Last chance saloon next season. I actually think he can come good again as he clearly has a raw talent but I didn’t appreciate being laughed at for pointing out that he’s been spoiled and lazy on the pitch for years now and that walking around the goals would quickly dry up for him and he was definitely holding the team unit back with the way he was playing the game. Seeing as I have to regularly endure that predictably dreadful shit from him I should be free to comment on it without being told I have an agenda. It’s there for all reasonable fans to see.

He was one of the worst forwards in the league last season statistically and otherwise and he was rapidly dropping to that kind of level the second half of the season before and just a shade better than that in the first half of that season too. I just lost my patience with it and called it out before many others finally came around to the reality of the situation. Saying all that : a new season and a new manager is a fresh start for a few of these guys. Hopefully Rashford is one who takes that chance.

It's the same day. The day doesn't change every time there's a new page. That's not how that works.

Good, i didn't say this is new day and this is new reason. Nice try though.

I don't know, you might have personal problems with Rashford, you never know. Like I said these footballers do all kind of shit. It's just weird how consistent one is making up reasons to have a go at player.

I can't understand the people who constantly search for reasons to be negative and have a go at the players. Yes they were shit. Yes Rashford was shit and his effort was a disgrace.

But we are heading into a new season. Why being negative on anything rather then hoping that they can turn things around and supporting them? The signs are there that he understood his situation and has to fight back.

Nearly as consistent as the PR machine lining up another journalist to blame anyone but Rashford himself for his awful performances, woeful work ethic and abysmal attitude. It’s beyond tiring.

He has a point though. You spent most of last season defending Rashford at every turn when he came backfrom injury, using statistics as your defence. When it became impossible to defend him in the last couple of weeks/month you disappeared completely only to come back and start your defence all over again against who dares criticize Rashford. Not all supporters have the memory of a goldfish in remembering just how disgraceful Rashford was last season although for some unknown reason many people are back on his side and like it or not his PR team are a part of that.

My own take is I couldn't give 2 fecks if I never see Rashford in a United shirt ever again and if you think that deserves a  go right ahead.

Speaking of memories like a goldfish, it's funny to see the pretence that for the longest time this past season this place wasn't absolutely toxic for anyone who dared comment that they noticed he was shit.

Multiple times it resorted to demands of posters to explain why they were mentioning Rashford's performance in the Rashford performance thread. As if that offended them. This thread was toxic for anyone who wanted to fairly assess he wasn't very good for the majority of last season.
Did you google it? Or used it because you thought it was cool.

It? Staggering Irony isn't the name of a horse.

If you don't know what staggering irony means how do you begin to find it via google search to use it in a conversation?

Nearly as moronic as other hot takes, it should be tiring tbh, following footballers Instagram accounts and then moaning about their content.

Again one more shit take, more than welcome to quote the post where i said anything about his performance, but nice try.

That's true. But people never got attacked for pointing out they were shit. Most players who were shit didn't spend most of the season leaking that the reason why they were shit was someone else's fault. Saying, fairly, that Maguire was shit didn't get you nearly strung-up. The Paul Pogba performance thread wasn't full of people demanding an explanation as to why people kept talking about Paul Pogba's performances.

It isn't so much about Rashford as a backlash against the attempts to regulate opinions that I think some object to.

Yes, it.

Regarding rest all, irrelevant like all your posts.

It's easy to see people having a go at him for his performance and pr thing, when he announced few even took that as en excuse to have a go at him and then the same posters moan about toxicity.

I have no doubt few of these have accounts on social media just to abuse players on their pages.

Next season will be a big one for him. In Ole his last full season he was good before he got injured. Carried the attack at times since Martial had stopped being good at that point. Rashford didnt finish the season well and was horrible last season. I think Ole allowed Rashford to be lazy so he could hit the opponent on the counter.. and because Ole was a terrible manager. During Rangnick his reign Rashford was just lazy.

Hopefully ten Hag can get Rasford to atleast run back. Personally im all for giving him the chance next season but if he has another poor season he should be moved on. You cant have over two poor seasons at Manchester United and not expect to be replaced i think. Atleast it should be like that...

Is he beyond redemption now ? I was as frustrated and scathing of him as anyone last season with his effort. But we have to give him the clean slate. He isn’t going anywhere for the moment. If he is genuinely putting the required hardwork to prepare for the next season then that’s all we should want. Last season is last season. This is a new beginning in many ways. He is much more settled in his personal life, A World Cup year, a new manager, his manutd career on the line, there is no reason to not to believe he is not taking it very seriously. If you still want to criticise and mock him then just wait for few months till the season starts. It seems like for some posters genuinely can’t stand him even if he making all the efforts to put everything right. This is so disappointing to see. I still believe in him and feel he is gonna comeback with a bang.

MR Marcus Rashford nice.
I don't give a shit that he is going full force towards an internet bully they fully deserve to get what's coming to them. I have defended Rashford on so many occasions that I have lost count but he just lost me last year, no fight, no bother, nothing that suggested he gave a shit. I don't give a shit that his PR machine is in full motion as he needs to prove to me he actually wants to be here. If I had anything to with transfers he would have been sold by now after the last two seasons. Can't understand how badly he has regressed as a footballer.

I've been very critical of him over the past 1 1/2 seasons, but I'm really rooting for him to hit the numbers we all know, he can hit.

Time to kick. the. feck. on.
Marcus

Undoubtedly talented but you can’t shake the feeling that he’s caught Pogba’s disease and can only see himself now as some global sporting icon. Maybe ETH can make it work, I don’t know, it will be interesting. Some of you (one in particular) getting so upset at fans who felt he fell far short of standards last season must realise that’s par for the course no? Or are we back to ‘the most toxic fanbase ever assembled on gods green earrh/won’t someone think of the children? Etc

I feel like people are more happy to mug him off as a PR merchant than actually hope he turns form around

Without doubt, even if he turns it around and plays well, the same few will come up with more excuses to have a go at him.

Is he that talented though? Outside of speed what is he good at?

I just think he’s dreadful when it’s public, I believe Rangnick when he said he’s great in training, there have been certain performances where he has looked unplayable. My pet theory is that he’s become a bit aware of himself as a big name player/celebrity/icon and feels like needs to live up to that on matchdays and then visibly tanks when things go wrong. I’ll take some persuading at this point that this is not the case.

No, he was never that talented. He has pace. That’s it. One of the most overrated players I can recall.

I don’t blame him. I blame us. He thinks he’s a much bigger deal than he is because we have treated him as such. And now his ego is in tatters because he hasn’t been able to back up all the hype.

Let's hope his first preseason in yonks actually helps him to get back to standards he set before he started going backwards.

-Tunder of a shot.
-Good vision (Yes, he has shown that several times).
-Not devoid of taking responsibilty
-Skillful
-touch inconsistent but he has shown several brilliant first touches that led to goals
-Finishing incosistent but can be good
-good timing of his runs

I don't want to start a huge discussion on my points. But there you have my opinion on his strenghts outside of speed.
You could add "inconsistent" on nearly every point though. And that's were the problem lies. He is capable of absolutely worldclass moments. But next moment he can look like a pub player. The question will be if a man like ETH can coach him to a more consistent game.

The England manager had to answer him for not selecting him. Mental

There's a new toy syndrome in our fanbase. There's a constant need for new players - where they'll actively hope that the ones already at the club will fail, so that the club can buy them newer ones.

You see it with Sancho who's not even been here for a year.

personally after watching him shrug his shoulders and show literally zero effort numerous times I’d be happy if he never played for us again,

Any player that walks around like he did should be out the door,

All players attract a weird following of “never rated him anyway”s whose main objective is to tell the world as often as possible that they are cleverer and more prescient than everyone else. This only works for them if the player’s bad form continues.

It’s much more prevalent with players whose United careers started really promisingly. We’ve seen it increasingly with Bruno as well.

Granted, Rashford’s cause isn’t helped by the constant arse-licking he receives from the press. PR? Journalists in his pay? Or maybe his “saintly” status is being used by the press to generate ABU clicks, through no fault of his at all.

I’m just hoping that he’s still got it in him to learn from a far more directive coach than he’s had since LvG.

When did it become a thing to harp on about pre season training? Especially after such a calamitous season.

It's not just the club that needs to read the room it seems.
