Liverpool start every season +6 points thanks to Everton. Has there ever been a more one-sided derby?

I'm quite tempted to open a "Liverpool start every season +6 points thanks to Manchester United. Has there ever been a more one-sided derby?" thread.

@horsechoker do your thing.

I'd love to see Everton get relegated. Awful watch and fans, no time for them. Liverpool have had the better of them for such a long time.

Well done Everton. Had to wait over a decade for this but that makes the victory even sweeter.

As has been pointed out consistently on this thread Liverpool actually don't win many at Goodison in last decade. It's just at Anfield where they have the aura of dominance but then that's the case for vast majority of teams who go there.

First time Everton have beaten them outside a covid season since about 1917.

Truly amazing.

Fair play but one swallow doesn't make a summer.
They got a 0-0 last season. And in 18/19 they got a 0-0 in the March that pretty much cost Liverpool the league.

Actually one match Liverpool have won at Goodison in last six years is when Benitez was briefly Everton manager.

The +6 thing has been the rule more often than the exception. Now we see what happens to Liverpool when they don't just get two guaranteed wins in a season whereas their competitors have tough games against their own local rivals. It has always been an undeniable advantage for Liverpool that Everton didn't even try against them 75% of the time.

It's nice when there's an exception, but it's uncommon. Unlike United, City and Arsenal where every derby is a season-defining event. One really cannot downplay how much of a leg up it is that one of the top teams has a derby that they almost always win. That luxury is unique to Liverpool. Nobody else has that advantage, until Sunderland get back to the PL.

When you think about it, between that and all their customary luck, it really is remarkable how little Liverpool have won. It's clear that the wind is in their sails at every turn, and the media is unflinchingly on their side, yet they have so very little to show for it. Warms the cockles of one's heart, in a way.

This is just nonsense and I don't think you've actually watched the derby if you think this.

Most red cards in any derby. Regardless of the result, there's been 100% effort from both teams every time.

16 of the 23 red cards have been shown to Everton. The effort point is silly (obviously they are giving 100%) but it's clear that Liverpool have had plenty of opportunity to have it their own way and even take their foot off the gas.

At Anfield I think you could arguably say it is a 3 points to Liverpool game but at Goodison we always give them a really hard battle that they absolutely hate.

Last season pretty much everyone took points off Pool.

Couple of decent results in the last 15 years but let's not get carried away. Sooner rather than later they'll be back to their old habits of picking up stupid red cards and Pickford flapping in added time winners.

We have won more games against them in the league this decade than you have. :wenger:

Their relegation plot armor is something else
Tbf the only reason we are in this situation this season is the deductions. Without it we would have been safe after the Forest game.

Death, taxes and Everton surviving relegation battles because three garbage teams are also in the league.
Goodison in the run in keeps them up most seasons. Was at its raucous best last night for one of its last great nights.

They'll miss that when they move to the new ground especially if the 11 is of a very similar level to now.

Crazy stat that only three away teams in the prem have scored at the Gwladys street end all season. One of those was the Garnacho wonder goal.
