Stand corrected, mate. Just googled that United have triggered that option, last season. So he's up to Summer 2024.I thought the same but it seems we have an option for another year.

Double his wages and offer him a new contract. His contract is expired next Summer. He's on 25k/wk (). I guess he plays to and earns that new contract.
After three good games...the United way.Double his wages and offer him a new contract.
Is this Ed woodwards burner account?Double his wages and offer him a new contract.
He'll make a lot more runs into the box with Antony as Antony likes receiving the ball closer to the touchline than drift infield.Good game from him but other than his progressive passing, he doesn't offer a lot offensively.
I feel like he should be the one playing that inverted fullback role, controlling build up etc with the LB bombing forwards. Basically the same role as Walker for City.
Malacia + Dalot is too little threat from fullback.
I don't think writing a player off after four years can be considered easy or quick. After that amount of time I think its acceptable for fans to form an opinion. When you have championship level manager running the team even the best players will look average. Moyes was able to make a title winning team look like a Sunday league team.
Dalot is still young and has bags of potential so even after 4 years there was always a player in there that's capable of more than what he was showing.
Don't be so easy to write players off.
Aye, it tends to be forgotten how little senior football he actually played early in his career. Under 10 appearances for Porto, then his first two seasons here were blighted with injuries, especially the second season. I'm still quite hopeful he'll be good enough for us as a first-choice RB.No doubt he has miles to go. One or two games is not it, he needs a full season of good performance to lay down his claim to this spot and even then we need greater competition.
But it's not the weirdest thing ever that a youngish defender is developing. Until he went to Milan he simply didn't have enough experience in men's football. 4 years on paper but it's only since the second half of last season we've put any faith in him, after an okay if not blistering spell on loan.
He still has a lot to work on in all areas for me. He needs to keep up the aggression, be more effective in the final third and cut out the silly errors where he gets beaten easily. He's quite good between the boxes, which seems weird to say for a defender but that ability is important, but you'd want him to be tidier closer to them.
After three good games...the United way.
I'm huge fan, but a bit bigger pattern of good performances is needed to judge his quality.
Even after doubling his salary he'll still be getting a quarter of what rashford is getting. Is this Ed woodwards burner account?
we’ve done exactly that since fergie left, rewarding short term form with long term big contracts… need to give it time
Think you've just proven my point for me?Even after doubling his salary he'll still be getting a quarter of what rashford is getting.
Good attitude and a lot of talent on top of it. The issue with him has always been his defensive positioning. I guess more confidence and also having 2 super good central defenders help a lot. Casemiro will help even more once he becomes a regular. I hope we stick with him because he is a real talent in the final 3ed.Always thought there was a player in him. He's got the right attitude, all he needed was a bit of coaching to get up and down the flanks at the right times.
Think this is where Casemiro will help him to understand positional awareness and to be able to think about how to better anticipate where the ball will move when out of possession. It seems like he's been around the block for us but in reality he's only 23.My only problem with him is sometimes he commits himself to tackle leaving open space and the player just turns around him leaving him behind. That's where Dalot is forced to commit professional foul and end up cautioned.
I think that's down to inexperience, Malacia also makes similar mistakes. My only problem with him is sometimes he commits himself to tackle leaving open space and the player just turns around him leaving him behind. That's where Dalot is forced to commit professional foul and end up cautioned.

He had a nice loan spell at AC Milan, where he showed his ability. The past few seasons have been part of his development, as he didn't have many senior appearances at Porto before moving to United. He's always had the baseline technical skills, which continues to develop and improve. He's at an age now (turned 23 in March) where his body will begin to get stronger and mature as he enters his mid-20s. It's all about repetition and experience now, to supplement his technical skills, which are good. His final ball can be sloppy and touch a bit loose now and then.Too bad he wasted 3 seasons learning nothing. Hopefully it's not too late.
