I don't know how many saw this, but prior to the match david may was adamant how Herrera cannot be considered as a starter and he would prefer carrick. Silvestre looked shocked himself.

It really pains me to say more than half of the presenters in mutv have no clue on what they are saying. Bojan is probably the only one who I really enjoy listening to.
David May is clueless. I remember him getting all defensive about Moyes and Rooney when the callers criticised them. He even said that Moyes wasn't gonna get sacked so we should just "support someone else"

He's a twat.

What does May actually do? I've just realised he does absolutely feck all and offer less than zero.
It's like he doesn't realise he's on TV and is just some bloke in the pub a few pints down. Can't believe he gets paid for it.

Surely not? Herrera has been one of our best performers and amongst the best midfielders in the league.
David Stowell one of the three presenters was discussing whether this is United's strongest line up to which silvestre said bar Herrera ,it is probably United's strongest line up. David may said something like Herrera has to do more to dislodge a player like carrick , who is a club legend.

Bojan Djordjic is like the polar opposite of Paddy on commentary, actual insight and a sense of humour, he deserves a better gig than MUTV.
Djordjic is actually really good, I've been enjoying his punditry. Didn't expect that at all.

The streaming service was a disgrace last night. Illegal streams were far more reliable and higher quality.

Embarrassing, really.

Right. The Carrick of 5 years ago was a really good player but today Herrera offers our team far more.

It's the England thing May won't be the last to come out with that this season .Now Rooney is gone Carrick is the one pundits will cling to at every opportunity .

Expect Savage and co to repeatably express their shock and disgust every time Carrick doesn't start

But sadly they never defended or fought for carrick when they had to. Where were they when carrick was constantly ignored by england managers. Now it's too late and little.

I've always thought that when watching him. Not very professional, checking his phone, looking at what's going on around him and always stating the obvious. He's really shite! I'd rather see Denis Irwin on there. Reckon he'd make a good pundit.

Denis is on MUTV quite regularly. He was been out there in the States with MUTV this time. Just not doing the games.

I think it's wonderful that the club engages former players. No matter what you do there'll always be negative people around arguing that, this and this person would be better. People like David May are not made for television per se, but I like the fact that it's not all black tie 'n sh*t. You get the views of a real person who knows the business.

MUTV is a nice channel. Stewart Gardner is my favorite presenter.

A few days ago I said that David May adds feck all. I retract that. He adds a dose of stupidity. Ron Atkinson is worth listening to, Lou Macari is ok, Crerand is fine if you don't take him too seriously. Carrick is a fine player but that bloke is 36. Paul Scholes didn't play every game when he was that age and I don't Carrick being any different.

David May is also a tight arse. I know he gets a decent pension from the FA yet still tried to come in to the gym I worked at and get half price membership. I once also brought his suitcase back from my brothers place in Dubai (he'd been staying with my brother while he was coaching out there) and didn't get so much as a thanks.

Do you know what he does for a living besides Mutv and perhaps some coaching?Because I doubt that's a fulltime gig and it won't make you rich.

Not something to throw around lightly but he doesn't appear to be the brightest. Maybe he is though and I'm way off

At the time my brother was teaching in Dubai and May ended up coaching football at the same school. I may be off with this but I'm sure my brother told me he gets around 3k a month from an FA pension but not sure how accurate that is.

EDIT - 3k not 30k.

He'd left it I think with the plan to return but never went back out there and I just happened to be there for 3 weeks to stay with my brother and so I brought it back with me. I don't remember having to pay any excess though at check in so not sure how it worked out.

Didn't know they had that after so many years. And 30k a month can't be right?

I edited my post to say I meant 3k not 30k - but again, I'm not sure if correct. I have no idea how an FA pension works. Is he a regular on MUTV or just for pre season? I don't subscribe to it during the season.

Yeah thanks, 3k sounds more sensible. I don't have Mutv anymore but he used to be in a few times a week iirc.

He's a regular. Does he still do the Thursday Show with Helen Evans as well? I am sure I heard him mention about wine one time on MUTV, as though he supplies wine or something. Maybe I was drunk at the time.

True or not it will now become a fact that David May is a wine dealer

Ah the wine thing is correct. That rings a bell. He part owns a vineyard in South Africa. I heard he had a hand in one with Fergie but again, could be bollocks.

Quote from May in an Interview...

“When I wasn’t greeting Jordi Cruyff with ‘Dos San Miguels you dago bastard’, I’d urinate down teammates’ legs in the shower, cut the laces off Nicky Butts new trainers or put deep heat in the kit mans shorts.”

Confirmed - Grade A cnut.

From an article:

David May is now 40 years old and running quite the successful wine importing business which he has worked at for several years. He imports mainly South African Wines. He recently launched a new range called Mayson Ridge – the ‘May’ coming from his name. For any wine experts this range contains a Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and a Pinotage, which is a cocktail of red fruit flavours on both the nose and the palate. which all sounds very posh!

He also teaches football at a school in Dubai and of course still follows Manchester United religiously, returning back to the UK often to keep tabs on the wine business and follow the Red Devils.

This should date it as the Dubai thing was 2007/2008

Any club channel is like that, but you would want the ex-player to be able to communicate properly. I suppose it is some consolation John Aldridge never played for us. I like Bojan Djordjic when he is on, Denis Irwin is good and doesn't sound puddled with drink. Danny Higginbotham was good.

That too me, does not sound like a grade A cnut. Far from it, people get so tetchy these days. He was a well liked member of the squad when he was playing.

A grade A cnut, to me, would be Giggsy.

Lou Macari is terrible. He is like a dinosaur with his views and is positive about anything we do. If we don't sign a player, it's because he wasn't as good as what we have.

Bojan djodjric is my favourite which is funny considering I had to check who he was. Paddy is a lost cause, david may is a joke. I like stewart Gardner, love his voice. Silvestre is not bad and neither is Irwin.

The problem is half of the presenters seem hardly interested and does repeat the same thing again and again.

Are you the ref?
Today's Live United in training was a waste of time. Cameras filming the players through a metal fence from about 200 meters away. Half the players were wearing hoodies so you couldn't really make out who was who. If MUTV are not going to be given decent access to the team, why bother showing a live training session?

The only reason I stayed watching was to try and see if Rashford was in training but what with the hoodies and all, I am none the wiser.
