I see three problems which ole should work on and hopefully we will see an improvement:

1) Full backs: Both AWB and Shaw need to produce more and be a bit more adventurous. We cant have both of them being defensive and not adding to attack. All the great teams have attacking fullbacks and we should surely work on that. I think Laird will become a superstar and i also thing Williams will get better and better. However i still think Ole should work on Shaw and AWB and ask them to focus on the attacking part , crossing , dribbling, passing, shooting all can be developed with training methods.

2) Number 10: This needs a new signing or hope Gomes rises to the occasion. We cant have Mata, pareira and Lingard playing there. Each one has limited ability to play there and this being such a focul point of attack is costing us points. Dybala would have been perfect but i also appreciate the club for taking a stand and staying firm with players who want to move for money and not the batch.

3) Unbalanced Squad : I do blame ole for this but i also think he should be given time to build his squad. We need bench strength. We need players coming of the bench and winning us points , like a chicharito or Ole. Watching Ashley young, matic , Mata and andreas on bench infact gives teams confidence that of they shut out our A game they have a chance of winning the tie.

Its still work in progress and Ole still has a lot to learn. But i do think we are moving in the right direction with respect to transfers and the culture being build at the club. Key here is watching the Performance indicators. Game improvements with rashford, mctominay and fred and game plans against the Big teams has bought Ole time but people will not remember those when you loose to Watford. Hopefully having Pogba back can help him. Good luck Ole.

Bought himself 5 seasons with the wins against Spurs and City

I would still trust him to clean house, bring up the youth and identify good prospects in the transfer market and keep the dressing room together

Keeping the dressing room together is bare minimum for a manager. What are the good prospects that Ole identified?

The amount of flip flop fans is hilarious.

Also, seems a lot of you all want short term success over long term stability and success.

If you want short term success, shouldve stuck with Mourinho.....oh wait.

Sure we lost again, but we go again next week.

Entitled fans once again showing their worth.

Wah wah we lost again Ole’s cr@p wah wah

Sack Ole, Bring in Poch, we lose a bunch of games sack poch, bring in someone else.

But hey ho, let’s bring in Red Cafe’s Messiah in Pochettino. He’ll sort this lost out. Won’t he.

Entitled fans are Entitled.

bLA BLA BLA. Fans like you hinder the club by supporting a dinsour of a manager. It is clear you have NO idea about football. It is not short vs long, after 1 year there was ZERO improvements, we have no clue, I repeat no CLUE how to break team. We lost against shit team and most of the time they outplayed us. This is UNACCEPTABLE from a United manager, no style, players have no idea what to do. He needs to go OUT ASAP.

ow to set up and play against teams that defend, then get someone who does. We got counters down to an art, now we need to do better against opponents who let us hold the ball. We won't progress if it continues like this. Ole needs to show a mean side and re-structure around him.

He is not capable so he needs to go not bring people with new contract that we have to sack later.

Needs to change his system up against the smaller teams.

In the bigger games our #10 is valuable, we use him to close down the opposition and spearhead counter attacks.....against teams that sit deep it’s a completely wasted position and has been for the best part of 10 months.

The quality of Lingard, Pereira or Mata isn’t there, all 3 have failed miserably in the role yet he keeps going with it even though it’s proven to be a waste of time. Should play a basic 442 dropping the #10 for Greenwood playing alongside Martial.

After a year he was nto capable to change anything.

Greatest trick Ive ever seen a manager make. Its bordering on genius. Long term plan. He can literally do whatever he wants and still remain in the job.

It's hard to defend him after some of the results this season. Yesterday being the major one, we just never looked like beating Watford and didn't have a plan to cut them open which is astounding considering they are bottom of the league and won 1 game all season. I know teams can raise their game, get a freak result or have a new manager bounce but yesterday wasn't it and it wasn't the first time this season we have struggled against a lesser team.

Ole has to get top four this season, there's no two ways about it or he should be sacked straight away. Even a EL win but finishing outside of the top four should be considered a sackable offence. I know top four doesn't look likely now but if we manage to get two players in January and the return of Pogba, it can have a massive boost. Pogba alone is one of the best midfielders in the league, and the exact sort of creativity we have been missing. No-one else in our team could produce the passes he played to Greenwood and Rashford yesterday and we have severely missed that in these types of games. Someone like Haaland would be another good option, a physical presence who knows where the goal is and hopefully a CM who can come in and have an impact straight away.

It's his basics that is not right. You simply cannot have two midfield players playing alongside each other the way he tries to get them to play. Beat one and the other is out of the picture.
Lingard is not dropping into the space he needs to drop and neither are the CB s moving up into the space they need to.
Ole doesn't have a clue. You simply cannot play like that we used to play in 1999. We also don't have a Roy Keane and Paul Scholes.

Yeah, you may be right. I sure as shit don’t trust Poch to know how to instill the attitudes required, though. This is a fallen giant, not Tottenham.

Time will tell. The Ole-in crowd will likely get to see whether Ole can make some more signings and improve our takings against minnows. I hope to be able to say "I told you so" come May.

I hope you are mate

We are an absolute disgrace. I was saying keep Ole after the City win in the hope he was building something but in the back of my mind I was seriously, seriously concerned.

I’m willing to give him January since his signings have been decent but if nothing changes the club should never do this nostalgia experiment again.

On a separate note, I watched a fancam today with a guy blaming Pogba now back changing in the dressing room as the reason we lost 2-0.

I’d love to understand how some of our fans minds tick. Brexit FC at its finest.

That's pretty harsh no? Jose got 6th and EL his first season and i think the majority of the fans was pretty happy with that. CL football should of course be the goal, but imo not at any cost. Getting this damn rebuild done is first priority imo

I would still trust him to clean house, bring up the youth and identify good prospects in the transfer market and keep the dressing room together but not necessarily to get us back to the top. He still lacks the coaching ability and ruthlessness required to take us to where we need to be.

Still would prefer to keep him till the summer and see where we end up. There is very little to gained by appointing poch now

Anyone can clean the house, anyone can be demolition expert.

Rebuilding the house on the fly while fixing the foundation is what makes SAF special.

Surely a propper mananger would solve some problems. Its quite easy to see that we lack any form of plan when we play against teams with a low block. We just rely on individual brilliance and we dont have the players to do that game in game out. I dont think its too hard to implement a attacking structure against lesser sides, but we need good coaching to do that.

Playing counter attacking football against better teams is not the issue since we have some players with amazing pace and decent technical ability but we need collective improvement against lesser teams. It is a coaching issue.

This season we have made none progress against the lesser teams. This horror show needs to end as soon as possible. Ole must go, bring Poch in.

Addition:

Since I do not believe he is getting the boot any time soon the man could try something else. Try a different formation, different players and stop talking shit in the press. I still cant stop thinking about when he said Lingard is getting back to his best form! What ducking form? And since Ole is going to be here he better bring that ugly manchild from Norway in asap!
Some problems yes, most of it not. Squad is thin and overall structure is a mess. Whatever manager will have to work with Ed and that is a recipe for disaster yet again.

We are not making the CL, that's for sure. Even Europa League is touch and go.

If this was happening at Madrid, Juve, Bayern, Barca etc the'd have already sacked him. Absolutely no doubt about it.

We've stopped being a big club now. We are now settling for midtable. It's absolutely the wrong thing to do because it sends a signal we are no longer that bothered about being up there anymore.

Nobody was expecting miracles and for us to compete with City and Liverpool but we are behind Sheff United and level with Newcastle who have no money and Bruce as coach.

It's time to move on. Ole isn't up to it. Tactically we are so naive. So easy to defend against.

And with that Jose had peak DDG. DDG cost us top 4 last season, and how many points has he cost us this season?

Top 4 last season and say +5 points this, so we'd then be a clear 5th, two points behind Chelsea, and things would be a lot different for Ole.

Absolutely flabbergasting that this is still the case. A total shambles.

The only way we're winning anything under Ole, unfortunately, is if we can fund him enough to build an absolutely outstanding team/ squad. It's pretty clear now that he doesn't have the nous to get more than the sum if the posts available. If he's even managing that.

What's worse is that he comes across as knowing he's untouchable. He knows he's convinced Woodward to buy into what he's saying and he's only going to take responsibility once it's unanimously accepted that our team is great. Until then he's expected to do or achieve nothing. He's blameless.

If we're judging him by the standard of the last 3 managers he's doing atrocious.

Just to add to my post above. It's now clear to everyone that we are one dimensional. We have one plan, to counter attack.

This is the lowest form of coaching imo. It relies on physical attributes to win you games. If Ole could have shown that he can instruct us on how to break down a packed defence then I'd have been happy to give him time. But he's basically a real life version of one of those FIFA pace merchants with no skill that just wants to exploit Rashford and James.

He easily has the worst squad out of our previous managers post SAF. We are relying heavily on youngsters and a 'brazilian' guy from the ukrainian league who seems to be still finding his feet.

Brexit FC. How is such claptrap allowed to go without comment. Many dont rate Jesse lingard. Many dont rate phil jones. I personally am not a big fan of pogba but it's nothing to do with his race or nationality simply to do with his infuriating inconsistency. Differing opinions make the game what is is.

Our deluded fan base is as much of the problem as Ole still managing us. Board is out of their depth but still thinking Ole can turn us around after what we have seen is bordering on insanity.

Thinking objectively though we also have our worst manager in that period and are relying on a manager from the Norwegian league. There are a lot of flaws with the squad but the manager has to be given same scrutiny.

Let me guess, we have worse squad than Watford.

Ole's managerial record in the Premier league reads like this

Cardiff P30 W9 D5 L16 30% win ratio
Man Utd P56 W28 D13 L15 50% win ratio

The Norwegian is very lucky to be the manager of Manchester United.

That win ratio is declining as well which is worrying, the caretaker spell and new manager bounce boosts the stats.

I thought we would make CL going into the weekend but feels like yesterday was a crucial point in that particular race.

There will be plenty more twists and turns for top 4 but we’re consistently poor that I see no logical reason how we’d make it. there’s not enough big games for us to do it, without those games look where we’d be, it’s pathetic.

This.

Things aren't going to change while we have a useless manager, Woodward making the football decisions, and ultimately the Glazers who have tightened the purse strings completely now.

Let's just put this into perspective from yesterday, NIGEL FECKING PEARSON said he expected nothing from us. A complete reject manager like that even thinks we are a joke.

I am big Ole fan and have supported him as manager but these results against mid to lower table teams are getting tiresome now. It’s simply not good enough. He needs to figure out how to approach these matches differently because the current approach is not working.

If we didn't win the Europa League that 1st season, plenty would have criticized Jose and rightly so.

He finished 2nd and I and others HEAVILY criticized him for our tumescent style that season. I would have sacked him after the Sevilla defeat, because he did something inexcusable. He disconnected himself from the club in the post match presser.

Now some of those same people are accepting our dour state under Ole. It's amazing how the manager changes opinion on here.

It’s got to be the players at this point. I don’t think they’re even footballers most of them.

Ole said he was very happy with the squad, and didn't seem to pressure Woodward into replacing the players we lost, so alot of it falls on him to.

Not buying this.

Those players were good enough to beat Tottenham and City back to back.

We don't need better players to beat an abject Watford side.

They hadn't won at home all season before beating us.

"we need to give Ole credit for pushing the club in the right direction by promoting youth players and signing the right players. This past transfer window was the best we have had for quite some times. "

From the United sub-reddit.

Some of our fans deserve mediocrity.

It's insane.

We're only good against teams that don't respect our pace up front. Anyone that realises we can do damage takes points off us easily. Pep and Jose are arrogant enough to think they don't need to stop us, Klopp too for that matter.

We are gonna lose vs Newcastle now anyway, so where we end up in table ahead of Arsenal game then? It's a winnable game at least.

Yup, said the same a while back. They will learn, although it will be when it's far too late like they did with Moyes etc.
