The way I see it is they’re using when and how they want and nothing’s consistent.
Creates a good story though

100% this. They should just put monkeys in the VAR room who click agree with referee on every decision. Such a half hearted and stupid implementation.
It's always seemed to work perfectly fine in other leagues. It's only in English football the application of it seems to be abysmal.I mainly watch la liga games and think VAR works very well, there. The odd slow descison but 99.9% it's great.
I genuinely believe it's not even mainly being used to get correct descisions in the premier league though. That is the only rational explanation.
It's like WWE?
And especially since it obviously applies a different standard for defensive fouls and offensive ones. I mean, letting the Alderweireld and Zaha tackles go unpunished while punishing the tiiiiiiniest of touches on Evans when the referee has let all three instances go just shows a massive difference in standards as far as defending/attacking teams go.Wow just seen the incidents today..utter rubbish once again.
Evans didn’t get fouled at all for Leicester.
That Villa disallowed one was very dubious too and If they hadn’t won I think much more would be made of it
VAR will always be inconsistent as it’ll be different refs reviewing incidents
Its completely fecked up. Use it like in the rest of Europe or dont use it at all. It's always seemed to work perfectly fine in other leagues. It's only in English football the application of it seems to be abysmal.
It would depend on what the ref saw, I would suspect Moss didn’t see any contact on Evens, which there clearly was, so an obvious mistake is corrected as for the pens, the VAR officials need to grow some ballsAnd especially since it obviously applies a different standard for defensive fouls and offensive ones. Yeah, I thought that was a penalty. And more or less exactly what VAR should be overturning. It's a pretty poor decision from Taylor that's being supported really?Zaha shoved two hands into De Bruyne, running across where the ball was going, just took him out. I knew the second Anthony Taylor didn't give it, that VAR wouldn't give it either. They won't go against their mates, VAR is just a fancy offside detector. Nothing more.
They were arrogant twats all along, we just couldn't know for sure. Now we do.Despite often slagging them off, I used to have a begrudging respect for most refs... As the job is hard and the calls they have to make are often difficult.
This VAR has managed to ruin that though... Now they're just arrogant twats.
Not in a million years should the United goal have been called back.should be 0-0
should be 0-0
take the United glasses off pal its a foulNot in a million years should the United goal have been called back.
If anything they should have given a yellow for simulation on top of the goal standing.
