I don't know why but I find great pleasure in watching the press conference presenting Moyes and then immediately watching the Mourinho one.

Interesting how he says, "Our two strikers" about Rashford and Zlatan; not mentioning Rooney.

That was music to my ears. He's not going to focus on getting back to the Champions League, he's not going to focus on getting 4th place; he's going to focus on winning. That there is the right mentality that will hopefully filter down to the squad. Something that has been lacking for, what, three seasons?

Lovely dig at Van Gaal and his philosophy, poor fellow. Encouraging to hear him talk about his preference for specialist players over multi-tools, perhaps another dig at Van Gaal? It was a relief to hear everything he said concerning Rooney. I understood the implication is that Rooney will be a number 10; thank God we won't have to see him labour in midfield, not too much anyway. This could be the end of wingers as full backs, play makers as centre halves and clearly the end of strikers in midfield. Normality seems to be resuming it's rightful place at home, let's hope for normality in the league too :D

"I don't hide that I chase Sir Alex records [in Champions League]"

"I was never very good at hiding behind words, and hiding behind philosophies."

"What is playing well? Playing well is score more goals than the opponent; is to concede less goals than the opponent; is to make your fans proud because you give absolutely everything."

"I don't want the players to start the season thinking we have to do better. What is to do better? To do better is to finish fourth? To finish fourth is not the aim."

"There are some managers that the last time they won a title was ten years ago. Some of them the last time they won a title was never. The last time I won a title was one year ago...So if I have a lot to prove, imagine the others."

"I am the manager of the biggest club in the Premier League."

Donald Love is absolutely woeful mate, he is no where near the other four you mentioned.

Academy players will get their chance if they are good enough, otherwise it is pointless like LVG and McNair, Blackett and Love.
I think Jose will give kids a chance if they are exceptional like TFM and Rashford, he will not just play kids to keep the legacy going, for the sake of it. It is great giving kids a chance, but if they really are not that good, it does not do the team any good. Some who played last season were great in their first game, but when they got another chance they were poor.

Sounded alright, the press will try and make out certain things he said as something else, a couple of points i.e the promotion of 49 kids from various academy's sounds a bit fanciful coming from him but I wouldn't know for sure and the point he made about United being the biggest club in the UK, while that is obviously true he should of said "the world" so that's a black mark against him for me, could do better as my teachers often said, that and "Oi! You little shit stop that now!"

I wasn't going to watch the PC as it sounded like a good one so didn't need to, but I'm glad I did, was even better than I thought going by the descriptions from other posters.

Great bits about Giggs and Rooney, well everything really, absolutely no bs, I'm the boss and this is what I want, fantastic

Really liked his answers and I think he will manage to bring a winning spirit back into the team. Looking forward to the start of the season now.

When he has managed and been in gigantic pressure cooker situations like Real Madrid, trying to conquer a freak of nature in the pep's Barcelona and managed to do it, why should he then come to United where the defending champions are leicester city, why not look to win? Jose has been through it all, any manager like Jose manages real madrid, he is not coming here to bring a philosophy, but to win. Its much like top strikers that come to clubs to score goals, same has Mourinho his goals is trophy's. Biggest clubs in england and europe don't look to finish 4th, one reason why real madrid have 11 european cups their mentality is to win

What jacket is he wearing
Not normally impressed by that kind of teamwear, but it somehow looks great on JM.

FIVE THINGS WE LEARNED FROM JOSE MOURINHO'S EXCLUSIVE MUTV INTERVIEW
Jose Mourinho shared some of his immediate plans at Manchester United when he provided an exclusive one-to-one interview to MUTV after his maiden press conference.

We pinpointed the following five things that we learned from Mourinho's conversation with MUTV reporter Stewart Gardner, which was first shown on the club's official television channel on Tuesday evening:

TRAINING STARTS ON THURSDAY
When asked how hungry he is to get started, the new manager replied: "I'm desperate! I want to train on the pitch and, in spite of many players not being here to start pre-season, I have a group that is waiting for me on Thursday and they will feel my passion!"

A DIFFERENT STYLE WILL BE PLAYED
Mourinho explained he will bring his own style of football to the club. "Yes, we want to play differently than last season. Mr [Louis] van Gaal is an absolute top manager and his philosophy is very clear. My philosophy is different. It's not better, it's different. My football is different. I am more vertical, I am more intense and I like the ball possession as a way to create a chance to be vertical. I don’t like ball possession as a way to just keep statistically possession of the ball and be afraid to play a game with transitions. Transitions always come during a game. I’m not afraid to lose the ball, I’m not afraid of risk."

WHY WE SIGNED BAILLY
The manager feels Ivory Coast defender Eric Bailly possesses a rare blend of qualities. "It’s not so easy to find a big guy who is really fast. But he is a player that we believe has all the attributes. He is very strong physically and [is also] very fast."

ENGLAND TRIO WON'T PLAY ON TOUR
Although United's England Euro 2016 contingent of Chris Smalling, Marcus Rashford and Wayne Rooney are set to travel with the squad to China later this month, they will not feature in the games against Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City. "I'll take them but I'm not going to play them," revealed Mourinho.

TWO YOUNGSTERS PROMOTED INTO SQUAD FOR WIGAN
Tyrell Warren and Axel Tuanzebe are likely to be involved in the pre-season friendly at the DW Stadium after the two young defenders were name-checked by the boss during the interview. He told MUTV: "I don't know them well but I just trust Nicky Butt, [head of football development] John Murtough and the [youth] structure's judgement, when they say we have a few players who, in a couple of years, can be first-team players."
