He was playing in China up until recently. He's fecking shit, and he's a garbage human being and terrible dressing room influence. That's the issue here though, he's not 'bang average', he is actually a decent player who will probably be happy to be a squad option but who will give his all every time he plays.
But I know fans want shiny new toys to be world class every time, just a shame for them the footballing world doesn't work that way.
A 33 year old player who "only scored two less goals" than the 23 year old West Ham have taken a punt on.He isn't a 'muppet', that's all absolute bollocks.
He's been playing for Bologna and scored two less goals last season than a striker who West Ham paid £30million for in a team that isn't as prolific in the league as Sassuolo. That'll get brushed over by the masses in here because it doesn't fit with their seething agendas.
He's a good player, the reason people on here can't see that is because they want the very best all the time, that ain't going to happen.
It's not about improving our starting eleven, that's actually decent enough up top, it's about improving the depth, unless you feel Garnacho and a wantaway Ronaldo is good enough support for Martial?
He gives his all every time he plays? Managers who have worked with him constantly complain about his work ethic. That's the issue here though, he's not 'bang average', he is actually a decent player who will probably be happy to be a squad option but who will give his all every time he plays.

The only agenda here is people don't want another over the hill stop gap signing. And it seems he's a racist as well.He isn't a 'muppet', that's all absolute bollocks.

yep, excellent pointWe are the laughing stock of the football world. What was it Rangnick said about signing players on their last contract?
This may come as a shock, but there are other forwards in Europe than the ones we’ve got and fecking Arnautovic, God give me strength.Which is a problem why? What's the alternative?
Garnarcho? Decent and a prospect but not ready yet.
Rashford? Not great through the middle.
Anyone else?
He’s a racistWhere are the songs at, any chanters
Fecking hell. Came here to post this. I was expecting we would brief that the interest has died down, not this.On the bbc now, this is officially official, we are KEEN. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/62460220
Of all the rumours that have appeared in the last day's time it had to be the Arnautovic story that had legs. Sané or Ruiz would've been too good to be true.On the bbc now, this is official official. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/62460220
Signing no one would be better than signing Arnautovic. All we'd be doing is adding more deadwood to the squad. We'd get to the end of the season and he'd be linked with a loan move away while we're left picking up half his wagesHe isn't a 'muppet', that's all absolute bollocks.

There are some people here who will blindly defend everything the club does, with no exception. I'm convinced the Glazers have some paid shills infiltrating the Caf; there's no other explanation for it.This may come as a shock, but there are other forwards in Europe than the ones we’ve got and fecking Arnautovic, God give me strength.
I don’t see how anyone can defend this transfer, he’s bang average, past his best and a nightmare in the dressing room. It’s embarrassing that we’ve bid for him.
We are miles off in rating our players, Martial wouldn’t start for any top 6 side in the league and as it’s shown for the past 6 years and his latest loan at Sevilla he will flop once again, he’s nowhere near the standard over a 38 game season. We don’t need support for Martial, he in fact is the support player at best.He isn't a 'muppet', that's all absolute bollocks.

Same player who went on strike to force his way out of West Ham to go to fecking China and has a history of improper behavior yet we should fine with bringing that into an already questionable dressing room just because he might score a few goals off the benchA 33 year old player who "only scored two less goals" than the 23 year old West Ham have taken a punt on.
And this is a selling point.
A thirty million pound punt.A 33 year old player who "only scored two less goals" than the 23 year old West Ham have taken a punt on.
And this is a selling point.
We're ran by fecking imbeciles. On the bbc now, this is officially official, we are KEEN. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/62460220
Didn't the club make losses of £/$92 million last year? There's literally not a pot to piss in. We didn't get anything for 5 players that just left. Brilliant business. The 100 mill reports were probably true. Ther3s no money.
Not a great look, is it?So Erik likes his character...and this guy is a known racist. A new low for Man United
I didn't say it would be a problem. I was responding to a prior poster who suggested he'd be third-choice.Which is a problem why? What's the alternative?
Garnarcho? Decent and a prospect but not ready yet.
Rashford? Not great through the middle.

Yeah, our attack is decent. We didn't struggle to score last season, and we won't struggle to score this season. The only agenda here is people don't want another over the hill stop gap signing. And it seems he's a racist as well.
Coming to the bolded part, how can you even say that after watching us today? Our only goal was from a set piece and it was an OG. Rashford and Bruno missed very good chances and have been shit for more or less for a year and you think our attack is decent? It's about improving depth but also getting in good quality. Not another 33 year old striker. That is the problem people have.
Ha! He'll be in good company.Fixed
Yeah, and I was asking you why Marko stepping in as third choice would be an issue? As that's the idea of a squad, they step in when needed.I didn't say it would be a problem. I was responding to a prior poster who suggested he'd be third-choice.
You keep ignoring the fact Arnautovic is a racist cnut.Yeah, our attack is decent. We didn't struggle to score last season, and we won't struggle to score this season.
Our issue remain elsewhere.
So a striker who scored more goals than Leao last season isn't decent? Yet some on here were hoping for Leao, strange.
I'm all for buying for the future etc, but we have Garnacho who is one for the future, what we need is for the here and now, someone who will provide depth, goals and workrate. That's what Marko will give.
I understand some of the logic behind the stopgap signings. Ronaldo is a legend of the game. Ibrahimovic and Cavani were world class in their day. All of these players have elite mentalities and even if it didn't work, I can see the reasoning for having them around the young attackers in the squad. Ighalo was very questionable, but at least he was a United fan who was made up to be at the club and gave his all the few times he was called upon.A thirty million pound punt.
That's a bit more of a gamble than £8m no?
Sesko scored 5 league goals last season, yet you're happy to spend £40m on him yeah?
Sometimes an issue doesn't need a long term solution, it just needs solving. I think we've come to that point.
It's astonishing. I really don't know what to think. Not a great look, is it?
I mean, the way this looks we've been working on a deal for some weeks - and the news breaks today (for whatever reason - it wasn't the result, it was reported before the match).
The reasons for targeting him (solid backup, offers something we lack, would be an asset to the dressing room, ETH has worked with him before and likes his attitude) are reported by multiple sources simultaneously, i.e. seems very much like a brief.
So, nobody - weeks ago, when the player was first approached - thought twice about this? Nobody realized that this is a stupid feckin' idea from a PR perspective? A random Caf member could have told them that this is a player who won't just arrive - like a "decent backup" transfer - under the radar, like: of course both fans on social media and journos of all sorts would react to United signing this prick. Do they understand nothing about how these things work - especially in England and especially when United are involved?
