Wasn't watching the game as out at a quiz so did anyone catch the eye for Atalanta tonight. Enjoying the highlights and they mentioned this Scalvini was missing tonight so remarkable result

Lucky is one of the reasons why I can see them dropping few points in their remaining games. TAA,Jota,Salah,Roberton all named on the bench tonight and they all be starters for remaining Premier league matches plus Allison is expected to be back soonTheir last good performance in the league was in the end of Feb. They've been insanely lucky since then and the results are starting to catch up to their overall performances. Play the way they did today they drop points to most teams in the league regardless of opposition.
They have Palace at home then 5 away games in a row. Can see them drop points on that away run, games like the Merseyside Derby with Everton needing a result to stay in the PL will not be easy.Lucky is one of the reasons why I can see them dropping few points in their remaining games. Yeah that's my big worry, scousers will come at them from the start and depends how they handle itNot at all. They won 5-0 away to them a few years back. One early goal and Atalanta will buckle.
Whatever happened to You Never Walk Alone?Scousers leaving the stadium.
Klopp's post-match meltdown could be hilarious
Yeah my thoughts exactlyAs united not getting 5th, I couldn't care less if any English team win a single game in europe.
Palace and Spurs in Anfield more often than not has been easy fixtures for them. They have Palace at home then 5 away games in a row. Can see them drop points on that away run, games like the Merseyside Derby with Everton needing a result to stay in the PL will not be easy.
They have Palace and Spurs as their home games and they aren't 'easy' fixtures by any stretch.
They are walking in bunch.Whatever happened to You Never Walk Alone?
You had to wait three months for Kelleher to finally make an "error". Alisson misplaces/fumbles a ball every two months to concede a goal trying to play out from the back. Kelleher saved their a** many times over the last few weeks. When is Allison back? Kelleher didn't cover himself in glory.
That Jota dive is a penalty in the PLThis.
in the PL there’d have been 15 minutes added time/until Liverpool equalise. No doubt with some dubious ref/VAR calls in their favour.
They did. Leverkusen were magnitudes better than west ham. The quality difference was stark. West ham deployed terrorist football tactics. Only there to destroy rather than create. The highlights gave the impression that WHU took a bit of a battering.
Probably, maybe I read that wrongly thenIs that just the Europa League mate? Because we had 30 shots against them at The Emirates when they beat us 2-0, and 25 shots against them when we won 6-0 at theirs.
Westham parked the bus for 90 min like an average mid-table to bottom-table team with no clear shots on goal.it's going to sound odd looking at the stats but I really didn't think much of Leverkusen.
Looked like we were going to take a 0-0, or at the very worst 0-1, back to Stratford with less than ten minutes to go. The second goal has probably killed the tie.
Think they'd struggle for top 4 in the PL if they were subjected to PL style physicality on a consistent basis.
Gotta say shock result of the season. We’ve had a few. united in the FA cup now this.

On this one, and I've read a few places talking about a weakened side, it was for the most part your starting XI with a few tweeks no? And with players that have already played a lot of minutes and been important during the season? I thought Kelleher, Van Dijk, Konaté, Endo, Mc Allister, Nuñez are all pretty much starters, with Gomez, Tsimikas, Jones, Elliott and Gakpo not exactly being fringe players. Also feel like Klopp horribly underestimated Atalanta, going by our starting XI.
There's only so many players we can allow a rest if you look at our bench, we're not like City in years past who could replace almost their entire XI and still field a competitive team... The three subs at HT pretty much showed what our strongest XI would've been. You just gotta take it on the chin as a mistake on your part if you bench a player like Salah for a European QF at home and then go on to lose 0-3, no excuses to be made and it's on the manager imo. Couldn't watch the game so can't comment on the team performance but you also give out a sign to your team if you bench your best player. On this one, and I've read a few places talking about a weakened side, it was for the most part your starting XI with a few tweeks no? Id say Fabianski had two fantastic saves against Schick.it's going to sound odd looking at the stats but I really didn't think much of Leverkusen.

These mental gymnastics are amazing. Of course we wouldn't make top 4 in the EPL when we were at least two levels above the 7th placed team in the EPL while the first placed EPL team were lucky not to lose to a team that's 16 points behind us in the table. 27% possession, 1 - 33 shots - let that sink in. I guess some people are willing to convince themselves of all kind of things as long as they don't have to acknowledge that England is the only country with a decent football league.Id say Fabianski had two fantastic saves against Schick.
The last sentence is funny to me. How to judge teams based on one game and directly assuming how they would fare over a whole league campaign is completely pointless. Didnt you win at Arsenal this season? If that game was taken out out of the Premier League context and happened in Europe, would you have argued that Arsenal would struggle making top 4 in the league?
Nah other countries have decent football leagues too. Just not Germany. These mental gymnastics are amazing. This was said about Pep as well and Man cityit's going to sound odd looking at the stats but I really didn't think much of Leverkusen.

And Pep's current team, the one that won him the trebble, is MASSIVE, and all are physical specimens. Pep definitely adapted his style to the physicality of the league. This was said about Pep as well and Man city
tiki taka will struggle, small technical players will struggle etc
Those are some deep scars to think they'll go through after that scoreline.Watched it at the last minute as there was fk all on.
Brilliant viewing.
A great season highlight.
They should have lost by another 2 goals to be fair!
Still think they'll go thru though.
They were up against a Championship level side, i read it on the caf!Didn't watch the game last night but Atalanta were ace when they played us a couple of years back. Loved their style.
Pep had won multiple titles in EPL without physical specimens. He even won the league playing a false 9And Pep's current team, the one that won him the trebble, is MASSIVE, and all are physical specimens. Pep definitely adapted his style to the physicality of the league.
That's inaccurate. When he started winning titles, i.e. 17/18, his team had strong physical players like Kompany, Fernandinho, Yaya, De Bruyne, Otamendi and Walker that formed a strong physical base for more diminutive, less physical players to get on with their stuff (like David Silva). But his teams in England have always had a strong physical basis, and it's increased over the years. It's something a lot of the pundits remark on when talking about how his teams have evolved and become stronger and stronger physically.Pep had won multiple titles in EPL without physical specimens. Kompany played 1 season, Yaya barely played. That's inaccurate. That's how West Ham play in certain games. Concede possession, give ground, deliberately let the opponent have 70-75% possession, let them take very many 100/1, 25/1 shots. These mental gymnastics are amazing. Thing with Liverpool is - they definitely are capable of turning a 3 goal deficit but it'll still take a lot of effort to do that. Will Klopp be willing to do that or would he rather try to he save his players' energy for league where they still can win the title, especially after Arsenal lost on Sunday.Liverpool are capable of turning a 3 goal deficit around and won 5-0 on their previous visit to Atalanta so could still get through.
West Ham are 2-0 down but are at home so have a chance but given Leverkusen's form its hard to see anything other than Leverkusen going through.
Villa's game is difficult to call and could go either way, Villa are 2-1 up but the Lille are at home where they have lost only once in all comps this season and won all of their home games in this comp which ended 1-1.
They can´t win the title anymore. City is winning its last six games, especially now with no CL distraction. Even then Arsenal would have to draw a game, too. Arsenal have a slight chance with six wins, and one draw by City to beat them on goal differential.Thing with Liverpool is - they definitely are capable of turning a 3 goal deficit but it'll still take a lot of effort to do that. You can say unlikely but with 'can't win' I disagree. They're 2 points behind City and on same amount of points as Arsenal. It's not like they're 4-5 points behind. Unfortunately I even give them bigger chances than Arsenal, afraid Arsenal could go on to drop points after Villa and Bayern losses. They can´t win the title anymore.
