How can any poster look at him and think he's a player we will win the league with? His footballing intelligence is zero. He is all about instincts, greed, moments and luck. He is not a team player, and he doesn't work hard or press at all. Scoring 17 goals in the PL isn't going to change any of that. He is still our most threatening attacker, which is worrying.

When he's on it, he's on it. But he engages headless chicken mode too often, and is sooooooo frustrating to watch.

He'll no doubt have a purple patch soon, but we can't afford that as no-one seems capable of scoring regularly.

He’s so lazy. I wouldn’t mind him not pressing as much in order to exploit his explosiveness; that makes sense. Except he doesn’t use it. He’s in space up against the RB who he can easily burn for pace, but instead of making the run he comes back to collect the ball at his feet, to then play the pass backwards, often at the player who gave it to him in the first place. He also took it to the touchline to play it square a number of times when he’d have been better off shooting, and the one time when he should’ve squared it he shot. It’s maddening.

We will never win the league with this greedy feck in the team. Played for that fat contract last year.

We need to move on from both Rashford and Bruno. We need better players in their positions. Yes, we have worse players. But the two of them cause us the most amount of possession turn overs.
Will never be a consistent team with them.
Totally agreed. Him and Bruno seem to be undroppable. They don't even get subbed out. If Garnacho had put in that performance that Rashford had today, he'd be out of the starting lineup for weeks.

Don’t rate him. Never rated him. We can never build a team around him and Bruno. He’s not fooling me with his top goal scorer chart every 3rd season. He’s a selfish lazy player who is inconsistent as hell. Neither we have the guts to tell him to work hard nor we have the courage to drop him. He’s got us by the balls and has become a poster boy for us for some reason. He can do whatever he likes and we have to put up with that. Manchester United football club is scared to drop or sell a player like him. We deserve everything we get.

Thought he was really good first half. A good early cross, some good runs where they were scared of him and unfortunate the ball went out of play.
Second half was a stinker. Completely selfish and not a player you can trust fully when we need composure.

Like Bruno too much of an individual player. Shocking decision making on show today which isn't exactly uncommon with him. Not convinced he has the ability to play in a fluid system.
The two are issues because they can create a moment out of nothing but our overall play can suffer too

He's Theo Walcott with an unlimited green light.

Can get you good numbers but he'll never be a fixture in a great side because a great side wouldn't have Rashford in it.

He plays as if he's far better than he actually is and the media, fans (some of them) and coaches lap it up.

Wasteful today, but more importantly, lazy. The only way pressing works is if they all do it. I see top players better than him do it all the time. The fact that he's our most threatening player doesn't mean he can slack off. He has a good spell last season, but at the moment he wouldn't get into any top club in europe, and he's our most important player. That can't be the best he could offer.

After we signed a striker I said our wingers need to change their mentality or he will get no service.

His attitude off the ball needs real work

Why did most of our attacks go through him? His decision making is too horrible for this role.
Because we had nobody on the right helping Dalot and Reguilon was great in the buildup and overlapping on the left. So Rashford couldnt possibly have got more support or been given the ball more on the left side. He just couldnt get anything right and a lot of the time, wasnt looking to. He just wanted to shoot

Didn't majority of people call this, sign new contract and turn to shit.
I also remember telling a friend Højlund would suffer with Rashford. Brighton kept it simple in the final third. All their players were putting crosses into the box for easy tap-ins.

Rashford thought he was peak Cristiano - shooting from awkward angles when a simple pass into the box would have yielded far more dividends.

Someone needs to tell him to pass earlier. I can't understand the need to dribble until the goal line to pass. You are just reducing the angle of pass and risk of having the ball out of play. Brighton did the drill perfectly and passed that at the right moment and player. I am sure that has been practised countless time to perfection. On the other hand, our players just hit aimlessly and hope the ball somehow reach another player.

Some of us don't, believe me but when he scores we get told how wrong we are.

Our attack can't be based on getting him the ball and letting him decide what he wants to do. He's already extended his contract on big numbers, so why not try to win with your team rather than just up your own stats only? Terrible showing today

Going to be stuck with this guy stinking up the place with his selfishness because of that absurd contract the club gave him.

Because his goal is to shoot. Meaning that when the ball gets to him, he will try to score. The other players will try to involve others more to build up the attack so might not end up in an attack, or it won't seem like the chances went to them because it spreads across everyone else. Once it hits Rashford's feet, you know he's just going to try to do it alone.

I feel bad for Hojlund. How can he play well when the attackers won't look for him like every other attacking side would? You pretty much need a Benzema to make this attack work and bring some balance back away from Rashford.

He was shit. If he wasn't so selfish and lazy, he'd be one hell of a player.

Seems to think that the whole club is here just to cater to his goals and assists.

Every team in the league has a player that's as dangerous on the ball as him
Many teams have players that are either smarter or much better off the ball than him or both. We'll never be able to press decent sides when he's one of our front attackers pressing.
He genuinely has to be the worst pressers among attacking players in the league. Even Ronaldo in his last stint was at least smart about his positioning even if he hardly did any actual running. Rashford is both lazy and tactically inept to the point he is basically a 6 foot traffic cone. Night and day difference between him and Hojlund in that regard and coincidentally, I don't think Brighton created a single thing down our right the entire time he was on the pitch.

Very selfish player. Wants to do it all, thinks he's the main man and superstar. 8 times out of 10 he'll try to best 3 men and take a shot instead of scanning around for a pass. He's a very good player with alot of pace and trickery but he needs to play for the team!

I expressed this concern when there were rumors of him getting that fat paycheck that this guy wasn't worth the money and it was difficult to see if he ever keeps up the consistency. He couldn't even do it through the course of a season let alone consecutive years.

He's about as useful as Martial at the moment. Rashford should be on the bench these days. Martial should be on the bench 1000 miles away.

Needs to get his head up more, glory hunter.

He wouldn't cut it at a barca, bayern type club because he thinks for himself and doesn't see players in better positions

Wasn't great but we also have nothing on the right, so all our attacks have to go through him. Stick a Salah, Saka on the right, hell anyone that can pick a pass or beat a man and he'd look much better.

He had opportunities to get help in attack today. Unfortunately he didn't want that help.

No reason he see's out a full 90 every week when after like the 60 minute mark he's virtually useless.

Faking injuries near the end sums up his mentality after the crap he delivered today. I’m struggling to see how our attack will ever evolve when he is meant to be our star player in the team, and how will our strikers ever get the required service?

For me he's the player most to blame for us losing today. Had the opportunity to put several tap ins on a plate for Hojlund, barely worked off the ball, and was wasteful on it.

Goals change games, especially for a team like Brighton who are much better front runners than chasers.

This is precisely why some of us were hesitant on giving him a new contract. His decision making is atrocious, he's selfish, and he's lazy as feck.
