His refusal to acknowledge the glaring issues with our game is a real worry.Tweet

What is the logic behind all these argument? Do someone mean ETH will keep his job if we beat Liverpool? Because this is all he needs, just 1 win against Liverpool and no matter how shitty he is, he can keep his job?If the wish is for Ten Hag to be sacked, I would rather win tomorrow and lose all of the last 7 league games.
Well we don’t dominate in or out of possession and we can’t play out from the back. So whatever the feck are identity is it ain’t that.Tweet

To be fair he said that we want to do it not that we do it.Well we don’t dominate in or out of possession and we can’t play out from the back so whatever the feck are identity is it ain’t that.
To make a big generalisation, he's very Dutch. Stubborn as hell, never budging even in the face of alternative evidence. Van Gaal was the same, and various other Dutch managers.Tweet

He can say what he wants to do all he likes but he's clearly incapable of actually coaching this team into 'dominating in possession' (49.9% - 10th in the league), or 'out of possession' (18 shots conceded per game - 19th in the league).Tweet

Problem is he’s been saying that since he walked through the door, we’re nearly two full seasons in with over £400m spent and there’s still no sign of any of that.To be fair he said that we want to do it not that we do it.
Read what he said.Another manager that’s losing the plot after managing us. By dominating he means we concede dozens of chances and let the opposition have more possession.
I did… and he’s got a bit confused on what his version of dominating isRead what he said.
I think you’re confused. He said he wants us to dominate, indicating that he’s aware that we don’t currently.I did… and he’s got a bit confused on what his version of dominating is
He also said ‘we know what our identity is’ do they because we certainly don’t and we watch week in week out.I think you’re confused. He said he wants us to dominate, indicating that he’s aware that we don’t currently.
Which is a different matter. He also said ‘we know what our identity is’ do they because we certainly don’t and we watch week in week out.
Nice try. He said that is our identity, indicating that’s how he thinks we play.I think you’re confused. He said he wants us to dominate, indicating that he’s aware that we don’t currently.
Same sentence though.Which is a different matter.
Don’t think it’s mutually exclusive.Nice try. He said that is our identity, indicating that’s how he thinks we play.
You can’t make two different points in one sentence?Same sentence though.
Ye of course you can but he’s basically saying we know what our identity is and then I believe the next part he’s saying is what he thinks we’re playing already. You can’t make two different points in one sentence?

That’s your interpretation of it. I think he was recognising and semi-acknowledging our current limitations.Ye of course you can but he’s basically saying we know what our identity is and then I believe the next part he’s saying is what he thinks we’re playing already.
Including you, yeah. Even if your read is correct, what does it help that he can see the problem if he’s failed to address it at all for two years? Everyone who watches our games can see the problem.Don’t think it’s mutually exclusive.
He can both be aware of our identity and recognise that we don’t dominate.
People see what they want to I guess. Especially in here…
Well obviously yes but I’m somewhat more neutral in this debate than most at the moment.Including you, yeah. Even if your read is correct, what does it help that he can see the problem if he’s failed to address it at all for two years?
Everyone thinks they’re the most neutral.Well obviously yes but I’m somewhat more neutral in this debate than most at the moment.
I will go along with what INEOS decides as they are better placed to judge than any of us.
I think there are mitigating factors for the performances. Both injuries and the rotten culture at the club that accepts mediocrity that is way above the manager.
Yeah all our managerial appointments have been disastrous but that’s because we chose the wrong candidates. Moyes, LVG, Mou, Ole sacking all of them was the right call.Remembering hearing all this crap just before lots of people wanted all the other post Fergie managers sacked aswell, that ended well didn't it?
I don’t classify myself as in or out. I think it’s just a waste of time to worry about it and put that much thought into it. If he’s not good enough he will be replaced. There is not much I can do. I just support my team. I want Erik to do well because I want the team to do well.Everyone thinks they’re the most neutral.
Currently, Aston Villa are 12 points ahead of us in the table (2 more games played) with a goal differential of +17, while we are at -1. They are also not giving up the most shots in the league in 2024. On the season, they average 55% possession to our 50%. All this with a vastly inferior squad. And the end result?
I don't think thats entirely accurate. We have a better squad probably but vastly? I don't think so. Quite a few of their players would start for us. We have a vastly better squad than Burnley or Sheff Utd.Currently, Aston Villa are 12 points ahead of us in the table (2 more games played) with a goal differential of +17, while we are at -1. Seems like that because of the difference in quality of managers.I don't think thats entirely accurate. We have a better squad probably but vastly? I don't think so. Quite a few of their players would start for us. We have a vastly better squad than Burnley or Sheff Utd.
Villa have also had the majority of that squad available for most of the season, we haven't.
No not really, they just have some pretty good players. Diaby, Luiz, Watkins, Konsa, Torres, McGinn, Bailey, Ramsey you could make strong arguments for. They've built a really nice team with the Grealish cash.Seems like that because of the difference in quality of managers.
Except wanting them to lose is not even a debate. It’s just one insane poster rightfully getting shot downTypical Cafe for there to be 2 different debates happening in the same page that contradict each other. Complaining that there is no one in place to make decisions at board level, suggesting to get a lower level of decision makers on board and for there to also be a discussion of wanting to lose to Liverpool to force EtH out of the club sooner suggesting short term pain for long term gain.
I would like nothing more than a club that I have supported all my life to be run immaculately well on a sporting basis and I am willing to wait for this to develop. But I’d never wish for the team that I support to lose against any team, let alone Liverpool.
How much of this perception is based on each respective squad's performances under the manager this season though?I don't think thats entirely accurate. We have a better squad probably but vastly? I don't think so. Quite a few of their players would start for us. We have a vastly better squad than Burnley or Sheff Utd.

He said he wants to, not that he necessarily is seeing that now. At least the way I interpreted that sentenceCan't believe there's people in the fanbase who continue to fall for this shtick. The guy is a first class waffler.
Everything he’s saying is massively contradicted by how we play and setup. I can’t take anything he says seriously at all.Watching his interview on Sky Sports, I wish I could see the style of play he says is so obvious to see, the patterns of play we have to create chances against all opposition. It just sounds so hollow and desperate.
He said “our style of play is very clear and obvious”. How are you interpreting that?He said he wants to, not that he necessarily is seeing that now. At least the way I interpreted that sentence
