How long are we willing to take Pogba's insolance?

Pogba fans are the best cherry pickers in football it seems

Did you read what I said? I clearly said I didn't blame Pogba for the loss.

I also said I can accept if it started with an injury but subsequently Pogba got left out for other reasons. I remember his timeline for return also kept changing. I remember he was supposedly back but then he kept getting left out. I also remember a few times Solsjaer spoke about his fitness, there would be a big brouhaha the next day because Pogba posted something on Instagram/twitter, like the basketball thing. Many claimed he undermined Ole with those posts. And it wasn't a one time thing, IIRC. He was also in and out of the team many times after he supposedly recovered and each time it was vague remarks about fitness, etc. Not ankle problems. Sept - Jan is a long time before he finally had ankle surgery.

I can understand if you don't accept it. I'm not gonna force you. But circumstantial as they may be, they make sense if something was happening behind the scenes.

Ole mentioned the ankle after the Rochdale game, he mentioned the ankle in late October and also said that Pogba wouldn't be back before December at best. And sometimes players/club try to avoid surgery because it definitely puts players on the sideline for a relatively long period of times, that's why they try things like rest and casts.

Is he world class though, consistency is a big part of being world class and does he have to be world class to be rated by us, the fans? I'm personally comfortable with the idea that he isn't world class and just a very good player under appropriate circumstances while it seems that many are still stuck with the idea they had before his transfer to United for a world record fee.

Yeah, I agree with you. My post was more tongue in cheek. It was as much as saying, if he is world class, there isn’t much supporting proof. He doesn’t have the consistency and doesn’t seem to really have a position.

I think he and his agent believe him to be world class though, so it can be grating to hear him flirting with Madrid as if he is above the situation when he is equally as culpable. (the quotes are about the only consistent thing he puts up)

The likes of him and Maguire need to show more, and to be more responsible, because the club has invested in them and people aren’t wrong to have certain expectations.

It’s frustrating when we see them both as the two worst players against Spurs, and then one comes out talking about Madrid just a few days later. I think he should have more sense.

I told you, without Pogba in the team.

You said nothing then, when was that best run exactly? Before that we haven't had more than two consecutive wins in the league.

Well I can understand your point of view. I did start out believing it was an injury. But all that in and out towards the end, he was recovered but didn't play, then it was fitness, then it was his ankle again etc etc, coupled with Pogba's tweets/instagram posts and party photos made the whole thing seem farcical to me at the time. Maybe it's my memory playing tricks but sequence of events at the time seemed fishy to me.

I couldn’t give a feck what he done, doesn’t make what Pogba is doing right or ok either.

Ronaldo was actively pushing for a move, is that what Pogba is doing? Or is he just being a naive dick

Besides angling for a move, I cannot think of a valid reason for Pogba to mention Madrid.

It's not the first time he's done it either. Only this time he chose not to use Raiola as his mouthpiece.

I watched the full video of the quote. He absolutely shouldn't say things like "playing to Madrid is dream for me, why not one day?" even if he followed it with some praise of the club. It came so casually as if he wasn't the worst player on the pitch in a 6 - 1 loss at Old Trafford. It really shows he doesn't care as simple as that.

He could have replied by saying Madrid is a great club but he's not thinking about leaving Manchester. A simple, polite answer to give if he is that committed but we all know he's not.
Why can't he play for Madrid one day? Does he have to retire at United for you to be happy?

I don't anticipate any of our foreign born players want to end their careers here

Its a real slap in the face for Ole. Its also very hard to defend him for that. What a clown. If I were Ole I would be dropping him instantly and then let him leave in January for 40 million if Real want him.
Early on Ole said he's a player you build a team around. Ah well

Absolute rubbish. He knows exactly what he's doing every time he does this. He knew what he was doing the first time he did it, and there's absolutely no way he doesn't know now, since he has seen the reaction the last time he did it. He, and his agent, are starting to angle for their way out.

Let him go! But no big team is going to come in for him, he's deluded.
He is answering a hypothetical question. It isn't his fault United fans are so touchy and entitled. As pointed out, dozens of players once said the same about playing for United one day.
He has been here 4 years. I am sure he could of left earlier if he really wanted to. Even if he was to leave end of next season, so what? He would of been here longer than what he spent at Juve. I wonder did he also say he dreamt of Madrid while at Juve and did their fans have an emotional breakdown

Do you genuinely think he has not hinted at anything? and it was just a simple answer for a simple question?
Or are you simply trying so hard to be in denial that he wants to leave?
Hint: look at the past few years, not just this one interview, and specifically not just this one sentence that he said

pogba's b/s has been going on almost since he got here. as others have said" ship him out to the highest bidder and be done with the posturing oaf. if he's world class, I'm Mark Zuckerburg

Why did he not make this so called dream of playing for Madrid a reality when they came in for him while he was at Juve, choosing to go back to United instead?

Perhaps there was no dream. Perhaps he simply wants to leave for a club that is guaranteed silverware at the end of every campaign.

He was practically begging for a move to Madrid less than 12 months ago.

What the point guys. Viva la Pogba fc. Is that better? Bruno is the far better contributor to this team than Pogba, that's a fact pal.
Bruno and Fred have also put more heart and focus in to their performance at this club than Pogba, I expect Donny to do the same. We have had issues from top to bottom, I agree with you, there is no doubt about that but Pogba is a big problem, has been a big problem since his 2nd season.
You choose to make more excuses and throw around the whataboutisms just to defend this guy. The majority of our fan base are sick and tired of this guy, if he wasn't french I expect you would be the same.
Do you deny that Bruno has had more of an impact with us since he has arrived then Paul Pogba?

No one said that. It's just called being respectful to the club you're playing for at the moment, to not go on and talk about your dream of playing for another club, especially when the club is passing through a crap period of form. Very disrespectful for the club and fans you're playing for.

and all he needed to say was: " I'm a Manchester United player and that's what I'm focusing on right now..."

Let’s no kid ourselves, it won’t be long before VDB, Bruno and Martial are saying the same thing. This club has issues, Sanchez wanting to leave after his first training session says it all.
Where did Sanchez wanting to leave come from?

How about Pogba actually do the job he was hired for, which is to be a key catalyst that enables United guaranteed silverware every season?

No, it's not about Pogba. It's about you claiming that our best run happened without Pogba, it didn't and it doesn't mean that Pogba was the reason we had that run, I believe that it was coincidental and had more to do with the starting eleven clicking for some reason but you still tried to bamboozle people and pretend that our best run happened without Pogba.

And don't start the nonsense about Pogba being french, I don't care about his nationality, I don't mind the idea of selling and didn't want us to purchase him in the first place. And what is your nationality? It would be fair to give me the opportunity to use it against you.

Exactly. Pretty sure I read about "Pogba is happy and would like to extend his contract blahblah... with Ole wanting to build a team around him" just 2-3 weeks ago

Get rid of the fecking clown and start VDB instead. We’d be a million times better off.

The best we can hope for in this situation is for Madrid to come and ask Pogba why they’d want to sign him when he hasn’t been performing anywhere near to the levels expected of a Madrid player.

He might up his game for United to get a move and he’ll leave in the summer.Everyone’s a winner.

Unfortunately, that won’t happen and he’ll meander on through the season like they jumped up little brat that he is.

I did say VDB's future is a deeper role  I wouldn't be surprised if the club signed him also as a potential readymade replacement for him.

Fair enough. I disagree with your opinion as I believe our general play was far more cohesive when Pogba was out of the team and I see absolutely no reason for any Manchester United fan to defend him at this point.
I'm Irish by the way and have had the same accusations leveled at me over Roy Keane. But that is Keane and this is Pogba. So go for it buddy.;)

If only Ole could call him a virus, maybe then we could see him give a shit.

There are some things Ole can't change but he has direct control and final say on this scenario. He has to drop Pogba, it's so tiresome now and Ole needs to accept he was wrong about Pogba - you cannot build a team around him.

Are we convinced that Ole is even allowed to drop Pogba? Does Pogba have a clause in his contract which precludes this or is Pogba protected by Woody or the Glazers because he is a jersey seller?

I like Pogba as a player, and I think critics are almost always wrong when criticizing him. He can easily go to a club like RM / Juve and be world class and finish his career there and win a CL or two + a Euro.

As a Utd fan, I don't really like his attitude. Given his current role for us (part of a double pivot behind a #10), I don't think he'll be missed very much if we replaced him with Fred / some other new CM. Maybe if we get a new manager like Ancelotti and the whole team is built around trying to get Pogba to be his best, he will do well, but it's unlikely at this point - we missed the boat on this one.

I can think of so many reasons to sell Pogba, would have sold him a good 2years or so ago now myself.....but this latest article certainly isnt one of them, dont get the huge fuss about it, think fans are buying into the way the press try and paint it. Read what he says and it is so trying to say the right thing all round its almost scripted, almost feel sorry for him the stick he is getting for it.

In a nutshell he has said he is our player and is giving his all for us, this is his club at the moment......but what player wouldnt dream of playing for a club like Madrid....what is controversial or toxic about that?

Worked out well for the last guy who was honest enough to call him out?

Majority of the fan went against Mourinho for doing so.

Ironic to see so many actually get it 2 years later.

What point are you disagreeing with, I didn't defend Pogba I questioned your claim about when our best run happened? I suggested nothing about Pogba, I simply stated the facts that both of our best runs under Ole have happened with Pogba, at no point did I suggest that it was due to Pogba but at the same time you can't go around and ignore facts just because they don't suit your attempt to have a pop at a player. There are enough arguments against Pogba to not make things up, I don't think that he provides what we need in center midfield, in our current setup so if Ole wanted to sell him and bring someone that is a better fit then great. But I also want to make a point that some may realize later, Bruno hasn't been good after the lockdown and he is part of our current problems, like Pogba he is individually above the rest of the team but if we don't fix his role and the way he interacts with the team, he will follow the same path that Mata, Di Maria and Pogba have followed.

True enough and it's the only time we got a tune out of the guy. I was never excited about seeing him back. Huge mistake.

I disagree but feel free to not defend him with multiple posts defending him. Thanks pal, good chat.
