He's shit, move on.
The Ireland transfer all depends on whether or not his grandma pulls through her illness

Osgood-Schlatter disease is a "teenager disease", is it not?Osgood?Schlatter disease - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Also a famous sufferer of this disease....
Is he susceptible to injury? NO but is his career on the balance due to a dodgy knee? YES ....cool lets sign him to go with Hargreaves and owen
well well well...the signing would make a lot of sense for all involved parties so i'll give you a benefit of doubtMy family know the Ireland family personally as his younger brother and mum live round the corner from my Auntie and Uncle, and Cousins. His younger brother was best mates with my cousin for quite a while.
Anyway, apparently he's told his family he has been talking with Manchester United, not as a wind up either. My Auntie told me last night his mum was told by Steven personally that he has been in talks with Manchester United. Make of it what you will.
It wouldn't really suprise me if United went for Ireland as he didn't do a bad job for city a couple of seasons ago before he got pushed out of the side by new signings. He wouldn't be to expensive, could do a job, and fits the hole we are looking for, whilst being cheap.
Would you be dissapointed with this signing? I think he would do well with us tbf...
In before, "your mums uncles dads dogs cousins came with news"
disagree strongly.Anderson is a superior player to him, there's no doubt about that for me - Ireland is fine but he'll never reach the level where you could label him as one of the world's best, while I could see Anderson getting there if he bothers to learn some new things.
We don't really need to sign City rejects, we're not that desperate.
He isn't really a Chelsea reject because he was offered a contract there that he declined, besides Chelsea are a club that at our level currently - City aren't. You don't improve by signing players who don't make it at inferior clubs. What about Chelsea rejects? J. Cole.
Fergie probably just wants to get the same tattoo as Ireland on his back so he will probably just sign him so that he can get a closer look at the tattoo so that he can get a tattoo artist to do an exact copy on his own back.
fixed...I just can't believe we'd be interested in this chinless twat with wings.
Why so late if it's a done deal? He's convinved this'll happen a couple of weeks before the transfer deadline...
not sure how happy I am, just passing on the rumour
Yeah my girlfriend is personal assistant to Ireland's dog and he saidI know Ireland talk seems to have quitened down, but I was chating to a City fan on Sunday who heard a deal had been done. He's convinved this'll happen a couple of weeks before the transfer deadline...
not sure how happy I am, just passing on the rumour
Luckily for City the fans don't have a say. I don't think the powers that be would give a shit.Do you think city will allow him to join us?
I doubt they will really have the ability to be to picky if they need to go rid of as many players as they are mentioning.Do you think city will allow him to join us?
He was very good for them in the hole. Which Elano was before him and look whats happened to him. In other positions he hasnt done well enough and, if he isnt good enough in the hole for City to want to keep him there, why would we?Some pretty unfair comments on this thread.
Ireland had a great season in 08/09 and under Hughes was generally top notch.
Things went badly wrong for him last year but is it really the lads fault - City are a crazy club.
The fact that he has no interest in international football would make him very attractive to SAF.
I think he could be an improvement on Gibson or Anderson. I'd welcome him to OT.
Good players will always have many options. Even if we offered the most, whats a few million to City? Nothing. They'd rather send him to Newcastle for £2 million than to us for £18 million.I doubt they will really have the ability to be to picky if they need to go rid of as many players as they are mentioning.
I don't think SAF would care if he has no interest in playing international football. On the contrary - i'd say he'd prefer all his players to have Ireland's attitude to international football. He was very good for them in the hole. Which Elano was before him and look whats happened to him. In other positions he hasnt done well enough and, if he isnt good enough in the hole for City to want to keep him there, why would we?
The fact he has no interest in international football at his still young age screams problems with his menality and professionalism. And shows why despite having talent, he's unable to keep his place in the team at City let alone United.
I can't see any reason not to beleive something that Ireland said.
Real Madrid were 2nd place in their league. What their expectations are going to be are very different to Man City's last season.Ireland is a head the ball and an objectionable little twat.
BUT he is very good at football (one of the best in the league two years ago IMO) and you can't question his dedication at club level (has become a real fitness fanatic) The fact he's surplus to requirements at City after a massive spending spree means feck all really. I mean, look what happened to the Dutch players squeezed out of Real Madrid?
I was thinking about him yesterday actually, when Ozil was being discussed. If I had to name the one player in the PL who Ozil most reminds me of in the way he plays the game, it would be Stephen Ireland.
I think you might be overestimating how good Ireland is, based on one season rather than all seasons. As I said what he did was done the previous season by Elano. Why arent we all over Elano too?I don't think SAF would care if he has no interest in playing international football. On the contrary - i'd say he'd prefer all his players to have Ireland's attitude to international football.
I think you are underestimating how good player Ireland is - based on last season.
Giggs is an out and out winger, used centrally to preserve his legs. One of his greatest strengths is beating a man by dribbling past them. Don't see the similarity myself.Real Madrid were 2nd place in their league. What their expectations are going to be are very different to Man City's last season.
If I had to name one player from the premier league that Ozil reminds me of its Ryan Giggs.
Ozil was known as a good dribbler when he first came to Bremen. I've seen enough of it myself to be convinced by that part of his game even if he wasnt taking too many people on at the world cup. Ozil was also an out and out winger (and played both sides) before he was switched into the middle to replace Diego last season.Giggs is an out and out winger, used centrally to preserve his legs. One of his greatest strengths is beating a man by dribbling past them. Don't see the similarity myself.
The difference in relative league positions between City and Madrid means feck all really. They both went on mental spending sprees, resulting in over-inflated squads with good young players squeezed out to accomodate shiny new signings by a new manager who failed to appreciate the talent already at the club.
Elano had a couple of spectacular goals and a few impressive performances and that was it, really. Ireland was one of the players of the season in the Premier League, and won Manchester City's POTY. Elano wasn't close to either.I think you might be overestimating how good Ireland is, based on one season rather than all seasons. As I said what he did was done the previous season by Elano. Why arent we all over Elano too?
