A lot slower paced episode this week, setting it up for the next few I suppose. The flashback scene at the start was very good. Tyrell is a twat. He was so much in control of situations at the start, now he's a loose-canon who doesn't seem to know what to do.

I can't fecking decide any more if Mr Robot is a real individual or Elliot's personality!

What a mindfeck for the psychiatrist! Not sure why but I was expecting them to start banging each other at the end there.
That scene with Tyrell and your one was grim. Weird because you often see that method on tv but that just seemed very graphic and intense.

Definitely slower this week in moving the plot along, but another really good episode.

Yeah, the scene with Tyrell was rough and unexpected, for me anyway.

It's still the TV show I look forward to most each week now though. How many episodes are left?

3 I think.

Yeah it was slow but brilliant. It's just wonderfully written. Remi Malek was fantastic at the end.

Thanks Cina. Has a second season been commissioned yet? I love how character driven it is. I mean, compared to a lot of TV series now where you could be 3/4 seasons deep and still not really know a character. In this the characters are so well written and well developed.

Yeah he is a serious actor.

So much of what I assumed was going on in this show looks like it isn't now. Excellent TV.

Got renewed before the pilot had aired!

^Which is great news. The episode was great. Elliot revealing himself to the therapist was probably a bigger shock than the murder (BTW, yea, hes gone batshit crazy from being a man in control of his actions).

The month skip was good imo.

Just got halfway through the 1st episode, and I'm liking it so far. Sorta reminds me of Dexter where the main character is always talking inside his own head and trying to assimilate with others in order to maintain a secret identity. Only minor quibble I've got is this theme of anti-consumerism/anti-capitalism which I hope doesn't become a recurring message of the show.

I noticed there was a mention of a pilot episode on the first page of this thread. The beginning of the episode I'm watching starts with him confronting a child pornographer in his coffee shop. Is there a prior episode to this?

Nah, that's the first/pilot.

Well you may have a problem there then. Not sure why it would be an issue for anyone tho. It's one of the many things I like about this show...

TBH, it does get mentioned but its not there in your face all the time given the stories in the program. If that makes sense. You will see anyway, but you will enjoy the show if you like the pilot so far.

Mainly because I don't want to be preached to while watching television, the point is to be entertained. However if it's a necessary part of the story or character, then I don't mind. Do you not see the irony of the anti-consumerism stance of the main character (don't know his name) while he's hacking from the latest and greatest in laptop technology? As I said it's only a minor quibble and seeing that I quite enjoyed everything else about the 1st episode, it's something I'll be able to easily overlook.

No not really, it is a consumer driven society and his anti-consumer mindset is fair enough and actually fits with his dissociative persona. I can relate to that. I'm bemused why you feel like your being preached to... just take it for what it is, entertaining tv.

There is no irony, it's not like he's a vegetarian eating meat. He's a hacker using a laptop to hack, for all you know he stole that laptop or purchased it using I'd theft. I'd think he had bigger things on his mind than the logo on his laptop.

Keep watching, it's a fcuking good show.

Halfway through the 3rd episode now, I'm hooked.
Coulda used some warning though before it showed the one dude balls deep plowing the other bloke from behind.

Am I right in assuming from all the "Evil Corp" references that Elliott is an unreliable narrator? Some plot points still aren't making sense but I'm guessing that's down to Elliott's viewpoint/social anxiety disorder.

You should spoiler that, so a few other hapless cafards can get traumatised like we did... :nervous:

Holy crap.. this latest episode. This is the best show I have watched in a while. Not since when I watched Breaking Bad's first season way back when it was about to finish it's first season, have I felt this excited about a show.

Feck, I gave up on this in the middle of the 4th episode (when Elliott was going through withdrawals and they were about to break into Steel Mountain). It was just getting tedious and then I read a couple spoilers that kinda ruined it for me. Sounds like I need to give this another go.

Fantastic episode, maybe even the best so far. So much to take in, so much to discuss.

Darlene saying "youve forgotten again" is worryingly brilliant too.

This was much better than I expected as a reveal (or reveals) and yet theres so much more to wonder. Excellent. (also I loved the soundtrack that goes with it)

And despite all this, im still not sure whether Mr Robot is real or not

Just watched the latest episode directly after the True Detective finale. I'm not even one of True Detective's biggest critic, but the gulf in class is mindblowing. This is comparable to season 1 of True Detective.

Again, another fantastic episode. Don't think it'll appeal to the masses like breaking bad did, but those who do get into it will absolutely love it.

The entire sister thing really surprised me totally, never expected it.
Yeah, it was great, and I'm pretty sure if I watch the episodes again I'll have loads of "oh shit" moments.

Like in episode 1..

"How do you know where I live?"
"Why wouldn't I know where you live?"

Very true. Their relationship will make more sense now.

That was the first thing that came to my mind (that scene) when trying to think of thinks that have happened between the two before it was revealed. Also makes sense why she is friends with Angela as well.

Also that whiterose scene was fantastic too. Hasnt really been mentioned cos of the revelations but I thought it was fantastic as well. And not even mentioned yet how fecked Tyrell and his gf/wife are.

I'm surprised more people on here haven't started watching, considering the universal praise it's getting here.

Can someone explain to me, is Whiterose really a transvestite or was that just a disguise?

Disguise maybe? I honestly had no idea when I watched, had no clue whether it was a guy, a girl or what lol

I dropped it around the point where
Elliot was getting over his drug problem.

I'm so glad I picked it up again without reading any spoilers, fantastic show.

I sort of dropped it myself too, there were a couple of episodes (4 and 5 I think) that I didn't fully focus on so I kind of lost the plot, and it seems kinda difficult to rewatch episodes you've already kind of seen. I don't even know, it must be some weird subconscious thing that happens. Will definitely give it a go again, just need to force myself.
