Archer to Alvarez a cruel 0.1m away.

Could do Darwin to him.
Or Trippier to anyone, but maybe Gusto.

Another awkward week.

Screw it, Gordon>Ward-Prowse done! Double West Ham feels dirty.

Turner
Konsa Porro Zinchenko
Bowen Saka Salah JWP Richarlison
Haaland Watkins

Dubravka, Branthwaite (will be coming on), Archer, Lascelles

Played my wildcard...

Turner - Dubravka
TAA - Porro - Estu - Gabriel - Gusto
Bowen - Son - Saka - Palmer - D. Luiz
Solanke - Watkins - Alvarez

Exactly enough ITB to go Alvarez -> Haaland
Have quite a bit of team value built up in Son, figure I might hold thru Asian Cup.

Thoughts?

Bit out of the ordinary, I'm doing Gordon>Gross.

Brighton have nice fixtures for the foreseeable and hardly ever fail to score. He doesn't get rotated like some of their players do, has 0.41 xGI/90. 15 BPS on the season for him is not far off TAA and Trippier levels.

My team is crap lately so differential potential to haul me back up.
My plan is to do Salah to Gross and potentially Saka to Foden or even Maguire to Estu (and play 4 defenders).

Gross is basically in the same category for Brighton in that he produces and he's virtually nailed on to play 95% of GWs, even if his position can change.

I benched Areola last 2 games as West Ham played Man Utd & Arsenal for Leno who was playing Burnley & Bournemouth.

Results
Areola = 18pts
Leno = 1pt

PS: Also benched, Foden and Garnacho

Subject to change following the press conferences but my current WC draft (£6.7m ITB for Haaland)

Martinez, Areola
Saliba, TAA, Porro, Gusto, Doughty
Bowen, Palmer, Son, Richarlison, Saka
Watkins, Solanke, Archer

A part of me wants to bin Son (Asia Cup), Richarlison and Watkins (don't trust them) and Solanke (great form but fixtures may turn) but not sure for who.

Thought about a City player but Pep roulette worries me.

Any tips or thoughts are appreciated!
Double Chelsea?? Yikes!!!

I've also been looking at Gross, I just worry about Brighton's injury list impacting his potential returns...

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
Areola
TAA Guehi Cash
Ward-Prowse Foden Salah Palmer
Alvarez Watkins Jesus

Turner Tsimikas Trippier Gordon

Happy with this weeks team (had to go through some pain last week though and had a very skinny XI).

2 transfers and £1.5m ITB

GW21 : use one tfr and get rid of Tsimikas
GW22 : get rid of Salah and Alvarez/Jesus - bring in Robot and a midfielder

If Gabriel for Tsimi, £1.1m left. Salah and Jesus out to Robot and Bowen/Odegaard.

Thoughts? Alternatives? (players or tfr strategy)?

You’ve got to have some City - ability and fixtures. Bald Roulette is a pain but with Doku, KdB and Ahaland out, team much more settled.

Can't really argue with that, it's a solid plan.

Changed it up a bit, played the WC and went with this....

Raya - Areola
Porro - TAA - Gabriel - Estu - Gusto
Saka - Foden - Bowen - Palmer - D. Luiz
Solanke - Watkins - Alvarez

7.8 ITB (Alvarez to Haaland)

It's been a horrible season so far, so going all in because I've saved the WC and try catch up for the next 4 weeks. It's going to be a disaster when Son and Salah are back...

You saved the WC? Don't we get a second one imminently? I forgot when

Can nicely field

Areola (Dubs)
Trippier TAA Gabriel (Maguire, Lascelles)
Saka Son Salah Luiz Palmer
Darwin Watkins (Archer)

2.2M bank (0.1m short of Archer straight to Alvarez)

  • Leave the team as it is as an extra transfer will help with all the Haaland/Son/Salah fall out
  • Darwin to Alvarez
  • Luiz to Foden

Not a fan of the Luiz pick, would to Garnacho and then upgrade Turner.

Have you gone for as many penalty takers as possible?

Not sure about Luiz.

Careful with having exact cash… just needs one player drop/rise and plan doesn’t work? (Haaland could rise, Alvarez could drop when Haaland comes back?)

I think City is too good a fixture to not have a representative

That's the worry isn't it.

Darwin has just "started" scoring again...as in he's actually got 1 in about 8 games! Alvarez could come in and be a potential captain. Although City aren't really purring, and with KDB and Haaland back soon he'll probably drop out of the conversation soon.

However, he could probably be swept up in 2 weeks in a double with Salah out and Haaland in.

Oh, PS.

Maybe search for Trippier on Twitter…. (not most accurate of sources)

Why is everyone selling Gordon? He still hauls and gets in great positions. In the last game he had a tap in if the ball was squared to him (wrong decision from the attacker)
Combination of things for me.

4 out of 5 blanks. Newcastle in general looking crap and run into the ground. He himself has played back to back to back with no rest and expends a lot of energy with the type of player he is. He's often getting little yellow flags for knocks and I wonder how many of them he can survive. 3 tough fixtures upcoming.

Seeing as I only got 5.9m for selling I do think it was perhaps a little hasty, having to fork out 6.2m if I want him back but it's done now. Not massively confident that Ward-Prowse who I replaced him with will outdo him the next few weeks as he can be inconsistent but I need differentials in the second half of the season. It's 8.2% owned vs. 21.8%. West Ham are in good form although that might well suffer with Kudus going to AFCON and I don't think there has been an update on Paqueta's injury. They may struggle. Good fixtures the next 3 games for him though. It's time to gamble as my team has dropped of massively lately.

Would have taken Gross, but as mentioned upthread I couldn't quite afford him.

Brennan Johnson when Son is away at the Asian Cup and beyond?

He won't have many games to make an impact but if he does well, could cement himself a run in the starting lineup. He's kind of there already, mind. Especially so if Richarlison shits the bed which he is prone to do.

To confirm - this is the last gameweek that Salah/Son/Kudus etc will play right?

Son will miss the game against us?

Definitely the case for Son as Korea have a pre-tournament friendly lined up that he was confirmed to be travelling to. I'd assume it's the same for all the others but never checked.

He's a decent option and on my shortlist but with money no object this next few weeks most are going up to the like of Bowen, Foden or Richarlison instead
