It is by far the worst we've looked in pre-season.

Few factors: Fielding two slow players centrally, not playing with any proper width. Not having enough dynamism in midfield. Not working hard enough up front (Martial).

I know he's not had a minute of Premier League football, but Daniel James is exemplary in terms of relentlessness. And he's always an option as an outlet up front, making runs. Having him on the pitch I'm sure has forced the others to pull their finger out.

This is the team that Solskjaer said would probably start the first game though. Worrying as that is a woeful side.

Mata was absolutely shocking. Lindelof has wound the clock back to his first season (not a good thing). Matic did a few good things early, but has been poor since then. McTominay has been extremely quiet other than a few good raking balls out wide.

Playing Mata, Matic and (to a lesser extent) Martial all together makes it pretty much impossible to press properly.

Our midfield is woeful. Andreas isn't Utd quality and never has been. Matic is too slow in possession. McT has been quiet but reasonably good in pre-season. God forbid if Pogba actually leaves, we will be closer to relegation zone than champions league. The fact we aren't anywhere near signing a Herrera replacement is nothing short of negligence by the club.

Then Ole doesn’t know what he is doing. Matic, Mata, Pereira, and Rojo won’t be anywhere near our starting eleven.

Pogba, Gomes, Fred, Greenwood, Maguire, and if we get Dybala or Bruno will significantly improve this team more than tenfold.Maybe even James, lingard and Chong will even see a big improvement as well due to their pace and work ethic.

First 20 minutes we looked good, pressing people in to mistakes but created very little but no idea what has happened. No idea why DeGea chose to give that ball to Matic facing his own goal flanked by 2 AC Milan players.

Then Mata does the same thing selling Matic short who up until the screw up was having an alright game. Kinda worried about the very little we seem to have created other than punts and run. Last 20 resembled more of the Jose ball than what has been going on in pre season.

Lindelof not looked very assured either.
