Based on what? That's just speculation.

At least the Mexican club confirmed the United interest in their player.
The chairman or something said that was complete nonsense. Pogba fits what we need and a lot of journalists have said we're after him.

1. Jose said all the right things but the continuous digs at Wenger and other Mangers are childish and petty
I'm not sure they were brutal digs; more like Mourinho plainly stating how his attitude and working style is different to bosses like LVG & co.

That's how I interpret it as well.
Me too. I think it's very smart motivational man management. He's drawing a line under a couple of years of decline for Rooney in the LVG system, and giving him an opportunity to prove himself capable of fulfilling the role he has always wanted to be in (i.e a forward).

I think the Mexican chap isn't Mou's signing but the youth academy one

Passion, desire, ambition and arrogance. Not trying to lower our expectations or chatting up the shite Europa league. We finally have the right man.

I am glad that Mourinho signed. Its about feckin time that winning is at the very top of our agenda. It hasn't been so for at least half a decade

Sounds like Jose smashed it out of the park. Surely an improvement over LvG's philosophy, it's a process, sex masochist crap.

Heh, remember when Wuminater was talking shit yesterday about how we should prepare for lowering expectations in Moyes/LVG ilk today.

Again, I'm really happy that he pointed out that Uefa stats showed how many teams his teams have had the best statistics regarding injuries. He was really implying that he knows how to get a squad ready to win the league without over training them, which is congruent with all the stories I've heard from players.

For example at Inter, he would give Sneijder a week off from training to go to his kid in Holland, only thing he asked him was to be mentally ready for the match on Sunday. He's very relaxed and knows exactly how to get players into perfect shape throughout the season, unlike Van Gaal who was so obsessed with control, and him being so extremely rigid has cost us so much.

Still though, players like Jones or someone like Robben are just extremely injury prone, you can't really manage them. But in general this is a massive upgrade on Van Gaal's rigid views on training constantly, so much that we look like zombies on Saturday.

I don't know if it's posted already, but are we allowed to post a link for that press conference? If yes, can somebody do it please? :)

Anyway, I liked his press conference very much, altough I would like to see that list of youth players.
There is not such a list unless he includes players who got 5 minutes when 3-0 up and that 's it.
I have already come to terms that we won't see much of the juice education under him. I just hope Rashford, CBJ and TFM at least aren't wasted.

Can't believe nobody asked him what his plans were for Rashford.

We'll bring reinforcements for four positions in the first team, we already bought three players and we're waiting for the fourth addition. I prefer specialists in each position to multi-positional footballers.
When we have the 4th, I will breathe, and we will do this before August 31st.
These are not the words of a man chasing a u/21's player from mexico

I was sceptical towards the club hiring him but I thoroughly enjoyed that.

Pros:
- Answered in a calm and confident manner
- No more hollow words like 'philosophy' to hide behind
- The complete shutdown of the Rooney Midfield Experiment, and perhaps Rooney as a starter too?
- The funny way he handled the revealing of Mhikitaryan signing
- His part about transfers. Boosting the spine with specialists and confirming the last player will be signed before DD
- He didn't take the bait when asked questions about Guardiola
- The comment he made about Giggs (which he based on his own career)

Cons:
- The Rafa facht sheet. He didn't sound too convincing when asked about promoting youth
- That he might play Rooney as a 10

Neutral:
- The Wenger dig

I thought Jose came out in a fighting mood and wanted to set record straight on a number of issues. Im afraid this will be the norm because at United questions will alwauys be asked. He will do well to have someone to consult before making rash decisions fighting the press. Hope it ends well because he looked tetchy

Seems that 4-3-3 is out of the question now. Rooney is #10 in a 4-2-3-1. Don't like the sound of that unless it's for a few games only to show that he's crap there and drop him and then use 4-3-3.

I think when he was talking about the support of Woodward etc re transfers it fits along the lines of what the press has been saying re Pogba. Please make this happen.

I don't think he needs any help whatsoever in regards to dealing with the media.

"You and your paper can feck off."
Didn't watch it so only going on the bits I've read and you'll know better than me. So he raised the topic of a 4th signing and none of the "journalists" pushed him for more info?

He said nothing that made me think Roo is in trouble.
It is just the usual suspects hating Rooney.
He only said Rooney would play 9 - 9,5 - or 10, but never 6, and after a pause he said "never 8 either".
True. From what I understood, he is willing to give Rooney another shot.

Of course they didn't, as the player in question isn't English, or involving Wayne Rooney.

Nope, probably knew it would be pointless. He was never going to say "We are trying to sign Pogba".

Very convincing press conference as always. Seems ready to get down to business.

Looks like a 4-2-3-1 with Mkitaryian, Rooney and Martial behind Ibrahimovic is likely to be the plan then. The fourth signing will be who partners Schweinsteiger/Schneiderlin/Carrick in the middle obviously.

No point, he would probably just give a non-answer like "I can't say at this time but you will see"
