much to consider ...

(my obviously unimpeachable comparison is that, if we're lucky, we are at the bell riots stage of star trek, and the pre-epstein-drive phase of the expanse)

Looks so unbearable.

'Woke watch', 'uncancelled'. It's like the exact type of cringey right-wing nonsense you would come to expect from old and out of touch media heads with zero creativity.

And Farage just endlessly banging on about the people getting into the UK on boats. I feel like its all he's talked about for months and instead of trying to freshen things up now he's on a new platform he's just harping on about the same old shite.

Dan Wootton seems braindead as well. Type of person who can regurgitate information but can't formulate any thoughts of his own.

I am surprised at how badly its doing ratings wise though. I thought / feared that a huge proportion of the UK would lap it up.
And Farage has a 'bit' on his show called Talking Pints where he has a pint with a guest and talks about crap. He had Ann Widdecombe on the other day.

How have I only just noticed Kirsty Gallacher is on there?

Seems she’s had it rough over the last few years - losing her dad, drink driving, Lawrence Fox but even still, GB News?

Wow.

"If my freedom mean you might catch Covid from me then so be it"

Right, I'm getting private care and will send all of the bills to him! What a cnut! This talk about 'unconditional freedom' what an absolute load of bollocks! Freedom has never been unconditional FFS!

I always wonder what it would have been like if we had GB News, Fox News and Social Media during The Black Death.

This is hits every square on the conservative bingo card

How disappointing. I didn’t realise he had gone to Gammon Broadcasting Network. I used to dislike him cause he often came across as smug in the thumbnails for his docs, then I watched one for lack of anything else to watch and thought he was alright. Back to square one I guess

I’ll wait for him to walk around naked, taking things off shelves without paying, banging children and then stabbing everyone in sight if he’s so sure he’s free.

Goes without saying really. That's pretty much what I consider to be left wing. Pronouns, offensive jokes, people's life choices on what to do with their genitals, whatever else, not important. Who cares. Don't give a shit. It's the middle and upper class attempting to take ownership of the left wing, and repurposing it for their own trivial pet projects.
Erm…. No. What you’re seeing is the Right start constant culture wars to pretend all the things you listed are important to ‘The Left’. You have fallen for it.

The right talks RELENTLESSLY about shared bathrooms, straws, religion, jokes, genitals. It’s exhausting. The left is then forced to defend human beings across the board. This misrepresentation of the left being a monolithic entity, often shining a bright light on university students as being a great ‘example’…. If you find yourself believing that you’re just plain stupid.

What’s wrong with the world is that an invented war is bought into by so many.

You say the left is misrepresented as a monolithic entity, whilst also you misrepresent the right as a monolithic entity...It takes two to tango, portraying it as one side being the baddies behind it all and the other side as the goodies reluctantly but nobly dragged in to save humanity is naive at best, and only further polemicizes the ever increasingly polemic culture war.

Both the left and the right are guilty, or the knobheads within the left and right to be more precise. Both feed off each other, which is why I advocate for ignoring the more outlandish elements of the right, rather than feeding it. I suppose I should follow my own advice and ignore the more outlandish elements of the left, too, but that is something I find more difficult to do. Not quite sure why. Perhaps it's because I am in regular contact with people who to various extents are caught up in the culture war from on the side of the left that it irks me, perhaps its a few real life events that has made a lasting impression, perhaps its because I'd rather focus my energies on correcting those who are ultimately closer to my own view point but have gone off track, than try to correct people whose values and beliefs are so opposite to mine that I'd never hope to be able to find middle ground with them, perhaps it's because I'm naturally contrarian and the loony left are prominent and mainstream than the loony right, at least in the circles that I keep, perhaps it's because I fear the loony left taking the focus away from real issues. Or maybe I should just stop reading the Guardian so often and I'll be instantly calmer.

Do you expect anyone to take you seriously when you use the term “loony left”. It’s pure boomer Facebook lexicon. Embarrassing.

I've realised you can take the most neutral, middle of the road, placatory stance on here and numerous sensitive upstarts will roar with outrage regardless.

Your response is a fine example. I used the phrase loony left and loony right in equal measure* and you've had a little strop about the use of the phrase loony left. It's a fine example of the passive aggressive, partisan, snide, sniping, whinging, finger pointing twattery that is a significant contribution to the problem. Embarrassed? You fecking should be.

* Was it equal measure? I'm not sure. I bet some sad sausage will go back and count though. You said loony left 5 times, but you only said loony right 4 times, you fascist!!

Whilst on phrases - I don't think Polemic and polemicizes mean what you think they do.

At opposite poles is not the same as polemic.

Antithetical would be okay, not sure about antitheticalized though.

Uses snide passive aggressive term and then accuses people of being snide and passive aggressive. The hypocrisy is unreal.

And I'm all out of bubblegum.
Should there be porn for children?
I have no idea what the backstory to that is, but I'm willing to bet it's about mild calls for better and/or earlier sex-education, or like someone made a book for kids that explains the body or sexual urges/boundaries or whatever, and his way of framing it is "should there be porn for children"?
