Players on the cheap is the only advantage I see. But I don't think it is worth the risk with games getting postponed and players falling ill to Covid.

Oh please yes! I got Ayling, Dallas, Bamford, Adams and Forster. Suddenly I go from 4 to 9 and can make it 10 with a transfer! Perfect!

Can I make a transfer for my team and then free hit so the player will be there in the next gameweek but not in the free hit team for the current gameweek? If you get my drift.

KDB, Cancelo and I'd punt on Sterling. But if you're not using FH then Stones is a good option.

I won’t likely know until next Tuesday whether I am taking further hits, free hitting or wildcarding for GW18. The schedule and player availability could change dramatically.
If I am free hitting or wildcarding, I almost certainly won’t be bring Arsenal or Palace players in. Their game won’t be until the Thursday, but we should at least feel confident about whether the Tuesday and Wednesday games are going ahead.

Yeah if that happens, having idiotically wildcarded the other day, I think I will just give up on GW18 and try to build the best team possible for the rest of season. If it ends up including 4 players that appear on GW18 then be it. Literally not looking at BGW, DGW, nothing.
Yep - a free hit is last minute work. As you can't gain any value from the changes there was absolutely no need to trigger it early.
Clearly if Villa v Tottenham is off i'd have to get my freehit on. Unless 2-3 other games get called off and you deem it pointless to waste a free hit on 3-4 games instead of just covering say 3-4 key players.
You could at least pack your team with any teams playing week 18 AND playing week 19 to try and counter balance it? To at least get 7-8 out?

Yeah I’d have 3 from City and perhaps 3 from United anyway. I would definitely keep Grealish but would get rid of anyone else from Villa. I only have 1 Spurs player and that’s Kane who I wanted to move for Vardy anyway so not too bothered. Right now I have:

Kane and Watkins would go for Vardy/Aguero and probably Antonio. If I can get some spare cash in I would maybe upgrade Targett to Dias, if not then Stones. I am quietly hoping Aguero returns for the FA Cup game and I can fit him in. He could be a league winning differential for me.

Would be annoying but not the end of the world. I'm making transfers with a wildcard in mind so was planning on Watkins, Son, Martinez. Would have to consider going back to FH or maybe I'd be better off just building around it. Could go Pope > Martinez for instance.

The big problem is if Villa's players were infected but not yet showing symptoms before they played us and we have it now. And then we passed it to City.
The for eg Kyle W had a huge party - and it ends up massively snowballing.
For now it's not affecting enough games to call a halt to the season

Now what should you do without Villa potentially?
your bench for 18 should ideally be all DGW players for 19
thats gives you six from City and United + 4 on the bench doubling in 19
then your free transfer gets you to 11
Burnley also have a fixture and a double in 19, but the fixture is United.. so probably not worth bothering

Without the wildcard it will be hard to set up a team for another bench boost. Although with Covid who knows when we are safe?
Pope over Martinez is worth it short term I think even with hard games, but I don't want such an expensive keeper long term.
