A couple of years ago I was involved in a poll and the Caf did it for me too. It's the best

So a quick breakdown:

Duffy the pro artist has suffered a thoroughly embarrassing defeat, after publicly begging all and sundry for votes.
Michael is raging online after a miserable showing.
Roisin, the deserving winner, was reduced to a measly level of support, no doubt leading to a crisis of confidence.
Lord only knows what state poor Ms 1% is in.
Dawn who didn't want to win, having recognised the competition for the sham it was, was crowned queen.
And beside the guilt @McGrathsipan can look forward to having his scrotum impaled on £100 worth of watercolour pencils.

What did we learn kids?

Well I guess we now know @Hectic can code a mean, life-wrecking bot.

Havent laughed as much in years. Some of the posts in this thread are hilarious, you clever bastards.

Dawn wants to donate the painting and get it raffled/sold to generate some money for a charity up there. She is going to speak to the organisers today to see what they can do.
She will donate a cash value to charity too

Any suggestions of a good charity that works with children or community groups?

Has she definitely won then? Is she delighted?

Dont know and not at all.
She got a text from organiser saying the poll is closed and result will be announced on Wednesday.
Genuinely she is all about the art and this voting competition tainted her memory of the whole experience of being up there just painting.
The day she found out about the other one getting tweets from politicians really killed any resonance of anything to do with the art

have you noticed any change in her yet? has she stopped trying to hide her feelings of superiority around you? does she scoff at the clothes you wear now, saying how the colours are off but you wouldn’t understand art and colour like she does? has she started coming home in the early hours of the morning, smelling like art galleries and those long thin things people smoke cigarettes through? does she walk through other people’s houses, tutting at their objet d’arts? does she look at a new social media post and titter and dryly inform you that you wouldn’t understand?

Does she know a bot won it for her against the politician tweet?

She knows that the Caf made it happen. She told me multiple times to stop it.
She did have whopping support from people all over the world. The poll was being shared in SA, Australia, USA etc but she still wouldnt have got near the duffster

It’s a crap experience all around after what seems a nice local paint competition, I feel for your wife in all honesty, would have been better judged on the day to feel atleast a little sense of achievement for a great painting.

If it makes her feel better, I explained this thread to my wife yesterday (that was fun) and asked her which she thought was the best (without giving away names of who we were rooting for) and she picked Dawn's as the best.

She wasn't surprised by Marie's 1%

If there's one thing we've learnt from this whole charade, it's that every Northern Irish person has a name beginning with M.

Regardless of what happened with voting shenanigans of various kinds, Dawn's picture is the best and she is a deserved winner. Hope this hasn't affected her passion for her hobby, or her desire to participate in future competitions (because this thread has been an absolute joy).

I'm in tears:lol: was in this thread days ago, voted, left and just caught up with the last 20 pages. Surely thread of the year this. What an absolute cnut Duffy is. Imagine begging for votes and getting politicians to try and influence the voting in a fecking 'amateur' art competition. Absolutely hilarious.

@McGrathsipan the best painting won though, so hope your wife can look beyond the vote rigging and enjoy the win.

@mods this has to go in the classics

I am considering letting her read this thread. She is upset but the hilarity in here should cheer her up.

If they did that I'd use a bot to retweet the account 450,000 times and get them banned.

Well fecking why the feck not just say thank you? A little consideration for other people might do her some fecking good. Maybe once she's come down from her fecking throne she might wave her hand at us fecking plebs. fecking bullshit. Never voting again.

AND MEREDITH'S PAINTING WAS BETTER than any of those shit normal looking ones. At least she had vision and wasn't afraid to do something different. Picasso, Rembrandt, Olly, Meredith.
