So with all that in mind, I would like to be included in your draft and treated fairly, with no malice or shenanigans
Good luck with that. All of us from the sheep draft probably hate you.

Hello @Edgar Allan Pillow I would be interested in participating in one of your well crafted, and fun sounding drafts. Any previous hard feelings between us was surely a product of @Balu and his schemes. I often would try and talk him out of his ploys against you, but he hit me with a stick and told me to go back to bed so he could post up the threads.

ok.. so after talking with EAP.. I've been thinking of a draft with the following theme.
Here's how it would work: In the first 3 rounds, each person would HAVE to pick a Forward/Winger, midfielder, and a defender.
The catch is the owner requires that the side is built around those players, and the draft voting is done in that manner too - not only who is the best side in the draft, but how well they are using their key players. For example, Xavi/Iniesta and Messi would obviously win (so they would be banned/controlled somehow) or something like that.
3 players may be too much, or this could be wayyyy too complicated, but I was thinking about it..
Additionally, we could do another draft like the Manager draft, but with a player instead. For example, you pick Beckham in Round 1, and pick 11 players he played with in his career.
This is just a straightforward snake draft mate. No surprises. I've added you in.
@rpitroda @Joga Bonito @BorisDeLeFora @Annahnomoss @Kazi
Your first idea would work, and the easiest way to balance it out would be that you cannot pick a player that your first 3 picks ever played with. Makes it challenging, but it means actually creating teams you think would work, not just replicating a team in totallity.

Wanna co-op?I won't be participating but thanks for the offer!

Oh and bring back the 'a vote by a fellow manager counts for 2' rule that you initially introduced please. Btw is anyone against this rule?
I'm not sure yet what's the rules for this draft?
Seems there's not much interest. Maybe wait a bit....
All part of the plan to get back at youAnd here I was getting all excited for it.
So, for example, Paul McGrath would be considered English?Nearly there...just 4 more... Feel free to tag anyone else who might be interested...
The Modern Current Players Draft:
Theme: 16 managers fight for title in a snake draft with injuries thrown in.
Player Pool:
P1 - All players born on or after 01-Jan-1980 are available for picking with the exception of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi (who are blocked for this draft) .
General Draft Rules:
G1 - All matches will be for 24 hrs
G2 - All draft picks will be on 8 hr intervals. More time can be granted on Boss's sole discretion (in case of quick picks).
G3 - No Assistant Managers. It wastes more time. But non-playing members can act as a 'scout' recommending players. Manager have the only say in teams. Scouts cannot vote for manager's games.
G4 - Playing managers vote count twice. Please honour the code and avoid tactical voting.
G5 - Once posted, the pick stands. No changing. Take care before you post.
G6 - Initial drafting will be for 13 players.
Injury Rules:
I1 - Every team will have 1 random player injured announced before the start of drafting for that round. For initial draft, the injured player will be randomized before start of Player 6 pick and will be randomized of already picked 5 players.
I2 - Players remain injured only for that round and available to play the next round.
Team (Playing 11) Rules:
T1 - Teams must have at least 1 youth player (born on or after 01-Jan-1990).
T2 - Maximum of 2 players from same country (by birth).
Reinforcement Rules:
R1 - Team limit is fixed at 13 players.
R2 - Maximum of 2 reinforcements per round.
R3 - Reinforcement will be on pick one, drop one basis. You may choose to 'pass' on reinforcement round. Dropped players will be available for picking by managers down the order.
So, for example, Paul McGrath would be considered English?
Presumably we'll be judging the players at their peak? @Edgar Allan Pillow
@Edgar Allan Pillow I'm not a fan of the injury rule. You pick.. say Robben. Build the side around him, and then your fecked if he is injured while the opposition might get an easily replaced fullback injured. Its randomness for the sake of it.
As always!
I thought it worked really well in Reality Draft. Thought that was one of the highlights of it!
Forces the managers to change tactics rather than just player upgrades. But, if majority of managers are against it, I can remove it.
You could do the randomising for the injured player after 10 picks and allow every manager to protect 1 or 2 of his players from getting injured. That way, the luck factor would be a bit smaller and everyone still has 3 picks to find a replacement for the first round.I thought it worked really well in Reality Draft. I'm not a manager, but I think that it is a great idea. It's always drafting first and games second, games can became predictable and boring - but with these random events you will liven up the draft a bit.I thought it worked really well in Reality Draft.
