For example, Thiago played absolutely worldclass against Chelsea. Chelsea players didn't get a sniff and Thiago was everywhere on the field, i'd like to point out how good his tacklings were in those games.
That is true, and that's what I ment. He HAS world class games. But apart from that, how were the other games going for him? Look at his statistics. In 24 games he shot 1 goal... no assists, more fouls than tackles, won around 50% of duels (which is just average), lost a lot of balls,...
Hell, he was considered "flop of the season" by many sources. Even Pools own fans didnt want so see him anymore. Until March(?) Liverpool didnt win a single game when he started, his win rate was under 30% at that time (when he came from the bench). I watched a lot of Liverpool games because of him (and Klopp) and in my opinion this was one of the worst seasons in his career. One or two good games - and that's it!
He has a lot of potential, but is extremely inconsistent.
This season, Bayern lost a lot of their dominance on and off the ball. This Bayern team was tailor made for Thiago and his excellent close control. A bit like Madrid and Ronaldo were a match made in heaven. Kimmich doesn't have the positional sense Thiago has and his close control is a hell lot worse. This is one of the main reasons why the back 4 wasn't as protected and leaking goals left right and centre.
As I said before, Thiago wasn't even a starter when Bayern was most dominant. Kimmich und Goretzka were the center part of the team.
The loss of dominance had other reasons (too MANY good players leaving, not just Thiago).
In the last weeks of the season Thiago played very well for Liverpool. He's not the best fit but i back him to become a key cog in Klopp's well oiled machine. This has nothing to do with YT compilations. He's just one of the best players in the world.
Let's see if he can keep his form. Playing a good 2-3 weeks isn't enough. He CAN be one the best players in the world. But right now? Not even close.
(Off Topic by the way... we should leave this thread :P)
