Martial has got to remain at United | No, he hasn't been unfollowing United players on Instagram

That's just the Player Performance Forum. The Manchester United Forum has several massive threads (including this one) which is full of people idolising him to an unreasonable level. No onther United player has such a massive cult on here.
I’m pretty sure the number of replies is due to the drastic split in opinion. There are just as many posts saying things like ‘Martial FC’ and saying he needs to do more. Reminds me a bit of when Nani was here. A player that can take players on and get you off your seat will always endear themselves to a lot of fans - even more so when it has become quite a rare occurrence in our team of late.

I think both sides are waiting and seeing what next season brings. If it leads to progression and he gets a proper chance, then he'll sign the deal. If not, he'll be gone on a reduced fee.

That was with Fergie as manager who afforded him every opportunity as well. He did improve though I dont think its fair to say he didnt improve much in his first 3 years
Think it's fair to say Ronaldo has completely different mentality to Martial though, in fact compared to most players.

Its also fair to say Ronaldo in terms of his productivity first 3 years was inconsistent, and in todays day and age and with this manager he would be called out for it when he shouldn't

Please break down into positive and negative comments please.

You're assuming all the replies are idolising him. His thread is so long because there's a mix of people who rate him and those who want him to feck off, so the two 'factions' collide and bicker. Also from all the players mentioned in the image he's one of the few going through contract negotiations and had reportedly rejected one so that was discussed in there partly too.
Your assumption is no more definitive than mine. The idolisation is unreasonable.

what is this martial fc thing all about?

I think it is just the result of Mourinho's style of man management filtering towards in through the club in to some of the fans.

He likes to build his team with the mentality of going to war, that everybody in the world is against them progressing and moving forward, that some players are not good enough, some players are lazy and that they hold back the other players that try extremely hard to win this war and more recently the legend of the old does not want to see this club progress with the new.

Martial is deemed to be by Jose and now some of the fans - someone who does not have the mentality to go to war, does not work hard and holds back the team due to his relative 'inconsistency'.

Some can see through this type of management- especially when the sergeant is simply not as good as he used to be and can see the mistakes of sidelining anthony martial. Martial has had his strikers shirt number removed, has coincidentally not had a game at ST for 2 years, has played LW on and off and dropped when on form - just purely to show the inconsistency of the management of martial.

He is deemed not good enough because our manager thinks he is not good enough rather than has proof he is not good enough. Martial is a type of player with positives such as technique, plays with his face towards the goal and ball on the floor that the manager does not appreciate in comparison to the mentality of going to war, grit, defensive work etc.

Some fans have chosen this approach & want to go to war and regard martial as a soldier that is not good enough. He is now someone who might as well be regarded as an enemy rather than anyone within our ranks because everyone in the world is against us and martial thinks he is bigger than manchester united.

It's now Martial FC vs Manchester United FC.

Everyone Vs Manchester United

Number1 (40 posts), Paz (32 posts), Jaybomb (29 posts), NikSab (8 posts). It is a fact those four were constantly negative about him in that thread, to name just a few. Posts quoting/mentioning Number1 in that thread: 51, Paz: 25, NikSab: 9, Jaybomb: 64! The Number1/Jaybomb period was particularly tedious for making that thread longer than it should have been.

There's probably at least a hundred posts in that thread debating/moaning about "Martial FC" too and over a hundred posts talking about contracts.

Our best performing, most calm and world class POTY at the very other end at bottom.

Probably because he's the most exciting young talent at the club. I bet every club has a 'massive cult' surrounding their brightest young talent. It further makes sense given we don't exactly have an expetienced consistent performers who is exactly iconic either, and people are enamoured with what we could be rather than what we are.

That makes sense too. There's little to debate with regards to DDG. He is simple incredible and everyone knows it. If his thread was the longest it would just be one long stream of praise in which everyone agreed on everything.

Do you really think that's what this table shows? You should notice a pattern that all the players on top half of the table are the ones who most of the fans have split opinions against.

"Martial only scores as a sub" brigade is back I see.
There’s merit in saying he’s been better when having a point to prove. Four goals in 12 sub appearances in the league and five in 18 starts. The difference in his performance off the bench against Arsenal and starting against Bournemouth was night and day too. He’s not the only player in the squad who seems to have a problem with complacency but there’s plenty there pointing to it.

How many of those threads have people saying that they hope those players leave because they deserve better? That’s the cult, rather than the volume of posts.
