Cant be arsed to look for streams after Sky just went full brainfart but it sounds how this classless cnut creating a circus already,oh and he could turn up in suit.
I know how you feel

its gonna take some getting used to supporting the side when you really detest the manager

It will get easier if we start well

433 is only out of the question if you consider rooney a must start. Jose isnt bound to the "my captain shall always play " rule that lvg has

It was a little underwhelmed to be honest. I thought he had lost a little of the swagger, the charm. However, with that being said he did sound super confident to me, and I really got the feeling that he will not be sentimental with any players, and plays to win.

Basically if you do not perform you will not be playing.

Cant believe no one pressed him on the 4th signing, unless they had been briefed not to mention the 'P' word

Didn't watch it so only going on the bits I've read and you'll know better than me. So he raised the topic of a 4th signing and none of the "journalists" pushed him for more info?
You ever met English so called journos? Even if he told them something like "i know who is 4th,just ask me and will give you name" next question would be "So Jose,Rooney will he be your captain or?"

Mixed bag but overall a pretty good presser. Got stronger toward the end IMO. The youth thing was a little cringe and he talked around a couple of questions.

He seems a different man. I think it's a different Mourinho we will see at Man United.

Thank god!! Rooney is history come January 2017.
Moyes came in and rewarded him a bumper contract.
LVG arrived and made Rooney The King. He shoehorned him into any position he could, so he could play. Rooney's lack of goal scoring ultimately cost LVG his job.
I don't think Mourinho is going to make the same mistake.

I think Rooney will be gone within 12 months (assuming he continues to play badly).

Well, wouldnt say that i detest the manager,to be honest never had anything against his style of football not like some here who were mocking him and his bus, just now to wave with some goals scored in RM because his is United manager. Just saying my opinion about the man,i think he is classless cnut but 80% here wanted him, what i find funny is that,if things go south at first sign,i would show more support towards him then 80% of those 80%.

Might not be the best thread to bring this up on but its kinda relevant after the list. I would love to see Fergies "list" of youth brought through after the incredible fortune that was the class of 92. Wes Brown, Danny Welbeck, Jon oShea and Tom Cleverly. 4 in 10-15 years??

For me Jose and Fergie are incredibly similar. They produce counter attacking teams with men rather than fannies.

Really enjoyed Mou's first press con. He started slow but really go full throttle no BS ala Jose after awhile. I am looking forward of more enjoyable press con from our new manager.

Things that i enjoyed the best

1. Clear explanation about Ryan Giggs situation. Giggs want the manager position which clearly United unable to provide right now due to the circumstances. He respected Giggs decision to leave and wish him good luck.

2. Transfers.. Yes everybody knew about Bailly, Ibrahimovic and Mkhitaryan already and now everyone will speculate who is the confirmed 4th target. Hopefully Pogba.

3. Dig on Wenger and LvG. Mou at his best again. What not to like. Especially purring when he said he doesn't promote the youth player due to injury condition coz his team always hv the best injury record.

4. The statement that we (notice he always used "we" when refer to United) want to win everything and not just improve from last season. Great stuff and will only motivate our players again.

I know exactly what your saying......but from the outside looking in, ie opposition support, 80% found Fergie to be a classless cnut

He smashed big time, within 30 mins he hadca dig at lvg, wenger, rooney, pep and answered the myth of not pronoting youth and playing attractive football.

Makes a change from the shit we heard from lvg about philosophy...

Not bad for first conference.
- Digs at other managers and LVG.
- We want to win !!! enough said.
- Put some pressure on Rooney.
- Clearing the situation about Giggs.
- Funny moment about that third transfert target.

Can't wait for the beginning of the season with all that.

I like that he has come out with a bit of aggression and not dodged anything. The club needed that.

I loved the conference, he comes over so well and you can see why the media love him. I hope the fans who have doubt grow to love him as I firmly believe he can bring to the club what Fergie's done for so many years. I love the guy. :)

I remember people similarly excited by LvG's 1st press conference and to say otherwise is a lie

I think he feels he has had to wind his neck in a bit, but just wait until the season starts. Think there will still be fireworks. Can't wait.
Maybe but his usual arrogance wasn't there in his press conference.

Will be very interested to see how the season shapes out.

I love his non-nonsense approach and his will to win. Even if he fail this or next year, I will give my full support. This is the man we are waiting. I don't know if I was this supportive if Pep is the manager. Guess what I bought my first Man Utd jersey for the first time since supporting them maybe 30 years.

Between Martial, Rashford and Zlatan, if Rooney is to play upfront, he's the worst of the 4 options we have.
If you, I and most caf members can see this, you can bet that Jose sees it as well.
LVG was the guy who was blind to Rooney's failings.
Jose is basically correcting everything which was wrong about LVG's system (the flaws which most caf members kept talking about, ie. playing players out of position, playing Rooney, not scoring enough goals, worrying more about possession rather than winning a game, etc).

Very encouraging conference IMO. I enjoyed it, only "iffy" part for me was the youth development part, but that was always likely to be a sore topic. Very impressed with honest and direct with the rest of it though.

A pretty uninspiring list. If they're the best youngsters he's had, then it makes little sense to play them if they're not any good. His comments about some managers bringing in youngsters because of injuries is a valid one. Giving debuts to the likes of Blackett, McNair and the likes is nice, but ultimately doesn't really benefit the club.

Best first press conference that I have seen. Said exactly the things one wanted to hear. Rooney should be worried by this (I hope) and it also now looks certain we've closed Miki and are chasing Pogba. Interesting to therefore see the Matuidi rumours. Reassuringly, he's said we'll have done all our business well before Aug 31 (unlike a certain Real Madrid). This would be in keeping with the general trend of Jose's clubs moving quickly and ruthlessly early in the window. That's why his teams start so hot! Am really looking forward massively now to this season...

Great press conference. Excellent news about Rooney and it seems he won't hesitate to drop him if he's not playing well.

3 players done, one to go. This makes me wonder though, if Pogba, as expected, goes to Real, or decides to stay put, then we stick with these three signings? I think that, with Pogba we'd challenge for the title, without we'll challenge for top 3/4.

Good conference.

Calm, controlled, articulate and focussed on his United career.

He knows what he wants and how he plans to achieve his goals.

I think he showed a lot of respect to our club. He didn't give himself a silly name and there was no daft humour.

He came across as a man meaning business, respecting the legacy and reminding us that we are a winning club and he wants to uphold our traditions.

I liked it.

People saying he'll sign 4 but if I heard him right, there may be more depending on who we sell. We plan for 4 but I think we might consider more business if a few players are sold and we're light in a certain position. Pogba would seem a logical choice - especially with Jose pretty much writing off Rooney as a midfielder and him seeking a specialist.

He seems a different man. I think it's a different Mourinho we will see at Man United.
Were all hoping he has changed a little but he is who he is. Last years disaster with Chelsea in some ways might help him in the long run as up to that point he felt he was untouchable. Hopefully he will be a little humble now and a bit less of a prick.
Will be interesting when a few results don't go his way as that's when we will know if is a changed man as in the past he likes to throw his dummy out the pram.

People who believe that Mourinho will sell Rooney are setting themselves up for disappointment.

His comments suggest that he's going to play Rooney behind Ibra in the 10 spot, with Martial out left and Miki out right.
