Papiss Cisse

Wait 'til Sunday, he does anything similar to what he's done tonight then we'll owe it to him to buy him and pay him £700grand a week.

Thing is, we don't need him and sir-arles won't pay through the nose for him.

If he maintains the level of performance we've seen this season through all of next, he'll be on every top clubs' shopping list as a "must have" come 2013-2014 or even the winter window of next season.

We're still not going to fork out £40 odd million to bring him here when we've Rooney, Welbeck and Hernandez who are all young and proven goalscorers.
Don't forget Carroll cost £30million and he's been twice the player Carroll was in the six months or so.

How did the bigger clubs miss out on him? Newcastle have done well there picking him up for what now looks like an absolute steal of a fee.

Let's wait a while shall we? Zaki anyone?

Not yet.

He is playing out of his skin but I highly doubt that he will maintain this level. At least he is on cloud nine form wise before shitty go there.

No, let's buy Newcastle's in form striker on the back of 6 months form, what could possibly go wrong.

I'm having Cisse's every time... the technique on a strike like that is out of this world. I can't remember ever seeing a goal quite like it.

To be honest I just think Crouch's felt sweeter for me because of who it was scored against.
Technique from Cisse was out of this world though.

We've seen similar to Crouchs before(not a disservice to it, still rare).....this was just surreal. The players and managers reaction after it showed how special it was.

Unreal season for ridiculous goals though.

I watched him in French Ligue 2 a couple of years back and took the piss off his name with my mate.

He became a regular joke but now I must say I'll switch to mocking Djemba Ba (or Demba Demba alternatively)

I can't say that I think that it was intentional to strike it the way he did. A swerve like that is one that you see when players mishit the ball and it goes out for a throw-in. Think he meant to take it with the top of his foot but sliced it, which gave it that wild swerve. Still, can't complain about the end result, absolutely stunning goal.

If he does something like that against City and its not a consolation goal someone will have to scrape me off the ceiling.

I'm not sure... the way he's shaped to hit that, if he had it normally with the top of his boot, the way his foot/body was facing, he'd have been hitting that comfortably wide... this, plus the fact that we've seen the oustanding technique he has on several occassions this season already, means that I certainly give him the benefit of the doubt.

It was like a goal you'd score on Roberto Baggio's Magical Freekicks.

Of course he meant it, not that he expects it to go in the net.

Super strike, wish he had done it in there next game though.

Definitely meant it. The way the ball bounced, the position he was in... you can just tell. I'd probably try something similar in that position because you know striking the ball in that way will have that effect (obviously I wouldn't be able to pull it off) would swerve it in the direction it went. If he wanted a clean strike he wouldn't have followed through with his foot the way he did.

Of course he's struck it like that intentionally. Look at the body shape, if he hits it straight the ball ends up hitting some fat geordie in row z. Stunning improvisation and the circumstances mean its goal of the season by a mile.

He has been exceptional since moving to Freiburg in 2009, scoring 39 goals in 67 games for them, keeping them in the Bundesliga on his own. It's not form, it's class. I'm not surprised he has taken the league by storm, I'm more surprised Bayern haven't picked him up before (as they usually do with the best talent in the German Bundesliga).

That 2nd goal is ridiculous. I've watched it over and over. Absolutely unbelievable. Definitely goal of the season.

Everyone was debating goal of the season so far. RVP volley, Crouch vs City, Suarez 50 yard chip...

All can shut up now. The award goes to Cisse. What. A. Goal. Wow...

Only seen the first goal, can't wait to see the second!

Edit: Just seen the GIF - holy shit!
