Don't think a striker is happening this summer. We'll have to hope that Rashford has another good spell and Martial remains injury free for at least a few weeks and can grab a handful of goals.

Possibly Mount and a replacement Keeper if we manage to push De Gea out will be our lot I think.
If we don't buy a striker then ETH will be locked in a padded cell by Xmas, I'll be next door to him.

I thought that was the one position we were guaranteed to strengthen, but Mount or an alternative seem to be the priority, and now we likely need a Keeper too, I don't think the money is there.

There hasn't even been a serious striker link since the initial Kane stuff and most of that seemed to be conjecture. I think our priorities have changed (not saying I agree with this change).

The 1951/52 summer was far more boring than this. People here really have short memories and it shows.
We won the league in 51/52. Don't think there's any danger of that happening after this dull summer.

Everyone else is going some good business whilst we sit on our hands and play the waiting game. At this rate, we’ll be the husband who shops around his local petrol station on Christmas Eve for any leftovers.

TBH nobody has shopped on any of our targets yet though, you can start to panic if like 2 of our so-called targets already sign for another club or sign new deals at current clubs. So far it's been a lot of hot air only.

Hope I’m wrong but I can’t see past 3 signings (all straight into the team) myself. GK, CM, and a FW
GK, CM, FW are the primary signings which I am expecting to happen irrespective of outgoings but there would at least couple more which would be necessitated due to Sales . I can definitely See Young CB bought in as well one as I am expecting one Maguire or Lindelof to move as well .

Even that might be a problem mate. We will have to be patient due to the current situation as outlined in the tweets below.

Kim Min Jae was a genuine target, he can't sign for anyone before 1st of July, but looks set to sign for Bayern (per Fabrizio), Rabiot was a genuine target, he's extending at Juventus, Rice was probably among our targets, will sign for Arsenal.

As usual Luckhurst is talking nonsense Glazers don't give a Damn about Share Price currently , Their Stake valuation has nothing to do with Current Share Prices infact Share price has run up due to expectations of Full Sale not the other way round .

That's a bit of a reach for negativity - first it's been mostly known we wanted a CM, Striker and a Goalkeeper - Those you mentioned were never classed seriously as the main targets for this window, more likely somewhat probably in a list of players we were monitoring, but not really bidding for yet. I don't recall a serious outlet saying that we even made a serious contract offer to Kim Min Jae - correct me if I am wrong, but it came out saying that Bayern made a concrete offer and it was rather huge?

I mentioned two CM's? Looks like CM is a priority based on our activity so far, Mount bids, Rabiot offer.

I'm more concerned we haven't sold anyone. I think this dictates our transfer window. Get rid of some deadwood and not only does it add some to the coffers but it will also allow more flexibility under FFP for more signings we need.

This summer is looking worse than any other recent ones, maybe the one we signed Donny was equally worse.

There is barely any news on ManUtd targets from reliable sources, on the other hand teams around us are making good moves in the transfer market.

I'm also surprised there are no strong talks of outgoing transfers. Especially as it looks like you've seemingly decided to cut your losses on several players.

I’m curious if anyone still thinks that we will splash out on 5+ targets?
No. We just have to look at history. Every time we qualify for CL our summer spending is minimal. The club is geared for commercial purposes not football. THis year its worse because the leeches want to sell and wont allow anything to happen.

Why are we being hindered by FFP?

Are all / any the other top six free from such constraints?

Its frustrating at the momemt but have you seen Liverpools squad? They're in a much worse position than us. I'd be in full on panic mode if I was a fan of them.

Absolutely zero depth and a largely ageing past it first team.

Is there any truth to this or just Sky looking for clicks? I have seen it reported numerous times the past two weeks?

Arsenal have nearly signed 3 players. Meanwhile we’re still negotiating for 1. Will this ever improve?!

Yes, they don't even have a defence. But how does that help us?

Been said to death, but no. Not while the Glazers remain

Hoping whoever the next owners are, they'll have a complete revamp and get some football men in who are actually qualified to run a top club

Really is concerning this. Without decent investment we're going to massively struggle next season. Not sure why we're putting so much effort into Mount when that, plus the likely need to buy a Keeper will mean that there will be no new forwards.

Everyone else is strengthening in the top 4 and 1st place is essentially predetermined so we'll really struggle to get one of those other three spots with the same attaching choices we had this past season.
