    4-4-fecking-2

    De Gea
    Rafael Jones Evans Rojo
    Di Maria Herrera Blind Januzaj
    Rooney Falcao
Allows us to chop and change formations at will. Eg, 3-5-2:

    De Gea
    Jones Evans Rojo
    Rafael Herrera Di Maria Blind
    Januzaj
    Rooney Falcao
    Or 4-3-3:

    De Gea
    Rafael Jones Evans Rojo
    Blind
    Herrera Di Maria
    Januzaj Falcao Rooney
Basically, it's QPR at home so lets just play around a bit and see what sticks.
Wouldn't play him next Saturday. Off the bench hopefully. Wont be playing in the 352 anyway

thats a narrow 433 while van gaal always loved the 433, because it allows you to utilize two wide players. This formation has little to do with LvG´s philosophy even so its 433. I think that he´ll continue to use three in the back+wingbacks, if he wants to play with two central forwards.
Maybe fullbacks and Di Maria can provide the width...

change sytem, play attractive, progresssive football, win the game.

    Blind - Herrera
    Januzaj ----- Di Maria
    Rooney - Falcao

A 4-4-2 employing 2 narrower wingers is a good shout once Hererra and Blind are comfortable playing together. Until then, I'd like to see Di Maria as a CM.

I taught after some of our pre-season performance that Van Gaal 1-3-5-2 system will work out, but after seeing the way Van Gaal has utilized it in the bpl, I do not see the need for us to continue shoehorning players who cant play together. Moreover, there is no need to play a system that favors a position that we are not stocked piled with quality in. Changing to a 1-4-2-2-2 will thwart the isolation we have outwide, help the likes of Di Maria become more influential in the attack and we will look like a much more balanced team.

That is a progessive way of thinking. Looking at how Van Gaal has managed, I would not be suprised that against Qpr, we will see something like this

    De gea
    Jones - Blind - Rojo
    Valencia - Fletcher(vc) - Di Maria - Young
    Rooney(c)
    van Persie(friend) - Falcao

Nevertheless, out of our star players, I think we might finally see Van Gaal dropping some out of our team. My guess will be mata and perhaps Falcao(only because he does not appear 100% fit).

I will be extremely disappointed if that is the squad. Almost a turn off the tv type... No blind, herrera, Rafa, Mata

    I was thinking

    De gea
    Rafael - Jones - Rojo - Shaw
    Blind - Hererra
    Di Maria------Rooney(c)
    van Persie - Falcao
This help fullbacks as they won't be isolated; both the wingers are creative, hardworking, and intelligence players and love dropping deep; Blind can drop deep and the CBs can move wide to compensate for FBs who are further up and all that good, triangle creating stuff.

Only problem is VP and Falcao occupying same spaces.

Can you really see Falcao and RVP playing at the same time? I don't think so.
    We will go 3-5-2

    De gea
    Smalling Jones Rojo
    Rafael Blind Shaw
    Herrera DiMaria
    Rooney/Mata
    Falcao/RVP

I really hope we batter QPR.

Ridiculous club and I cannot stand 'arry nor anyone directly related to him.

I'm not sure if I could ever stop punching him or Jamie.

I am looking forward to this game.. Like that we started with a 352 this season and the results might not have been glamorous but it excites me... The fact that people are deliberately ignoring the gradual progression in all 3 games tends to piss me off...like I said a few weeks ago, for a football manager trying to fast track the education of his players it's the best way to go.. LVG won't scrap it coz it gonna ruin everything he has been trying to do with our player, to most it's about accommodating our celebrities but I disagree..it's strictly to get our lads playing as a unit and understanding varied footballing tactics...

I would love if we dropped the safety net this game and actually went for the win instead of trying to avoid the loss. Can't see QPR handling Falcao, Mata, van Persie, Di Maria and Januzaj in the same team.

Imagine Falcao and RVP in the box for crosses.

    -------Falcao-------v. Persie
    ---------------Mata---------------
    Di Maria--Blind-Herrera--Januzaj
    ----Rojo----Smalling---Jones----

That's decent, as far as fan-preferred lineups go, but something about Januzaj and Di Maria playing as wing-backs irritates me. When you have two players who are that talented at attacking, why curtail their ability to set up goals by demanding that they track back relentlessly to provide cover for our defensive frailties.

Surely we have to ditch this whole 3-4-1-2 formation, now that we have players capable of playing 4-3-3. Even if Rafael and Shaw aren't back by Saturday, we could easily play Blind or Rojo as LB and Valencia as RB.

    We should play 4-4-2

    De Gea
    Rafa CB CB Shaw
    Someone Herrera Blind Di Maria
    Rooney Falcao

I want this team home and away no matter who we are playing. Teams should fear us not the other way around

    I think it will be:

    ------------De Gea
    ------Evans-Jones-Rojo
    Valencia---------------Young
    ------Herrera-Di Maria----
    ------------Mata------------
    -------RVP-----Rooney

Then Blind and Falcao on in the second half.

I'd love 4-3-3, with Januzaj & Di maria on the wings, and RVP & Rooney dropped, but it's not gonna happen.

Seeing Di Maria on the wing makes me think he's wasted in the middle... The only reason he should play central midfield against QPR is if Herrera doesn't make it. I'm not sure I'd want to see Fletcher & Blind together, especially against a side likely to battle relegation for a decent part of the season while we're at home.

If Herrera is still injured, then 3412 with Di Maria as a CM, then Mata + Rooney and Falcao/van Persie. If Herrera is fit, then 4231 with maybe Januzaj and Di Maria on the wings, Rooney behind Falcao/van Persie and Mata on the bench.

I hope to God we stop playing this 5-3-2 system with turn back Tony and Young on either side.

I haven't really got a clue what formation we're going to play so I've plumped for the 3412 we've been using. I don't know how fit Rafael, Shaw and Herrera are so I've left them out.

I see a lot of armchair pundits that criticised van gaal 3-5-2 and clamoured for 4 at the back have Rafael, shaw or rojo for the fullbacks positions. But they forget the last 3 epl matches these players were unavailable? Without these players I fail to see how we can play four at the back:confused:

If they are still playing 3 at the back, counter it with a 442/433 please! We'd murder them!
Probably not a coincidence but they switched to 4 at the back in their last game and got a win, they have a decent midfield aswell now tbf.

Please no Fletcher. Herrera should definitely be back, Shaw was to be 4 weeks out and that was before season started so he should be fit.

Valencia will probably play over Rafael who I don't think will be back.

I'd like to see (if we HAVE to play 352)

Why are quite a few of you omitting Rooney from your lineups?

Have I missed something? Is he injured or suspended?

Probably they watched Rooney's play in the match against Burnley and the national team's games. Rubbish touches, losing the balls a lot, not being able to link up well enough with Di Maria. These things might have been what they saw there, and the source of the judgement.

    They don't rate/like him.
Despite LVG saying his captain will always play.

Mata & Januzaj are at most risk of getting dropped.

If Shaw is not available for this one, it wouldnt be a bad idea to play Blind at left wingback instead of fecking Young. He might be here primarily to play defensive mid but better him there than Young.
