F1 2022 Season

The difference is that lewis is doing all the experimental car work with Mercedes. He apparently didnt leave Baku circuit till 2am loval time last sunday. Thats with incredible back pain, he stayed on to analyse the data with the engineers. Mercedes are smart in using lewis for all of the experimental stuff on track and leaving george with the stable (for them) car as a reference benchmark. But all people see is the surface that george is scoring more points than lewis.

I for one am eager to see them get the bouncing fixed as i want to see proper shootouts between george and Lewis to see just how good and quick george is.

You make it sound like Russell is newbie who has no idea how F1 car work and that Hamilton is ready to sacrifice half of his season to make better car for himself and Russell, which is extremely stupid from Hamilton's POV even if it's true. No one is making him do that.

Also, it seems like every one of their experiment was terrible considering Hamilton finished every race behind Russell so I am not sure why is he happy to continue doing that?

We're probably going to see a Merc with a superglued piece of carbon fibre to cover up the hole tomorrow.

- Charles will take pole tomorrow, but start at the back of the grid. Unlucky guy.

- Disappointing day for Checo.

- Lewis' car is a mess.

Is that confirmed? Read a few hours ago that they will avoid a penalty by using the first turbo after all.

Mercedes won’t be fixing that then, Allison interview is pretty grim.

Lewis probably should have walked away end of last year in hindsight, Mercedes can’t even work out what’s the issue so they have no hope of rectifying it for next year. Does Hamilton need to be racing around for 5th/6th for another season or two? Dude could go have fun in Indycar or something.

One of the interesting comments from Hamilton beyond not expecting anything until next year was that they'll "raise the car for the race as expected". Sounds like they run practice to try things, and then race with a higher setup to reduce the proposing which might explain the slightly better race results.

He's quite obviously had enough of this car though.

If he won the title last year (as he should have… :smirk: ) he wouldn’t be here putting up with this shite.

If in doubt, smash a hole in the floor.

The simple fact is that Red Bull aero people have designed a car and floor which maximises Bernoulli's Principle more effectively than the other teams.

Heaven knows what Mercedes has been doing. But they certainly appear to be going round in circles.
Lewis Hamilton is telling them that the car is much too stiff and unforgiving and he is struggling to be able to control it.
Driveability cannot be sacrificed in the chase for performance. They have to do both. But the likelihood is that it is what it is. An awful car.

i heard that red bull is cheating and the reason they don’t porpoise is that the car runs in synthetic air and the rest of the teams have to run in normal air. the fia are trying to cover it up though.
