamat to start at 6.15. But personally I don't think this is the reason they left early. It's a shame they didn't stick around for their team.
Even if they went for prayers they could have come back? Or even prayed after the match at home. But agree your explanation is plausible but I think it's unlikely. I also know tickets were really hard to come by for this game and it's a shame these fans didn't stick around as there were plenty of others that would have if they could have got their hands on them.I'm not saying I'm right fellas. Just something I thought of when it happened.
Just to give you an example Isha on one timetable for me locally enters at 5:43 or there abouts. The prayer or as 2mufc0 has mentioned the jamat is at 7:15.
If I go to the mosque I would go at 7ish. However if I was reading at home or was with a group doing jamat ourselves it maybe 6 or maybe 9 or later etc.
These guys may well have stayed if the game was exciting and their team was winning and prayed later. Or maybe they thought nah let's go and pray in the mosque and in jamat. The significance being that jamat in mosque has more reward according t scripture for Muslims.
Again could be completely wrong and maybe they just don't support their nation like we see here. Was just a thought
