I know he scored tonight, but I reiterate, Lukaku is NOT a striker we should have bought. Despite scoring, there are so many chances in attack he has squandered away tonight due to his poor touch and his poor control. It's shocking we bought him. Lacazette or Morata should've been chosen over him.
Don’t bring Lacazette into this, he isn’t that great either.

    Aubameyang on the other hand....

Not a great half so far. Although, De Gea, Mata, Martial, Lukaku are decent.

Been a struggle so far this. Great for Lukaku to score but doesn't seem to have given him any confidence. Slumped shoulder goal celebration. Where's the fire in this guys belly?
He knows more than anyone he hasn't been scoring enough. One goal doesn't change that. It was a perfectly fine response. Business as usual, carry on.

We're fortunate to have not conceded a goal, but equally unfortunate to have not scored another ourselves. Room for improvement in the second half as we've just done the bare minimum to be ahead.

    Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
Lindelof should be starting every game, and a back 3 should be being played - it glues our team together, whether it's 532 when defending, or 343 or 352 when attacking, we simply play better ootball with that set-up.

Not a great performance so far - fortunate to be leading 1-0. We've been generally sloppy in position, giving the ball away too easily at times. I don't get this whole punting the ball forward and hoping for the best strategy against a team like Bournemouth.

Shaw's been playing well so far, which is a positive but our entire midfield has been non-existent and ineffective. Surely we can't miss Pogba THIS much?

What is with the obsession with Dortmund players?
They tend to fail when they move away from Dortmund.

Thiery Henry thinks Lacazette is class. Has said so several times. So has Ian Wright. Have any of the United legends said Lukaku is class?

Lacazette is definitely better. For sure.

Shaw has been good, as has Jones and Mata. But I'm not sure what's happening here. Another thing I've noticed is how terrible our ball control is compared even to Bournemouth. Only really Mata and Martial have Premier League standard ball control. It's leading to us giving silly balls away.

He's squandered one or 2. Not many, many, many.

Bit of a meh half. Lucky to be going in ahead, if I'm honest. De Gea safe hands as always.

We don't have any threat down the right. We keep going down the left, it's very predictable. I'd say bring Rashford on the right for Linngard and let Mata play his natural game as a central AM. Need to rest Lukaku and bring on Ibra at some point too.

THis. I thought I was the only one.
It's occurred the past few games. I wonder if it is an Adidas directive or not. Haven't had the time nor the curiosity to see if other Adidas-sponsored EPL teams are doing likewise.

It's an old school look that should have never gone by the wayside.

It would appear that we really are a 1 man team.
The problem is playing with 2 midfielders, I think.

Mata and Jones are our best player so far.

Scott is very good at keeping possession of the problem, the problem he doesn't look that creative. Think he can be a great number 6 and a successor for Matic.

Shaw good game, nothing special but Ok. Needs to sort his defensive problems though.

Any chance our front 6 could turn up for the second half? Jones and Smalling having a much harder night than they should need to against Bournemouth.

Then go support Arsenal if you care about their legends so much.

We´re efficient with our chances as usual this season, but also just as bad at actually getting some good attacks together as a team as usual.

Sure, but we're not playing Madrid here. With the front 4 so far advanced and the defence sitting so deep, we have 2 players trying to cover half the pitch - just squeezing the game would make so much difference!!

    Ach I dunno./
It usually would, but we have many games to play between now and January, mourinho is probably averse to unnecessary risk right now.

Think it has to be Rashford for Lingard in the second half. Martial to play centrally and open up the space for Shaw.

We've been playing terribly so far but at least we have taken our only actual chance.

We are looking awful on the ball though. Painful sometimes.

We played some really terrible stuff rain or no rain.

How can we play so completely different without Pogba. Do the players unanimously agree that they refuse to string 2 passes together or dribble in a straight line without falling over if pogba isn't there.

The only decent part is that we're a goal up , otherwise a real dire half of football from us.

The problem is we're light in midfield and Matić and McTominay are having trouble passing it to the front 4. If the ball comes we're overcrowded near their box, lines are really far apart.
