Dortmund is surprisingly quiet. That tells the whole story me thinks. If they are so sure Sancho will stay they would have rubbed it on our faces.
I remember them constantly mentioning about everything in the press conferences last year. Not so this year.
Have they even had any press conferences lately? Wasn't the talking made during their preseason tour last summer?

The Deja vu just keeps on happening.

This was exactly what journos where saying about us last year. Had multiple deals in the works but where in no rush etc etc etc.

The we fecked the whole window. Worrying.

Thought it was only me who have this weird feeling.

If it isn't the Euros, then it's the World Cup. If it's not World Cup, then it's the Olympics. If it's not the Olympics, then it's some Nations League shite. There's ALWAYS something hindering our transfer process, and our club is always more than happy to play the waiting game. Stop trying to play 4d chess and try to wrap up our transfers early. Have some urgency FFS.

Hopefully we’ve learned a lesson from last summer. If Dortmund set a price and a structure then meet it, or have a go at tweaking it....but if they aren’t willing to budge and we aren’t willing to match, move on. We can’t have a summer like last summer again. It would be a disaster.

Why is there so many boring negative people on June 17th? not only is it Sancho Day, its so early in the window. You moaners genuinely don't deserve nice things.

Yes. In reality, they have probably said more about Sancho publicy this summer than they had last season at this point.

We should have signed him by now so he could be training with the first team at Carrington.

Yes, up to this point the handling of the matter from Dortmunds side has been nearly identical this summer as to last summer: Two briefs to the press, the first one with their valuation (100 Mil. €), the second one with the date they want this done (once again the start of the pre season camp in Bad Ragaz). The biggest difference so far is that there has been movement in their valuation between the two briefs. Whereas last summer the valuation always stayed at 120 Mil. €, this time it moved from 100 Mil.€ to 95 Mil. €, which already suggests negotiations going on in the background.

People should really need to stop panicking. Their pre season camp is still more than five weeks away and both parties have been far closer in their valuations as they were last summer.

Unless the reported 80 Mil. € is the absolute limit United is willing to go, this deal will happen. They will probably settle at 90 Mil. € + a few million in bonuses.

Aye, Dortmund are selling for sure, but they will rightfully drag it out a while to ensure they get the best deal they can, nothing wrong with that at all.
Whilst the Euros are on there is no real rush, and Dortmund can already plan ahead knowing they’ll be receiving at 80m€ at the very least.
Most likely is that United increase the guaranteed amount to “meet somewhere in the middle”.

Hopefully, I think the player is worth the large outlay as well. And tbh I understand people getting frustrated as it's the second summer of chasing the same player that too one that genuinely excites the fans.

A semi-final in a World Cup is no mean feat.

Starting Trippier at LB may look strange, but it worked.

Southgate is the best England manager we've had since Sven! Some manager just aren't cut out for club football, much like Scolari who was terrible as a club manager but incredible as a international coach.

You think that he's there because the players like him yes? Much like the same excuse the CAF for Ole. The players just don't go out there and play however they like. Does Gareth rely on individual brilliance. No. It's not like he doesn't tell them how to play. Put it this way if he'd won the World Cup he'd be lauded as the greatest England manager ever. Yet because we lost he's somehow tactically inept and should not be listened to because he couldn't make it at Middlesborough. Makes sense.

Two Semi-Finals (WC/Nations League) isn't achieved by just some fluke. He's a great manager.
Great managers win trophies, not lose in semis. Put it this way, if he was managing France, Spain, Italy, Germany etc for half the time he has managed England with the same outcomes he would have been sacked.
Only England reward failure.
Moyes would still have been managing England if he taken them over in 2013.

The point to ponder here is that we were/are the only team trying to buy Sancho and it's taken us this long to get it over the finishing line.

Imagine if there were two/three other clubs vying for him.
It would have been done and dusted. Imagine Chelsea on the monday, how much you want Dortmund.
Tuesday how much you want Jadon.
Wednesday Chelsea are proud to say we have signed Jadon Sancho.
Thursday Ole There was no value in the market. We wasnt serious in buying him. We are signing a 16 year old from Timbukto for £ 20 mill who will be a world beater in 6-7 years time.

Precisely. The power equation has shifted somewhat. If it was next season, they would even be meeker with the power (equation) shifted to the player and the buying club.
Have they even had any press conferences lately? Wasn't the talking made during their preseason tour last summer?
Even if they haven't had any press conferences lately they would have hinted something along the lines of "Sancho is safe in our hands", etc through the media. That's just how the club runs. They always look like they want to get a good PR. I bet when Sancho leaves, they will confirm his replacement first before announcing him leaving. Maybe they had a spoken agreement with Sancho that he can leave this window so it's kinda pointless to deny the rumors about the deal in progress, who knows. Sounds logical to me.

 I can't believe we still get posts like this. Such a big baby fanbase.

The daft idea that every Chelsea deal is done and dusted in seconds even though its obviously not the case. Go obsess over every bit of transfer news of other clubs and you'll see its not as quick and simple as you want to believe it is.

Didn’t they haggle for the majority of the last window before signing a player for a similar price, from the same league, of a similar age?

As soon as England gets knocked out. A week later they'll sign him. Until then, every single bit of news is pointless and just carrot dangling.

Yep, absolutely correct. Just look at the way they wrapped up Havertz last year and how they already have Hakimi and Haaland signed this year....

The transfer window has been open about a week, in the midst of the euros, where Sancho is involved.

Stop being so impatient and petulant.

Maybe Sancho doesnt fancy coming here?

I never read anything on him wanting to come here, let alone eager to come.

Maybe Dortmund was silent because there's no fecking deal.

Maybe we're silent because we're not after him.

Gotta cringe when people made formation with sancho as if he was already ours.

Dont count your chickens.

He wouldn't be, would he. But hopefully it can be wrapped up in time for him to join the team's pre-season at the same time as the other Euro players. Big difference between having some time to integrate compared to just joining team at or after the beginning of the season.

It's the usual things when it comes to transfers.

Cannot do transfers because of Euros - what is the rush?
Euros finish, players take 2 weeks off - Let him finish his holiday
Comes back and its Dortmunds deadline - Why didn't we sign him earlier?

Its the same old routine that happens all the time with our fans.

I mean the fact he started last season poorly following the failed transfer negotiations suggests he was keen on the move.

Many people still have nightmares about how Chelsea snapped Robben, Mikel, Morata, Hazard back then.

Good post. Cheers for the info. Bad Ragaz (I know it’s a place in Switzerland) sounds like a ska band or something :)
