That was a clanger.
This is the thing though, awful in the middle, can't play on the right apparently. Inconsistent on the left too as it goes. He's never been great in the middle has he?
He's not looked good from the left either of late, but it's certainly the position most likely to get him performing well.
I don't think he's cut out for this role just off Ronaldo. Cavani would be best, or Greenwood.
I feel like RR has just defaulted to playing him because of whatever appraisal the coaches have given on players, and he's a big player. But I'm pretty sure he'll get sick of this.
Greenwood played in midweek, full 90 I think. Rangnick also has no frame of reference for how unsuitable Rashford may or may not be in a possession system. It will be trial and error before he finds his first choice attackers. If he gives Rashford the same role next game we might have a problem. Probably shouldnt even start. Also why was he starting instead of Greenwood. I'll definitely defer to RR's judgement as he obviously knows what he's doing but I find that one hard to understand.
Would have to assume Greenwood isnt fit enough to start two games with so little turn around quite yet. Hopefully he gets up to speed soon and its Rashford who becomes the sub. Also why was he starting instead of Greenwood. I'll definitely defer to RR's judgement as he obviously knows what he's doing but I find that one hard to understand.
For a long time now.Looked like his head was in a different place entirely.
I mean I read multiple posters saying something along those lines earlier in this thread. Agree him and Bruno need to be sat. Also wasn’t saying Sancho had some great game, just that I feel a decent portion of our fan base values the wrong things in players just because of our flying wingers of old. Especially with how direct RR is trying to get us to play, having a player give the ball away constantly through poor decisions and technique can’t be tolerated just because he has great pace or can be explosive (personally I still think he isn’t as explosive as he was before the back injury and he might never be).Who is this aimed at? Literally everyone has agreed he needs/needed benching but Sancho played 60 minutes too and did the square root of feck all... Being the tidiest out of that shite show doesn't mean much when for huge portions of the game he was anonymous.
Hopefully Masons fit enough to start soon, Rashford's not good enough atm to be starting. Bruno too but guess we'll save that for his thread.
He needs to retire then. First and foremost he is a footballer and paid a ton of money. Good that he wants to feed kids, but its not his job. You can do all the good charity in the world but if you put shit performance in your job day in day out you will be fired in any other field. His outside venture has make him lose focus on the pitch. His attitude and body language gives me the impression that he's sick of football and just wants to go feed starving kids full time. Sasche Lense needs a lot of one-on-one time with him.
Correct. I thought he was alright last night, better than what we've been seeing from him lately at the very least, but for his final ball. It’s odd. Whilst he had a bad game, he was still easily our most dangerous attacker. Both Sancho and Greenwood were essentially non-existent. Hope he can find his old form again as he’s the potential x-factor in this team.
Likewise YouNeeds to be get rid off asap. Sell him to Newcastle.
This! Out of Ronaldo, Sancho & Bruno it was Rashford that was by FAR most dangerous in attack. I feeling like he slowly finding his feet again after a long lay off. The big elephant in the room is Ronaldo not Rashford. It’s odd. Whilst he had a bad game, he was still easily our most dangerous attacker. Both Sancho and Greenwood were essentially non-existent. Hope he can find his old form again as he’s the potential x-factor in this team.
It shows that you know absolutely nothing about science of health if you don't understand how the spine and back injuries effect a players movement. But but but he's injured
Agreed. It’s odd. Whilst he had a bad game, he was still easily our most dangerous attacker. Both Sancho and Greenwood were essentially non-existent. Hope he can find his old form again as he’s the potential x-factor in this team.
Yeah, he is a threat. Created very good chance for Ronaldo when he got the ball in own half. Apart from that, he looked confused in final third, taking too much time assessing multiple options, messing up attacks. It’s odd. Whilst he had a bad game, he was still easily our most dangerous attacker. Both Sancho and Greenwood were essentially non-existent. Hope he can find his old form again as he’s the potential x-factor in this team.
Maybe because he keep fecking up simple passes, passing backwards, running and dribbling to blind alleys ?Agreed.
I can't understand all the harsh comments threw at him. It's like they watched a different match tbh. Rashford was actually the only one managed to make the Norwich defenders' life difficult.
Maybe that's because he isn't a striker?Maybe because he keep fecking up simple passes, passing backwards, running and dribbling to blind alleys ?
Tbf which one of our front 4 yesterday didn't?Maybe because he keep fecking up simple passes, passing backwards, running and dribbling to blind alleys ?
Im not sure you’re right and we’ll never know, but if SAF had discouraged the work he’s done over the past 12-18 months, he’d have been wrong.SAF would have never let him get distracted by politics. He didn't tolerate Beckham's distractions and even he has done wonders for UNICEF after a great and long career. Rashford seems to want to skip the being a footballer part.
Xavi wouldn’t go near himHe is obviously suffering from a lack of coaching these last few years,as are many. His head seems to be in a different place. If the Barcelona interest is genuine we should engineer a straight swap with Frenkie
