I'll be subscribing online for a month for the Pre-season tour, then cancelling. It's no doubt a fantastic channel and I'd love to watch the documentaries, but unfortunately it's too expensive on top of the extortionate fees already charged just to follow the current United team on TV.

I have done the same. Not sure the point of MUTV now to me. I watch them for the pre-season. Most of United's games are live on Sky/BT. If not I will just watch the highlights on Sky.

£5 to watch the preseason tour is fantastic value for money tho.

I ditched Sky for the first time this year. Took the BT tv deal ontop of my broadband for an extra 2 or 3 quid per month, its fine has virtually all the channels except SKy Atlantic etc for a fraction of the cost. May permanently keep MUTV now

Thought it was £7. It is great for that, but I got fed up with the phone-ins and the pundits on the phone-ins who obviously never watch football apart from United. Someone would ring in and mention a player who is really famous and they had never heard of them.

You can now watch MUTV online in the UK which is awesome.

What is not so awesome? Paddy Crerard is still the main pundit:( 2 mins into the Tour show he says Lukaku and Pogba 'play together for Belgium' No Paddy, no they don't. Nice guy, part of United history, dreadful on tv.

Also, "United legends Bryan Robson and Mikaël Silvestre" is an odd line :P But I always quite liked Silvestre
They call most ex players legends for some reason, though Silvestre is not a bad pundit for them. He's better than a lot of the regulars.

Going into the future MUTV are going to run into problems getting ex-players on board because of the level of money players made in the last 15-20 years. Will probably end up with a lot more players like Djordic who only ever actually played 1-2 games for United.

I predict 10 years from now there will be a weekly show on MUTV presented by Bebe and Obertan.

The presenters are simply too dull. Throw money at G Neville for a weekly show or have someone like Evra on when he retires.
May / Dion / Pallister and Lou just don't cut it.
Plus Bryan Robson, Yorke, Dennis Irwin etc. As United shows goes I think the lineup is pretty damn impressive personally.

I see. I have got it through Sky on the TV. Fair enough.
You seem to get access to the online version for free if you are a Sky subscriber

Haha yeah nothing would surprise me with MUTV. If ever a channel needed a serious shakeup its Mutv, basically the same format since 1999 and every show devolves into a phone-in with mostly the same callers.

After the Europa final i switched it on expecting some behind the scenes stuff from the dressing room etc., only to find Stewart standing in a car park with Pallister and Van Der Gouw conducting you guessed it a phone-in.

Watching Rio's tour diary from 2013. Moyes, Zaha, Welbeck, Adnan, Buttner .... feels like an alternative reality

Does the online version let you record games to watch them at a time that suits? Or is it basically just an MUTV live-stream?
Dunno about that, but it has an extensive on demand section of the last months content that you can watch at any time. Games may be added to that, hard to know.
Some info here - http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-F...-ireland-via-live-streaming-mutv-dot-com.aspx

Steve Round is currently playing a practical joke on a chef - biggest impact he ever had at United.

I am ready to pay for subscription, but MUTV is not available in my country. Online version is pretty useless too considering the speed of internet connection here.

Found a show in the on demand section called Fergie's First XI. Really good show.

had never heard the story about Atkinson letting the bus driver sit on the bench and Fergie kicking him out

I was just looking online a few days ago to see if I could get MUTV online and now it's here. Announce Fabinho.

Watching the same, boy oh boy , dull squad with some overweight players. Moyes seriously had no clue what he was doing. Looking back I feel he took things too lightly. Was trying to feed off fergies success

Is that the one where they keep finding Anderson eating crisps?

What a joke that guy was.

Isn't it usually half price on Sky around this time of the year? Anybody gotten that offer? I usually get it for every preseason.

Djordic is easily the best pundit on MUTV to be fair. He's the only one who doesn't sit on the fence and pushes the boundaries.

Don't get me wrong i like him he's not a bad pundit. But my point was that going into the future the pundits on MUTV will become more and more obscure ex united players who barely ever played a game for the club.

Subscribed. £5 a month for all that on demand content and match highlights etc if fine by me. If they start taking down all the good On Demand stuff and replacing it with stupid crap though, I'll cancel

I've been watching a bit of MUTV recently and fecking hell it really is stuck in the early 2000s with phone ins, incredibly cheap looking sets and nothing that would suggest they have any exclusive access. The best thing about it is the archive matches but even those are ruined with Paddy Crerand's commentary from about 2003 onwards. He just can't help himself with every fecking decision, he's not even a bit Partridge like Lawro, just a constant annoyance and I admire anyone who has to commentate with him.

I agree about the cost.. not about it being fantastic. It's actually pretty embarrassing and close to Liverpool TV. If it was free with Sky's sports channels it would probably still be too much!

Its not a fantastic channel. At all. Well, assuming it hasnt changed in the six years or so since I cancelled my subscription. And it sounds like it hasnt.

I dont think even the club would argue it is to be honest. They could invest more in it, even within the confines of what is allowed by the PL TV deal, which is certainly very restrictive. But it seems more like the club wants to have an established channel in place so that if and when the situation with the TV deal does change itll have the infrastructure in place to capitalise on any opportunities that arose quickly.

One day, if the agreement to sell PL rights collectively fell apart and the club was free to make its own arrangements, the club would be in a position to use MUTV to leverage a very good deal for its own games with Sky or whoever. And if it didnt get a suitably gargantuan deal, it could ramp up MUTV and show all United games via its own channel. At that point it would become a goldmine. Given the size of our fanbase it would increase the gap between us and our domestic rivals by an order of magnitude, I imagine. Assuming we were still competitive if and when it ever happened.

Came to this thread to say exactly this. Anyone seen a half price offer for it yet?

Just watching a bit as I'm stuck home with man flu.

Is David May some kind of wannabe dead pan comic or just a bit of a miserable bastard?

Dwight Yorke is bankrupt, I read the other day. Maybe they could give him a job?
He does work for MUTV he was on yesterday.

Bryan Robson is on a lot this year, was he always so prominent previously?
