Been a warrior at the back. I've been impressed overall, not sure how he's not liked a by a lot. Seems capable of playing in a faster defensive setup than Maguire.
A stark contrast with Lindelof today. Brilliant showing from De Ligt. I mostly think he's been a solid signing for us thus far in general to be honest - would say he's by some margin our best centre back.

The only thing I worry about is his best performances come on the side of a 3. I’d really love him to excel in the centre more as I could see Yoro and Heaven becoming great covering the spaces on the outside.
Possibly his best game for us? De Light, Heaven, Yoro, those will be great options for us there

It’s a tantalising thought of having Heaven and Yoro at the either side of him.

Such a good deal to bring him in at a reasonable price and at his age. I know it's irrelevant because Bruno always plays but he should be our deputy captain.
He should never be shunted wide ever again. He is the club's number one CB.
He has been quality since he arrived, yet somehow it never gets a mention and instead we have to listen to some baffling takes on how bad his transfer has been.
I think it's by some fans who think knocking De ligt down will elevate Maguire's value to the team. Obviously needs to improve but he has been a very good buy. Top player.

On paper Dorgu - Heaven - De Ligt - Yoro - Dalot is our strongest back line from the current squad.
Given Heavens likely absence for the foreseeable God forbid dare I suggest Shaw could slot in for Heaven. If only for 45 mins one game in April.

A lot of fans can't believe that we could ever sign players from clubs like Bayern without there being something wrong with them. Also the narrative is that he "failed" at Juve and Bayern, as opposed to he did well enough at Juve that Bayern wanted him and did well enough at Bayern that United wanted him...there is an inferiority complex that good players from top clubs would never want to come here unless it was purely for money and the selling club knew they would imminently fall off a cliff.
